Dr. Sowell, these numbers have meaning. There are other Social issues that apply as well. Males have only one answer relative to sexual contact, NO! Females have two answers available, YES and NO! If we can accept that there are a few things that are ABSOLUTELY required for Homo sapiens (genus and species of humans) to survive it is: 1) Find food, 2) Find shelter, 3) Procreate! Tell me, who is “in charge”? Couple that with the reality of the same genus and species is: 1) Not nice and 2) Opportunistic (that includes myself and all the rest of that group). What can we expect? Women and Men are required to be a TEAM. Without that relationship, we do not exist. We are NOT the same, Don’t think the same and will die of we try to change that relationship.
While much deserved I am sorry Mr. Sowell retired,his articles were always great reads.
I am sorry that I have suggested that he was still writing some of this. I have several of his books and appreciate he and Walter Williams (both great Americans). The fact is, we need to perpetuate the intellectual greatness of ALL “committed” Americans and this is one of those issues.
