In the last two months, March and April, US citizens bought more small arms than the US military owns. There is a definite problem providing tip of the spear types for the military machine now, imagine how hard it would be if they were fighting on US soil and wanted to keep their families safe.

I don’t see a civil war in America’s future. Civil unrest, definitely, but not a civil war.
The military is loyal to Trump. The left will riot and he will use it to crush them if they do.
Left-wing terrorism followed by martial law is a more likely scenario. Patriots will defend themselves when necessary in this event but by and large, they trust Trump and support the military so will likely stand down if asked while the Feds clean up the Marxist mess in the streets.
Once the left sees the true consequences of its actions they too will stand down, quickly. A country under martial law will be a sobering reality check for pouty millennial communists and celebrity crusaders. It will be over quickly once things get serious. These people do not have the stomach for REAL conflict.
Don’t bet on the military.
The military is not a monolithic organization. The FBI is supposed to be loyal, too, and look at them. There are a whole lot of dummycrats in the military. When I was in the Army, we had communists and hard-core liberals, flaming homos (against regs in the early 200s), and a whole lot of a-political guys who just wanted to drink beer and get laid. I knew a Puerto Rican chick who kept a Che Guevara flag on her wall and angrily defended him as a great man if you asked about it. I knew a Jewish guy who married a Muslim girl and constantly defended Islam as a great religion. I knew several open or semi-open homos who were hiding in plain sight. One only came out when he wanted to avoid deployment to Iraq, ending his “service.” Lots of lesbians, too. And a whole lot of complete imbeciles.
Oh, at the same time, we had Bradley Manning stealing our secrets.
And Snowden was also serving while I was in. How many others like them were there that we don’t know about yet?
Now, there are gang members in it for the training. There are out-and-out communists, like 2nd LT Spencer Raponi. His entire class and professors knew about his communist ideals and only one professor protested his radical anti-American views.
