So now we’ll see how long Trump can let the shutdown – such as it is – continue. Who has bigger balls, Trump or Pelosi?

WooHoo!!!!!!! a paid vacation for non-essential government employees! Life just don’t get any better than that.

Please explain to me again why we need the non-essential government employees (which would be most of them).

Poignant questions indeed, posed by the meme. Far more poignant is that collectively we abide in being treated so. Its been said “our forefathers would be shooting by now!”, yet we trudge onward, numbed to the beating to the point the only way we’re aware of our beating is the sounds of the thuds in our ears. And if we bear our beating a while longer, sustained by the hope that a bright day, justice and rectitude are not far off, then the worst betrayal is the trumpist that wrought the hope is really a novocaine-distraction to keep us from straining against our shackles. If he proves to be a hoax then he’s worse-much-worse than even his predecessors.

Last night NASA TV ran a circa 2008 interview with the crew of Apollo 8 ( Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and William Anders) the first men to leave the earth and orbit the moon as Christmas Eve will be the 50th anniversary of the historic mission. Full of amusing banter and anecdotes about the flight they grew serious when they talked about the NASA of today with the NASA they worked at. Borman doubted NASA could even conduct a manned mission to the moon again. Environmental studies would have to be done to launch a rocket as powerful as the Saturn V with Borman sarcastically noting “every alligator around Cape Canaveral would probably have to be surveyed and tagged” to get approval. Anders noted the details of the mission were worked out in a four hour meeting with Chris Craft and the crew and that today it would take committees months to study and determine how many orbits would be done with Lovell chiming in there would also be Congressional Oversight of the mission plans!

Is was just amazing to think that, once upon a time, Kennedy could tell a government agency to land on the moon and that agency, from a standing start, could develop, build and launch a spacecraft to do it in less than 9 years.

I wrote an article for Lew Rockwell a few years ago about the moon landing where I said that although I believe that we did land on the moon, the photos had been altered.

In every picture, the US flag and the words THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA are illuminated. Even when they are in shadow. That’s impossible.

I got quite a few emails from that article including a couple from Neil Armstrong.

The ex NASA people and their contractors to a man-woman of them all said the same thing in their emails. That the NASA of today is not the same NASA that they worked so hard for all those years ago. Today it’s made up of just a bunch of political hacks that they had no respect for.

My favorite comment was from a guy that said he wouldn’t trust NASA today to design a canoe.

Here’s the article that I wrote back in 2010 if you are interested:

The last shut down almost caused me demise and broke me financially.

I had zombies on the wire/food was running out/ammo and med supplies at that point almost non existent and was saving the last few rounds to kill our group before the zombies broke the wire, thankfully, the shutdown ended!

I have barely reached long term rebuild of survival supplies and now another shutdown,WTF!

Unfortunately, once the Democrats take the house in a few weeks they will end the shut down by pulling the funding for the will and win again. They will look like hero’s for putting the useless leeches back to work. It won’t be Schumer’s shut down but Trumps and the Media will spin everything into more anti Trump propaganda. Quit paying these idiots and make it real.
