Am I imagining that Oprah Winfrey launched her presidential campaign last night at the Golden Globes Awards? Well, why not? Unlike the Golden Golem of Greatness, skulking fiery and furious in his lonesome White House tweet chamber, Americans of all identity persuasions love Oprah. Unlike the president, who attained “stable [for now] genius” status without ever reading a book, Oprah displays real curiosity about this vexing and wondrous world, and an eagerness to engage with it. Unlike the maestro of the janky Trump brand, with his penchant for serial bankruptcy and stiffing the help, Oprah appears capable of running a business empire.
It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. Let’s face it: the Democratic Party has no other figure of gravitas on the bench. Everybody trusts Oprah, probably even more than the erstwhile Barack Obama, with his dogged allegiance to Wall Street and his fifty percent taint of innate white male cis-hetero patriarchical depravity. Oprah might be the Democratic Party’s last best hope before it collapses into the mausoleum of US political history, where the Whigs, Free Soilers, and Anti-Federalists lie a’moldering.
Politics in this land has failed in its effort to become show business, while show business is succeeding wildly in its attempt to replace politics. All Washington can produce these days is a succession of tedious irresolvable soap operas. Hollywood is enacting a grand moral drama of clear-cut heroines and villains, victims and oppressors, sticking to archetypal story-line of our lifetime: the campaign for freedom, equality, and decency. Show business loves the desert sunshine; politics is mired in the Potomac swamp. Oprah even has better hair than the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Oprah herself is an object lesson in the social and political themes that America dares not talk about: a person of humble origins who succeeded wildly in American life by signing onto a once-sturdy and now-fading common culture. In fact, Oprah probably embodies all that remains of American common culture, and the multitudes adore her for it. They are reassured to know that the binding verities still exist. She moves in a realm where blackness and whiteness are emphatically irrelevant — which is surely a relief to people of good will who are sick of race-hustling from all quarters. Though she has credibly acted plenty of sharecropper roles in the movies, Oprah speaks English beautifully and doesn’t apologize for moving up from the ghetto patois of her rough childhood. She may not write all her own material — such as Sunday’s Golden Globes speech that may live on like MLK’s I Have a Dream oration — but she delivers her message with conviction. And who knows, maybe she did compose all or part of it.
One upshot of this is that Oprah might be capable of squaring the circle of America’s black-white racial quandary, which Mr. Obama could not accomplish: namely, restoring the idea that we have more in common as countrymen (countrypersons?) than the artificial barriers of the cultural Marxists falsely insinuate; that skin color, ethnic origin, religious order, and gender do not define adequately what we can be in the world, and maybe we would be better off putting those things aside and just work earnestly to bring out the best in ourselves without excuses..
This country is dying to put its house order. I daresay this is true of the great majority including the immiserated flyover folks who got snookered by Mr. Trump, and the big city hipsters who are coming into their years of power in the awful dimming of American prospects, and maybe even some of the suits in the corporate C-suits who still possess tattered memories of high school civics. I’m not promoting Oprah for president, but just you watch: somebody will. It is going to happen. The country faces enormous problems and predicaments, and the one-man soap opera at the center of it all is doing nothing but sucking all of the oxygen out of the room, leaving everybody else to choke and strangle.
Yeah, I really want the woman who timidly sucked up to Madonna on live TV as President.
Kunstler really needs to get the stick out of his rear about Trump.

Even Bill and Hillary knew that political expediency required that she get knocked up by Webb Hubbell, since no better-looking man would do it. Elect someone who appeals to people who watch daytime TV, are you nuts. (of course Trump had his evening show!) I was sick for over a week recently, would scan the daytime shows, they are completely divorced from reality. There was a woman who had a show that I thought was trans-gendered, come to find out from my wife, the person is a real biological woman – go figure.
You can’t prove that and neither can your wife.
Well for one thing she basically said Traditional white Americans who are see race as real and Objective Have got to die for the Greater good.She is also a damn lesbian or bi-fold sex thing or something like that.It will be joy watching her get her fat ass torn completely apart by Trump loyalist.

Have we devolved to the point where presidential candidates must now be icons of popular culture?
Oprah is a perfect candidate for the Democrats. Who doesn’t love Oprah for her sensible disposition, sunny personality, empathy, wise counsel, moral sensibility, business acumen, and generosity? Her magazine regularly offers instructions on how to fulfill one’s potential, even if it requires a makeover of self-image and reassessment of long-held misperceptions of how the world works. Best of all, she’s a minority! And a woman! She could be the ultimate foil to the white men who have had access to the halls of power for far too long as they messed up the world.
Oprah will have to measure the same sacrifice that Trump did: giving up a charmed existence to enter the brutal environment of a presidential campaign. She will have to measure the possibility that the body politic will not respond with the same adulation as her TV audiences. She is not used to being the object of hostility nor the butt of mean jokes nor having her private life and history exposed. Like Trump, she is used to finding wild success in her chosen vocation, depending on keen instincts and bold moves and personal charm to garner enough money and power to build an empire.
Like Trump, she will assume that she can seamlessly transfer all her skills, experience, and acumen to the Executive branch. She will have an easier time of it than he did since she does not possess his natural abrasiveness nor trash-talking style. What she does not yet grasp is the power that will come against her good instincts. Wait until she tries to offer changes to improve the lot of those trapped in the ghettoes, or tries to reduce the meddling of the US in other nations, or tries to create a more equitable economic system. Then her life will become a little less jolly and she will be forced to reconsider her real abilities.
Ah well, if we must have Oprah, so be it. There is another black lady ambitious politician waiting in the wings, one I find truly scary, Senator Kamala Harris of California. I’ll take Oprah.
If we get saddle with the likes of Oprah, we are getting another Bathhouse Barry in drag. Trump actually built something, Oprah just was and is a TV personality. American voters: please don’t give us another negro wannabe.

Condaleeza Rice might very well be a genius which is already extremely rare in the black population, but her logic is also intact—which is EXTREMELY rare. Apparently Obama measured well on standardized tests, but he is a brainwashed fool with little logic. So much for black intelligence! It’s damned near a myth!!

He is fighting for secure national borders, just for example. He is helping Eight Million People forced to pay outrageous IRS fines because they could not afford health insurance. Those fines will stop in 2018, just for another example. He is ending the EPA’s war on business large and small and on farming large and small. (I am a farmer. The EPA hated my guts and I knew it.) Trump is telling the Swamp that enough is enough. He is surrounded by enemies who want to destroy him. And now comes Kunstler’s constant ranting.
If Kunstler thinks Oprah and her pals would give us a good White House, by all means let this damned fool be the first of all these moronic old white men and old white ladies – we nasty racists – take their cyanide. Let him lead by example. Let us not forget that it was Oprah who said she and her RICH, radical left wing pals are just going to have to wait for us to die off before things can get better. Who do you think she meant by ‘those old white people?’

Maybe in some kind of Trump way she may clean up the festering DNC. I am more focused on what the President is doing, but there is no greater stench from a political party like there is from the DNC.
Will she win? It all depends how Trump does during his term in office. If his accomplishments continue to rise, she won’t have a chance. But in a fourth turning, who knows what things will look like in three years.
