“Fire and Fury”

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

It’s told that Richard Nixon, during the endgame weeks of Watergate, wandered the west wing hallways in the wee hours, fueled on scotch whiskey, conversing with portraits of notable Americans, including many of his predecessors. “Whaddaya say, Millard? Should I stay or should I go?” He was a trapped animal, after a long, grueling, hunt, and he knew the hounds were closing in. Perhaps he took some consolation in hearing that old Abe Lincoln was even more depressed in the final, victorious days of the civil war than he, Nixon, was at the sheer cruelty of history. In the end, he marshaled the remaining shreds of his dignity, and mounted the helicopter to — his pursuers hoped — an oblivion more fathomless than the mystery of the grave.

And now here is Mr. Nixon’s latest successor, the Golden Golem of Greatness, Donald J. Trump, haunting those hallways with the political equivalent of a sucking chest wound, Big Mac in one hand, Big Gulp in the other, wondering who all the people in those oil paintings are… and what are they looking at, anyway, as he storms back to his lonely private quarters for a few last tweets of anguish.

It’s beginning to look like the last round-up at the OK corral for this somewhat accidental president, product of a decrepitating polity that otherwise grudges up a leadership of fretful, craven, corporate catamites and call-girls. Michael Wolff’s juicy book, “Fire and Fury,” would be a career-ender for any self-respecting politician, but the narcissism of Trump is altogether a different mental state. Speaking of which, it sounds like some of the amateur psychologists in congress are taking a deep Talmudic dive into the 25th amendment, to see if they can pound the square peg of Trump’s head through that particular round hole in the constitution.

Is he fit for office? This question hangs in the air of the DC swamp like a necrotic odor that can’t be seen while it can’t be ignored. In a way, the very legitimacy of the republic comes into question — if Trump is the best we can do, maybe the system itself isn’t what it was cracked up to be. And then why would we think that removing him from office would make things better? How’s that for an existential quandary?

We’re informed in The New York Times today that “Everyone in Trumpworld Knows He’s an Idiot,” though “moron” (Rex Tillerson) and “dope” (General H.R. McMaster) figure in there as well. Imagine all the energy it must take for everyone in, say, the cabinet room to pretend that the chief executive belongs in his chair at the center. It reminds me of that old poker game, “Indian,” where each player holds a hole card pressed outward from his forehead for all to see but him.

Ill winds are blowing and dire forces are converging. Do you think that it’s a wonderful thing that the Dow Jones Industrial Average just bashed through the 25,000 gate? The President obviously thinks so. And, of course, he’s egged on by all the fawning economic viziers selling stories about a booming economy of waiters, bartenders, and espresso jockeys. But, I tell you as sure as there is a yesterday, today, and tomorrow, those stock indexes, grand as they seem, are teetering on the brink of something awesomely sickening. And when they go over that no-bid Niagara cascade into the maelstrom, Mr. Trump’s boat will be going over the falls with them.

It’s an unappetizing spectacle to watch such a tragic arc play out. After all, these are the lives of fragile, lonely, human creatures trying hard to fathom their fate. You have to feel a little sorry for them as you would feel sorry even for a sad little peccary going down one of those quicksand holes in the Okeefenokee Swamp. Surely, many feel that these are simply evil times in which goodness and mercy are AWOL. I’m not sure exactly how this story ends, but it is beginning to look like a choice between a bang and a whimper.

Seems to me that you don’t need to be a Trumpophile to figure that he’s more qualified for the presidency than Obama was. For all that I despise his policies on NATO, rescinding Obama directives is a very big plus, IMO.

The biggest plus, IMO, is the way any little tweet sends the Left into frenzied hysterics. Lord knows, we need all the laughter we can get. 😀

The Donald plays the media like a well tuned instrument. Just when the media spew starts to slow down, he lights another fire-cracker tweet. And the entire media has a “squirrel” moment as they mindlessly focus on that tweet 24×7.

Since the Russia-Russia-Russia hysteria has failed and the investigation is now biting the swamp creatures in tender places, it seems only natural the media would now pivot to “Trump is unfit”.

What comes after that?

(((Wolff))) couldn’t possibly be fabricating any of these juicy tales could he? Actually, many of his associates say that he is….But Kunstler makes it sound as if he favored Hillary, a drunken, demented b*tch with her own assassination squad….which disqualifies him from any further comments on the Presidency..

An evil rotten example in 2008….the present dude doesn’t need
the job. Nor does he seem to be ramping up the swampyness
either.

Trump has exposed or highlighted the degree of corruption that
permeates every gov outlet or inlet that has a budget or a mandate.

So JHK, would you have preferred the Democrat HRC? We HAVE
Trump…let us enjoy some of the truth coming out. It is better
for us all than using your wordsmithery to denigrate. Wolf’s
shitty book aside, and the contention that Trump is unqualified?
What a load of crap. Was the Bush junior so qualified? Was O
so qualified? Was O nuts with his rainbows and odd wife and
communist manifesto and assisting in the looting of our country?
At least Trump isn’t exploiting little kids, drinking/infusing blood,
nor is he snorting dope.

