As near as I can tell as I sift through the conflicting stories of who did what to whom, this gas-attack “news” is bullshit. False flag? ISIS? But it would absolutely illogical for Assad’s people to use gas.
Where is any national interest (from the citizenry’s standpoint) for our having any involvement in Syria? Somebody explain that to me, please. I understand all the crap about a natural-gas pipeline from Qatar, but that’s not our national interest; only the “Wolfowitzers”.

Following overnight speculation that the US may launch an airstrike on Syria at any moment, this morning, in his latest fiery tweetstorm, after slamming the failing New York Times and again lashing out at the Russia collusion probe and Cohen’s office raid, Trump tweeted that “Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. The tweet prompted several observers to point out the following Trumps statement from the historical archives:
In any case, Trump’s comment came in response to a statement by the Russian ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin who said overnight that any U.S. missiles fired at Syria will be shot down and their launch sites targeted in response to Trump promise of a forceful response to an alleged chemical attack on a rebel enclave near Damascus.

“Last year was about sending a signal,” Stavridis said, referring to the April 2017 strike ordered by Trump. “This year its about destroying actual Syrian capability.”

Putin has had it up to his eyebrows at being poked. And if guess #2 happens, war will ensue …. possibly escalating to a nuclear war, given Trump’s mental deficiencies.

The US military has already contacted the Russian military and will coordinate with them on the attacks to avoid Russian casualties. So they are going to tell Russia- Damascus where they intend to hit. It seems no one wants to back down or lose face , but don’t want to escalate things.lol

Gave Trump a pass last April, despite great anger, when he lobbed the hand full of missiles and gave Putin early warning. Now, with the absurd things he is saying, he is showing no real courage to do what is right, but instead exhibiting behavior unworthy of a president. He is clearly just a tool of at least part of the deep state- the Israel and MIC DS. He will lose support from most of his base if he fires the missiles, and will be finished. The level of hysterical threatening indicates he really can’t deliver in any credible way. Even if the missiles are launched from subs, as soon as they are, the Russians will know where the subs are and will destroy them. Russians have been preparing for this moment for years- they knew it was coming and that there was nothing they could do to prevent it, outside of delaying it as long as possible, which they did. The West is down to their final move on the chess board, and Russia knows what it is.

8) As others have pointed out, Trump is a demented psychopath with the emotional maturity of a 13 year old.
9) Between Mueller and Stormy and the prospect of impeachment after the midterms, Trump is backed into a corner. Never forget that a foolish foreign policy is the hobgoblin of a failed presidency.
All of this points to war between the US, Russia and Iran. There is no way out.

The primary reason for my vote for Trump was because Crooked Clinton’s policy for Syria was to declare a no fly zone to try to stop Russia from acting in Russia’s interest in Syria at the behest of the internationally recognized legitimate government. Which meant war with Russia in Syria. It would put some poor fighter jockey in the position of ‘They’re flying in the area it has become my job to keep the no fly zone’ and starting WWIII when the USAF shot down a russian plane, or vice versa.
I do not want WWIII (although TPTB quite apparently do) so I voted Trump in a swing state. If Trump gets us involved in WWIII, he will completely and forever lose my support.
He can bluster and tweet tough as much as he wants. The credible threat of out crazying the crazy has led to apparently real progress on NK’s nuclear extortion racket, more so then the last several decades of limp wristed diplomacy. He can even launch missiles, so long as it is very (and correctly) calculated to be outside of Russia’s war response. The difficulty and uncertainty of that calc makes launching highly risky, but so long as it doesn’t actually escalate, I can even tolerate that.
