Those nados have been coming our way for as long as I been alive. 10 years from now when the debt sits at $35 trillion, they will still be “comin our way”. If people can pay $8k deductibles and $32k for new vehicles on incomes that are essentially flat for the last 10 years, then hell they can also pay $16k for deductibles and $47k for new vehicles, on incomes that will be essentially flat for the next 10 years. You have math and reality on one hand, but you have debt and money printing central banks on the other.

15 years ago or so I witnessed a weather front that looked like the photo of multiple wind vortices. We were returning from an overnight fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico, fishing oil platforms 60 miles south of Mobile. Tired from 24 hours of fishing; catching pelagic tuna, mahi and wahoos, and big catches of red snapper, gag groupers and assorted other bottom dwellers.
I was in my 28 Kevlacat with twin two stoke 200’s, my brother and his crew were in my previous boat, a 26 Sea Cat with 4 stroke 130’s. We both had about 400 pounds of protein iced down aboard. It was a four hour trip home, cruising at just over 20 knots.
An hour into a head wind of 10-15 knots, the wind increased as we saw the dark stretch of a weather front directly in our path. As we approached water spouts began dropping down to touch the water. We could see three different large spouts directly ahead. My radar showed a “bow echo”. It turned into a “hook echo”.
We plowed directly into 3 to 5 foot seas with an occasional 8 footer for good measure. We hoped better weather was on the other side of the front. And it was. The wind was now 180 degrees from the direction it had been.
However, the trip through the jaws of the storm was harrowing. We had to slow down to a dog paddle speed. Visibility was down to zero. Radar was solid red. We lost contact with each other.
As we created some distance from the front, pushed by a tail wind and waves, the line extended as far as we could see. Only now the water spouts had coalesced forming a huge funnel cloud as large as any tornado I have seen pictures of.
Sorry I just had to do some writing today. This story only ranks three or four on bad storm stories from the GOM. Four hours in a super cell when 40-50 mph winds come from every point of a compass rose takes the cake.
I know that feeling, Keyser. We were headed out swordfishing one night about 20 miles offshore, and just as it was getting dark we could count 7 waterspouts around us. With the rain and the dimming light is very hard to see anything, not a good feeling trying to find a way to get out from under that storm. Waterspouts aren’t supposed to be that strong, I sure wouldn’t want to get hit by one, just in case it’s a bad one

People make jokes about the debt, but that balloon will pop, and it won’t just be a recession or depression that it leads to. It will be another world spanning war, though I daresay it will be wide spread civil war moreso than “axis and allies.”
All their actions explained by the coming Ice age, let the Muslims have the parts of the planet that are going to be under a glacier or at best tundra, whilst they are leaving areas of the world that will still be habitable after the Pole shift. After reading the 4th turning, it is my belief we are just at the front edge of this cyclical change. I know that is not what Strauss and Howe predicted. I think the 2008 downturn and central bank accommodation was a last gasp of the old regime. This time, the emperor’s lack of clothes will be plain to the sight of all.