Regardless of Trumps warts, he isn’t a disgusting human being.
You, JHK, are on the wrong side. Instead of bashing, do something
helpful…volunteer to help. Watch out because you are accumulating
some bad karma…and you may have bad luck. I wish you the
opposite, but I don’t think you are actually awake. You must imagine
the “Dems” will prevail.

You’d think Kunstler could smell a rat with his big nose but maybe not. The natural scent of deceit and corruption given off by his kind may overpower the foul odors being emitted by his media brethren as they make a last desperate effort to topple Trump before they and the top people in the Obama and Clinton Administrations are arrested on a list of charges that dwarf Watergate.

JMO, but if Trump is removed from office legally or not so much, I think you’ll see open civil war. I don’t think the deep state elite have a clue as to the seething, festering anger that exists on the right. These are people that were thrown overboard 30ars ago and then made to carry the financial water for every other fractional segment of society.
If their vote is invalidated my guess is it’s balls to the walls.

Trump is standing a little bit against TPTB and the Oligarchs have unleashed a hurricane of efforts to destroy him. Who else will stand at all for the 50% of US opposed to the Clinton Mafia, Cultural Communism, the Leftist, the Illuminati, the Controlled Media, the AntiChrists, the New Age NWO, UN Globalist, Islam, Pedophilia, and the Godless Socialized Everything Else Global Program? If we let the Oligarchs destroy Trump, there will be a political power vacuum that thousands of Leftist will rush to fill; and Conservatives, Patriots, Libertarians, Moderates, etc, we will all be bull dozed into FEMA land fills.

As much as I ‘abuse’ you for that, I still think you are a fine person who brought a new dynamic to this place. It used to be the old way was like in the old twilight zone movie where the inmates built a fenced pathway and put razor blades on the walls. The victim was allowed to enter, he noticed the blades and further ahead he encountered the ravenous dog. When he turned to run for the door, they turned out the lights. That was pretty much the way it was here. Fun times. Nowadays, lost noobs get a welcome and a lollipop.

Besides, I enjoyed Keyser Suzie’s description of a dentist’s bedside manner: he said he looked into a patient’s eyes as if he was going to kiss them. I will be more wary of my dentist now.

Trump’s stated positions are what resonated and his willingness to fight back rather than use canned responses. So despite him being orange tinted with an odd combover, he still came off as the most genuine out of the bunch. His build a wall resonated, you basically hae 30% of the country that wants lots of immigration. Those folks want power and cheap labor and scapegoats. The Dems became the globalist party, Sanders resonated b/c he was the least globalist out of the bunch, but Hillary & Co. had the game rigged and endless amounts of money. Trump put up the middle finger to the media, and half the country cheered him of for that. People don’t give two shits about tweets, I’m not a big fan of many of them, but I mostly care about what’s being done. I’ll take a new captain for the US titanic if it means a few extra years of time with my loved ones before the world gets even crazier. Time is the real coin of life, and Trump gave the non communists more time (and made the commies go public with their insanity). He was a strange red-pill moment. Could there be a better messenger than him, I would damn well hope so, but the non-power hungry freedom loving people usually don’t want to have anything to do with politics. Politics attracts power/money/narcissists, the very traits that we generally don’t want in our leaders. But it seems history is replete with this, the average person that just want to be left the fuck alone by the gov’t, the socialists and the others aren’t running for office (or they aren’t part of the Club so have close to zero chance). George Carlin’s rant about the club I think is pretty spot on.

Oh ya, and Kunstler is an annoying fuck face. Seriously, he can’t handle writing more than a couple articles without it going back to Trump. He is flying in the wilderness no longer beloved by his fellow commies, b/c Kunstler just isn’t quite full throat authoritarian enough to fit with the Dems as well anymore. He should just go back to his walkable city plan and write about that stupid shit, as if cities are going to transform into self sustaining urban-environmental bastions of relocalization. Stacking people together from a million subcultures in America isn’t working out all that well, it leads to violence, hate, and alot of jeolousy.

This book is a non-story and that fact that it’s getting attention shows the divide in this country. What person working hasn’t said their boss is an idiot or stupid? Who doesn’t have idiosyncrasies that make them unique from others?
If this country can’t pay attention to the important matters (China’s growing influence, the debt, AI/Tech taking jobs away from workers, etc.) and instead focuses on gossip and partisanship then we are truly doomed. Trump won’t ruin this country, the stupid masses will.

Kunstler was born in New York City to Jewish parents,[1] who divorced when he was eight.[2] His family then moved to the suburbs on Long Island. His biological father was a middleman in the diamond trade.[1]

OK, here’s a public service announcement: Trump got elected top cop, or copfuk if you prefer. He did not ascend the throne or become pope. He took the nation’s highest middle class job for the power it confers.

Trump is not going to suffer, this is all part of the WWE presidency; lots of trash talk and maybe a few knockdowns. The book says Bannon bodyslammed Ivanka. I would now expect Jared to man up and take the mic to let Bannon know what’s coming for him. This whole presidency is the farce at the end of the story. That’s on the surface.
