Dirty Oddie

Go ahead – make my day.

Back in 1971, Clint Eastwood’s character said it on screen – and people were shocked. But it was just a movie. And besides, Dirty Harry only shot bad guys – murderous psychopaths, as in the original 1971 film.

In the sequel film – Magnum Force – Dirty Harry shot murderous, psychopathic cops.

Today we have Dirty Oddie – and he’s not a character on the silver screen. He’s an armed government worker – a law enforcement officer – in Tennessee. And he “loves this shit.”

Killing people, that is.

Those are Dirty Oddie’s own words. “God, I tell you what, I thrive on it,” he adds (in between chuckles).

Dirty Oddie thought he was talking behind closed doors, among his fellow armed government workers, when he uttered those words in the wake of yet another roadside execution that was the culmination of yet another needless escalation over the enforcement of an initially petty violation of statute.

Michael Dial, 33, was driving on a suspended license.

No one had been harmed. He wasn’t even bothering anyone.

He was merely driving without – so to speak – the King’s Permission. Apparently, an armed government worker ran the plates hanging off his battered old pick-up truck and thus began the fatal encounter.

When armed government workers attempted to stop Dial, he did not stop. Probably because he lacked the funds he knew the armed government workers would extract from his hide for driving without the “required” permission slip. Perhaps because he was understandably terrified of what else they might do.

Granted, he didn’t stop.

Are jaywalkers next on the Kill List?

The point is Dial wasn’t initially a criminal in even the misdemeanor sense and the armed government workers knew that, having run his name through their computers – which is how they discovered the suspended license “offense.” And it’s worth noting that Dial – who was white – was initially targeted for scrutiny – the license check – for the not-even-statutory “offense” of being poor. He was driving a battered and faded decades-old truck and hauling a trailer load of junk.

This drew their attention. Then their fire.

It is not in keeping with politically correct orthodoxies, but it’s not primarily skin color that paints a target on your back. It is economic status – as perceived  among other qualifiers by the type of vehicle you drive.

At any rate, the armed government workers could have discreetly followed Dial rather than amped up the situation with their howling sirens and flashing lights – which are designed to confuse and disorient the target of their attentions.

They could have backed off – and calmed things down. Why not? There was no good reason to escalate as Dial wasn’t a threat to anyone.

But doing that would constitute the worst offense of all – a threat to the Authority of armed government workers. And that is a capital offense in America.

Dial led the armed government workers on a low-speed “pursuit” – his battered truck, which was pulling a trailer loaded with stuff he’d picked up at a flea market – was hardly capable of more.

Dirty Oddie’s men surround the truck, then ram it – and the trailer – attempting to sideswipe it off the road. This is not enough escalation for him. “Don’t ram him. Shoot him! Fuck that shit! You’re gonna tear my cars up.”

Dirty Oddie is more concerned about damaged sheetmetal than he is about Dial’s life – which ends shortly thereafter in the usual hail of bullets. Dial was not armed. All of this over a suspended driver’s license. All because Dirty Oddie could not tolerate such an offense – the affront to Authority, not the suspended license – to go unpunished.

Naturally, the local government prosecutor – who per SOP rarely if ever prosecutes other government workers – “cleared” the armed government workers shot Dial to death on the bloodthirsty orders of Dirty Oddie.

Who was caught on tape exulting in Dial’s death.

Dial’s widow is attempting to get the Feds to intervene, but this is like asking the Gambino family for assistance dealing with the excesses of the Genovese family. If she gets money, it will be extracted from other victims – the people of the Tennessee, who will be made to pay for Dirty Oddie’s crimes.

And the consequences – if any – will of course be purely financial. Dirty Oddie will not be removed from his position of “public trust” for reasons of obvious psychopathy. None of the armed government workers who carried out his psychopathic orders will see the inside of a jail cell.

When the video of this incident went public, Dirty Oddie claimed that he “ . . .gave the order to take him out because he was going to kill somebody if we hadn’t.”

