Yes, I am in sheep country! These folks love to eat them, but I hate the taste. Flies? For some reason, not this year. My neighbors say it is a not unusual to only have a few, and not millions that I once experienced in the outback of NSW, where you could not eat without swalling a few.
That population is not far off my local community – we probably have around 200 in the area, but are about 1/2 and hr from a regional city of about 60,000, which has all the mod cons, including a hospital.
We go weeks without being troubled by anyone. They are available if you need help or want a chat, but also leave you be if that suits.
But we sure could use some rain. Did I mention Oz is the driest continent?
Don’t always agree with your ideas, sir (and fellow Ivy League grad back when it meant something), but I’d concur that you made a smart move and are handling it well. Being bilingual and familiar with South America, I moved down here 14 years ago, but there are drawbacks, no denying it. Oz ain’t an easy move for most of the folks who post here, but SA isn’t either unless one has the language and understands the ins-and-outs of a system very different from that which we left behind up north. Lots cheaper here, to be sure, but…

Someone here is lying and I’m not sure why. First it was said that you had a pig farm, which seems like an unusual occupation for a Jewish person, but I know many reformed Jews and some of them eat pork, although farming them is definitely stepping it up a notch, particularly having to live with the smell of it! So suddenly you slaughtered all of the pigs, sold them, moved, or all of this is just one lie after another.

FWIW, I immediately ignored any threads Andrea had invaded for three reasons:
#1 – She quickly became the only commenter, often responding to her own comments if no one was biting. Sifting the wheat from the chaff got old. Ain’t nobody got time for dat.
#2 – I think she might be insane. Her comments were ludicrously off the mark.
#3 – Website spam. Don’t whore yourself on someone else’s platform. If they cross post your content then good for you.

I almost moved to Oz over 30 yrs ago. I almost went for it. The Aussie official, once he saw my quals, was extremely helpful. Strange how things work out; soon after I was in Europe.
The only places I really wanted to see in the world were Australia and parts of Asia. And that’s about the only parts I never made it to. Closest I got was Big Island on one side, and the north-central Indian Ocean area on the other.

FWIW, I immediately ignored any threads Andrea had invaded for three reasons:
#1 – She quickly became the only commenter, often responding to her own comments if no one was biting. Sifting the wheat from the chaff got old. Ain’t nobody got time for dat.
