80/20 rule applies. Pareto’s?
Out of 100 Americans, 20 care about healthy habits. Of those 20, 4 might be the cream of the crop that would take stairs up instead of an escalator, to keep obesity at bay, get some exercise.
Use it or lose it…
Applies to brains as well as muscles.
Excused: those w walking disabilities.

This was taken at Universal Studios Hollywood. There are seven long escalators with the same number of flights of stairs. The tram used to take you to the lower level and abandon you at the gift shop. Now they use the tram as an attraction, taking you through Jurassic Park.

Looks like LA .

When watching a re-run of Blade Runner, I said to myself, if only the dystopian future they predicated was that classy and sophisticated.

Yeah, the pic screams poignantly what sheep, eagerly led about, the most of us are. Quieter though, is the reality that “breaking from the herd” impulses are ridiculed and cajoled and institutionally beat out of us, figuratively or literally, thanks to public schooling. We won’t even mention how grandly the media and the workplace thrive on throttling free thought and free expression from the masses. Nevertheless, I’m grateful that I’ve been able to reach middle age with my “break from the herd” impulses quite intact. Or else I guess I’d just be trying to be original, like everybody else. Haha.

Saw this all the time in Japan. I was the fat middle aged white guy taking the stairs. The Japanese folks would queue up for the escalator.