But it was Dirty Oddie’s men who created the situation by escalating a trivial infraction into what became a roadside fusillade.

Driving on a suspended license does not mean one is driving dangerously. It means one is driving without government permission – that’s all. Is this offense so egregious that it justifies a multi-car pursuit? Ramming – and gunfire?

OJ got treated with greater discretion.

Would it have threatened public safety in any actual way to let Dial continue driving home and deal with the trivial infraction of the motor vehicle code later?

Even Dirty Harry would be disgusted.

This is stupid – the guy didn’t stop. You can’t out run the police. Driving like a maniac, in a shit truck, endangering other people on the road.

Do what the cop says. This is suicide by stupidity.

Even the most egregious law enforcement bullshit doesn’t penetrate your thick skull does it Dutchman. The man was killed over a suspended license you dipshit, and the Sherriff is on tape exulting over the whole sordid business. You sir, are a complete slobbering idiot when it comes to blindly and ignorantly backing anything that authority figures do. You ought to be ashamed of yourself for making such a blatantly stupid comment.

I’m taking both sides.

Right or wrong, evading police is a really REALLY stupid move. Apparently, the victim doesn’t have YouTube or Internet. If the guy just pulled over, he would be alive (well … probably). He fucked up.

That does not exonerate the copfuk. He is even more guilty … and, IMHO, of murder. The copfuks escalated the situation throughout, and for heinous reasons so aptly explained by Eric Peters. Hopefully that (those) copfuk(s) will suffer an identical end by the hands of a deplorable citizen.

Police are NOT Authorized to summarily execute ACCUSED “criminals”. It’s not the law and is not legal. It is tolerated in Tennessee which sends a strong message to avoid the state.

WHY is government allowed to own and control the roads? Why is government allowed to hold the monopoly on “justice” and its adjudication? Why is government allowed to hold the monopoly on “security?” Until we finally change our way of thinking to finally realize that there is NOTHING that government current does (and holds a monopoly position on) that cannot be done better, cheaper, more efficiently, and most importantly – IN A MORE ACCOUNTABLE MANNER, by a fully competitive, free market of security service companies, nothing will EVER change. Post all the comments on Facebook you want, but until you change your own minds, and the minds of everyone you know, this police state will continue to grow and murder us.

But day in and day out they show that they clearly cannot.

“All of this over a suspended driver’s license.”

Not exactly.

He was driving on a suspended license, ran from the police trying to get away after something showed up on his plates as illegal, apparently did something else to warrant the police having to physically remove him from the vehicle. and got himself shot.

Just an innocent little boy that dindo nuttin’ wrong, was probably getting ready to get on his Knees and beg for his life while surrendering too.

Had he not done the things that got his license suspended in the first place, or not kept driving after the suspension, or just made sure his vehicle had a clean plate with not arrest warrants associated with it, he would be alive today.

But he did all of those things and got shot instead, his own fault.

Anon, since you must know everything going on in his life- tell me more. Did the medical cabal wipe him out financially? Did his daughter recently die? Was his best friend sleeping with his wife?Meaning life is complex and so are people. Maybe walking a mile or two in his moccasins would change your perception?

Actually ‘Go Ahead, Make My Day’ was from the much later movie “Sudden Impact”. The Dirty Harry line was ” Do you feel lucky punk ?’

That said, I am concerned about the offense of ‘DWLS’ or driving with license suspended’ and its related ‘driving while poor’. It is obvious to anyone that people MUST drive to perform basic human activity in the United States unless you live in a city center ( where the poor cannot afford to live) but courts must also have some ability to enforce their rules on miscreants.

Revoking the right to use public roads should have limits, i.e. a drivers license should only be restricted not revoked. A person unable to pay fines or having a poor driving record should still be able to use a car to get where they absolutely must go. We have systems that can automatically evaluate in seconds our credit card use. No reason why a person with a restricted license should not be able to request permission to drive to a medical appointment or to pick up their children and use GPS and their vehicle info to monitor their travel.

