Socialism certainly looks appealing to the basement dwellers, diversity hires and women.
I see the last part in my own daughter who certainly is a crusader for hypergamy. That she was born a woman means that she is owed a life of luxury and exotic travel. Since she is unable to provide those things for herself, it is the duty of some good looking exceptionally wealthy guy to do it for her. Simple.
I asked her her opinion on this thought experiment: Suppose you find Mr. Perfect and he makes $200k per year but the voters decide that single mothers who don’t work deserve exotic vacations too and the government wants $120k of that money. I asked if she would be Okay with that. Of course she would not under and circumstance be okay with HER money being taken and given to some other woman. “They can earn their own money” she said.
Gotta love the way some people think.

This is nothing new. The Democrats have been advocating socialism for 50 years. They have just been lying and calling it by another name. Why are people surprised that socialists are challenging non existent Democrat moderates.
