A possible new pandemic is forming from a deadly strain of flu emerging from Australia and will be headed to the UK as the normal flow of travels would take it. Britain will perhaps be hit with the worst flu season in 50 years. Already, there are about 170,000 cases of flu reported in Australia which is more than double this season than usual.
The strain of flu is called H3N2, and the number of flu deaths in Australia over winter has not yet been released, but it’s thought to be the worst in many years. The last major flu epidemic was in the 1968 pandemic which began in Hong Kong killing more than a million people worldwide. Flu pandemics have been linked to fluctuations in climate, and new research connects the world’s four most recent pandemics to the cyclical cooling of the Pacific Ocean near the equator.

The cyclical research correlating everything reveals that the four flu outbreaks that swept the world in the past 100 years all followed periods of global cooling. These were in 1918, 1957, 1968 and 2009 (in this last instance, the H1N1 “swine flu”). When sea-surface temperatures sank abnormally low, this correlates to large flu pandemics. This cooling is associated with La Niña, a phase in a larger climate pattern. La Niña is the cool counterpart to El Niño, which is marked by unusually warm temperatures in the equatorial Pacific. It is now clear that both events alter weather patterns around the globe.
While the typical Transverse Wave cycle event would be every 22.75 years, but the Longitudinal Wave structure simultaneously exists and the complexity of these wave points to this season as turning up the risk factors for a pandemic flu season in 2018 and 2019.

Because the vaccine they guessed would correlate to the expected virus, didn’t. Only 15% effective. The U.S. guess for their vaccine is only 10% effective. A giant waste of time and money. The only time I got a flu shot in the last 20 years, I got the flu. Even my nurse practitioner doesn’t get the shot.
And while we’re on the subject of medicine. I had another hip replacement on Halloween. The total amount billed by the surgical center, surgeons and anesthesiologist came to about $120,000. Yet between Medicare and my supplemental they agreed to accept about $15,000. If there are any doctors out there, can anyone explain why they bother to bill so much if they already know how much they’ll actually get?
Not sure that a doctor would have any particular insight into the scam. The giant fake bills increase the perceived value of health insurance. I had a similar situation this year after five days in intensive care (after an accident): $116,000 invoice turned in $14,000 once my insurance company got involved. They paid about$9k and I paid $5,000. So it was $102,000 of pure bullshit that disappeared into thin air. My family insurance coverage costs about $19,000/ year (with big deductibles). So $19,000 of premiums resulted in my insurance company shelling out $9,000 on my behalf. They made money even in this fluke of a year when I was in the hospital for only the second time in 50 years. Getting a $116,000 invoice in the mail makes you glad you have insurance. Knowing they only had to pay out $9,000 makes my premiums look atrocious.
Yesterday the point was made that low prices aren’t always all that.
Some maintain rent is a waste. You’re throwing your $ away when you rent. Buy a house. “The numbers” seem particularly compelling in hot markets. Rental prices in denver vs mortgage payments, say. Throw in tax deductions, & it’s a no-brainer say the brainless (or overly emotional). These numbers differences funnel people into home “ownership.”
Those numbers are rigged. And ownership is an illusion. Or would rise to illusion if it weren’t just a lie that “homeowners” self-soothingly reiterate.
“The numbers,” insured vs uninsured are rigged funneling, too.
And, all that admin gins up makework “jobs.”

The only thing I can conclude is that they must get to write off on their taxes some of that difference between the actual bill and what insurances pay.
If they don’t bill that much they don’t get the small amount they end up getting.
I assume there are tax loss reasons for medical billing being what it is. The fact that it is out in plain sight for all users of the system to see is interesting to me.

The question that needs answering is how many of these got the flu vaccination for this year that got the flu. More than likely all of them. Only after no longer getting the flu vaccine have I quit getting the flu. Not that it isn’t possible to still get the flu. Just that it has become less likely since discontinuing invasively putting it into my body through the vaccination process.
