Armed Father Kills Masked Shooter Who Opened Fire At Alabama McDonald’s

Very inconvenient story for the gun confiscating lefties trying to use the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting as their latest attempt to confiscate our guns. You won’t see this story get .01% of the attention that the Pittsburgh story will get on the left wing MSM. What would have been the outcome in Pittsburgh if someone in that Synagogue had been armed?

A father shot and killed a masked gunman who opened fire inside a McDonald’s in Birmingham, Alabama, on Saturday night.

A store employee had opened the door for the father and his two sons to leave when a man wearing a mask walked in and began shooting, according to WBRC-TV. At that point, the father turned around and began firing at the shooter with his pistol.

Both men were shot, the gunman later dying from his wounds and the father suffering non-life threatening injuries. One of his sons was also hit, but he is also not facing life-threatening injuries.

The name of the shooter and of the father have not been released. The father is not expected to face charges.

“I’m feeling grateful,” Markus Washington, an employee at this McDonald’s told WBRC-TV. “Wrapping my head around it all, I was just wishing someone would come wake me up from this nightmare.” (RELATED: Texas Man Who Shot Church Gunman Was Certified NRA Instructor)

“He’s my hero,” Washington added. “Because I can only imagine how it would’ve went if he wasn’t armed. We might not be here having this interview.”

According to WVTM-13, Birmingham police spokesman Sgt. Bryan Shelton stated:

Things like this are difficult for both families. The gentleman who unfortunately lost his life, the teenage boy who is in the hospital recovering from his injuries and the father who is also recovering from his injuries. It’s not easy being a father and watching your child get injured, get hurt like that. It’s a really heartwrenching experience.

This happens all the time on a much smaller scale. The gun grabbers don’t know this and don’t want to know. I went to The Well Armed Women website for testimonies because I could find it fast but I know these stories are certainly not limited to women. Some of them will curl your hair to think what would have happened without their ability to defend themselves.

I’ve always felt the open carry attitude around this part of the country, especially during deer season, is healthy and wholesome. It does not scare me one whit to see young and old men and women packing weapons.

Seeing open carry doesn’t scare me either, G.
I assume the ones ballsy enough to display have taken the time to learn how and when to use it, if necessary, and wouldn’t easily be overpowered by surprise assault.
One could argue that open carry acts as a deterrent.
The flip side is, anyone casing a place to commit a crime would instantly recognize their first priority to take out, before further mayhem can ensue.
Concealed carriers have the element of surprise for any criminal who doesn’t factor in the possibility that someone among the crowd of targets has a response.
That other aspect of a small framed person invites being overwhelmed by larger criminals when it’s discovered the weaker law abiding person has a means of defense.
By concealing, the 150 lb. man or woman has an ace up their sleeve / in their waistband, which levels the playing field when a larger, aggressive lawbreaker wants to throw his weight around and doesn’t give a damn who he injures or kills.
If criminals had smarts, we’d see fewer die at the hands of defenders.
If 2A is ever repealed, and / or common citizens are not allowed to carry or own, it’s game over.

Agreed, it will be “game on”.
Good government cannot expect free citizens to be willing victims of violent crimes or legislated usurious theft. Attempts to relieve your person of the fruits of legally earned labor should be considered the same as physical theft of legal property, and neither should be taken without just reason, consent, or promise of compensation.
This angers me – a lot, and makes me wonder why large-scale embezzlers like John Corzine can still walk unperforated in public.
It’s also why I’ll always despise socialists and Communists as they’re little more than thieves at heart.

The majority of criminals are chickenshit predators, not calculating fiends like you propose.

Seeing an armed and alert prey, most look for easier marks.

That’s why the few times someone open-carrying gets accosted by a thug (not in uniform) recieves so much attention, it’s so rare.

Almost as rare as white-on-black crime.

Police protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves. Police do not protect you from crime (the supreme court ruled so), they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

Someone I know often says, “An armed society, is a polite society.” This is the perfect example of not giving up our rights to bear arms. I also live in an open carry part of country in AZ, and we are not the wild, wild, west! It’s an insult to people’s logic to tie in crazy people’s behaviors and generalize it to all….How insulting to our intelligence and logic those who want to grab everyone’s guns because of crazies. O.k., with that logic, let’s get rid of all cars because of all the deaths crazy people cause driving stupid, or better yet, let’s take away all cell phones cuz some stupid people do stupid things with them, like driving and texting. Hmmmm didn’t I hear somewhere “stupid is as stupid does”…sigh…..Can’t teach stupid!

Some people are hard learners who refuse to learn.
This is why honest folks should be allowed to carry because there are few problems properly applied +P jacketed soft points cannot solve. I support legally concealed carry as it allows the owner a potential threat advantage in many instances, whereas open carry could identify you as an immediate threat.

All the other Jews in the synagogue would have realized he was a Republican Jew … then they would have shot him!

No, it’s so damned true it’s almost hilarious … but in reality, they wouldn’t have plugged the Republican Jew, they’d simply shun him and the whole family, shutting them out of their insular social and financial community.
They DO have their own version of a mafia and it’s sometimes quite profitable and effective. Saying so isn’t anti-Semitic, it’s fact.

I live where both open and concealed carry are illegal. There arent many cops. So people do both, open and concealed carry, as it suits them. No one seems to mind. Also a bit of year round carry for long guns. So its not unusual to see someone toting a lever gun with a holstered pistol in plain sight down at the market. But they leave them home when out drinking. I think it makes folks more polite generally speaking. And we have near zero crime. Go figure.

Not sure what State law in PA mandates for legally armed civilians or if license to carry concealed is allowed there.
In MI, houses of worship are one of the dedicated gun free zones by law, unless specific permission is granted to a legal CPL holder by the leader of any specific worship facility.
In these times, leaders of churches and synagogues would be wise to allow a couple ‘front pew regulars’ to add an extra measure of quiet security as a backup contingency besides other security measures. After adequately vetting their qualifications, of course.
IMO.

Private property rights MUST be respected. If you do NOT feel safe not being able to carry concealed or otherwise onto someone’s private property, let them know so and walk away. YOU also have NO RIGHT to violate their private property rights. Far too many forget that in this discussion. Private property rights are the foundation of everything.

Oo Rah, you’re my kind of liberal.
In my old home state of Virginia, there was a shop I’d frequent at lunchtime. One day I walked in and the owner, whom I respected, confided to me my mere presence may have deterred a possible robbery situation. Those are the people who appreciate what property rights are worth, and nowadays, living in NJ, there are people I would sooner piss on than help during a bad situation.

What you might attribute to organized conspiracy, I attribute to pure human ignorance and malice. It has an equally exploitable value as any Manchurian Candidate could ever have and exists in abundance.
