Government establishes order. The problem with our modern western governments is they have established too much order which is a direct threat to freedom. Governments today have suppressed to much freedom.

Freedom is real because it harmonizes Fact and Value (spiritual value); the foundation of moral philosophy.
Order is unreal because it separates Fact and Value.
In America order is established by Administrative Law; not Constitutional Law. This form of law only operates and regulates by facts; not values.
Consequently there is no harmonizing of facts and values. Too much of this law will result in rebellion of the population.
Example: France. Excessive tax on petrol without consideration of the hardship it is causing people is causing a civil revolt.
Not exactly. Rule of law is supposed to imply EQUAL protection, authority, autonomy for everyone, regardless of circumstances. We have NOTHING like that now.
Rich people can buy acquittal (O.J. Simpson, Jamie Dimon, others) or simply have the charges dropped before trial (Hillary, Holder / Lynch / Lerner, others). Knock over a convenience store? Whether you get probation, prison or let off varies by age, wealth, social position. THIS IS NOT RULE OF LAW.
Until real RULE OF LAW returns and the GUILTY GET PUNISHMENT nothing else can be done. Government (DOJ in particular) is so infested by parasitical corrupt office-stealers that a fair trial cannot happen if they get involved. It will almost certainly take a genuine revolution to throw out the evil ones, with great loss of life on all sides.