It may all be made moot with self driving cars but I am skeptical but denying a person the right to drive is akin to denying them the right to peddle a bicycle and no court has yet tried that.

Which has now made me wonder……will a gov-issued license be required to be inside a self-drive vehicle? Not me officer, I was just sitting there, it was the car that did it.

Driving isn’t very difficult. What’s the problem when you have bad judgement, disregard the safety of others (like that video), and blatantly ignore laws, and common sense. Well if he had that many outstanding fines for reckless driving – he shouldn’t be on the road.

Eliminate state licensing, titling and registration of motor vehicles. With no state interest in motor vehicles, cops would only be able to pull people over if they had committed a crime against another, as it should be.

Truly why do we allow government to issue licenses when the insurance companies take the greatest financial “hit” when it comes to poor operation of motor vehicles? It is more about the decisions of politicians than about any real concern for safety, etc.

Vehicles can be identified by their VIN number, which is unique and cannot be stolen, unlike license plates. Today the technology exists to easily identify vehicles without an antiquated bolt-on plate.

Once the vehicle is paid off (unless it was bought with cash) the owner would receive the Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO) which is a true title, rather than a certificate of title and thus is immune from being taxed.

Copfuks must be put in their place. I’m not going to say that state and municipal police forces should be abolished, but clearly they need to be treated like children…highly regulated and closely controlled.

Sadly , stupid poor people scraping by tend to devolve into a spiral that compounds the first few actions into an avalanche where by the full force of badge wearing minions “Just Doing there job” excuses any and all police action upon them . Killing a guy over a suspended license sounds crazy and it is BUT it is generally self inflicted to some degree . When you shit where you eat sooner or later you step in something that you can’t wipe off easily !

The part that perplexes me is why the taxpayer is always on the hook for the acts of public servants. When and if they violate the law- whether it is during working hours or in uniform- they should be held criminally liable for their actions and responsible for any monetary damages.

Now as to the brain damaged junk man who lives under the impression that laws don’t apply to him because of HIS economic condition, how is that any different from some wealthy elite who routinely stores their top secret government server in the bathroom closet? There isn’t a nickels worth of difference between the two as far as I’m concerned.

In a kleptocracy where the elites and their praetorian guards are immune from prosecution, they send a clear message to the balance of the population that isn’t OD’ing in the bafroom that laws are for suckers and screw people who follow the rules.

Expect things to decline unless this trend is reversed.

In today’s society amoral and unethical Administrative laws are being imposed on people and causing negative consequences.

These laws are being enforced by what used to be peace officers. These peace officers are now called law enforcement. Not only that but these law enforcement officers are being militarized and their relationship to citizens has become hostel. Carrying out their law enforcement responsibilities these officers in most cases are intimidating in their interaction with many individuals in the community.

Law enforcement is about enforcing laws both just and unjust. The unjust laws are causing many problems. Law enforcement officers don’t see the difference. All they know and practice is enforcement. No conscience is involved.

Today in Richardson, Texas a trained killer law enforcement officer was given a hero’s funeral. He was killed in the line of duty. There is something ironic in this. His peers in law enforcement grieved his loss and it was shown on TV. But how many in the public did not grieve his loss? This part was not shown on TV.

Which brings us to a very important question. Is the pursuit of law enforcement of so many unjust and unethical laws worth the price of so many deaths of both law enforcement officers and public law breakers or presumed law breakers?

Ponder that!

Lawyers, guns and money….
The core elements of a controlling authority.
I surmise that a cop’s daily activities are so boring that when they do get the occasional “runner” to react to all their bells, whistles, horns and lights, they…..
“THRIVE ON THAT SHIT !!” That is probably what attracted them to the position of authority to begin with.
I also think that the type of person that should be considered for such a position is simply not interested.
