Someone has allegedly been throwing dirty diapers from windows of a public housing complex on Essex Street on the Lower East Side. Jummy Olabanji reports.
Someone has allegedly been throwing dirty diapers from windows of a public housing complex on Essex Street on the Lower East Side.
Soiled diapers and trash have been thrown out of windows for months, falling on the canopy and sidewalk of the Seward Park Extension building, according to NYCHA. Because of these incidents, NYCHA is regularly cleaning all garbage and debris in and around the development.
“It’s disgusting,” resident Robin Stucker said, to which fellow resident Shawn Stucker adds: “Sometimes the diapers come down and almost hit you.”
Though by Monday, no trash or diapers were on the awning, two construction workers working across the street from the building confirmed to News 4 New York seeing the diapers and other trash in the past.
However, News 4 New York did find what appeared to be a dirty diaper on a windowsill Monday afternoon.
“It makes people feel bad — they have to step over all kinds of junk and everything,” resident Eileen Stucker said.
In a statement to News 4, NYCHA says: “Keeping NYCHA developments clean is a partnership between our residents and our staff. We’ve already mailed residents and posted flyers throughout this development reinforcing proper garbage disposal methods and will continue to work to keep all canopies clean and clear. Anyone who witnesses this behavior should immediately contact NYCHA by using the MyNychaApp or by calling the CCC at 718-707-7771.”
Due to safety precautions, NYCHA secured a vendor to assist with the cleanup of the overhead canopy.
So they posted flyers. That oughta do it. Hey, look at the bright side: At least they’re not tossing the little mongrels out still wearing the shit filled diapers.
And the downside of that would be????? (I mean obviously, someone below could get hit and possibly die, but otherwise….?)

See that kind of litter in parking lots all the time. Walmart, Target, grocery stores, etc.
Suspect it’s ‘people of color’ and if that’s a rayciss accusation, here’s your proof.
Drive through an affluent city, and look for how much litter you see.

and dispose of it properly, at a later time, somewhere, where it belongs…into a larger trash collection spot.
Contrast that with a drive through the ghetto. Litter everywhere. They just don’t give a flock.

diapers, cigarette butts, etc.
Here’s a novel win-win:
You ought to be obligated to qualify for any type of government handout,
only by spending a proportional time each day or week, cleaning up the places where litter is present on the ground.
Roads, sidewalks, fields, lawns, public squares.
If the need is still there after exhausting all the food stamp recipient forced laborers,
start granting non-violent felons an earned respite from confinement, by getting them outside,
under supervised guards, with modest weapons to recapture, if they try to flee.
Give the felons some fresh air and exercise, and make more of them clean up the highways.
Prevent planned escapes, by disallowing cell phone usage while on litter patrol, and use short notice,
surprise or unscheduled clean up times and days, to thwart pre-planned escape plans by the felons
who have earned litter pick up duty by qualifying with good behavior records while in the joint.
FFS, we pay taxes to house and feed them. Why not put ’em to work?
You’d not be taking someone else’s job. If that’s true, then the paid clean up crews AREN’T doing their jobs.

I have complained about the junk you see on 70th east. Old tube tv’s, sofas, tables, remodeling leftovers, tree limbs, yard dirt, etc. It isn’t just Mexicans. It’s a problem when your Waste Management company eagerly picks up a metal sink and refuses to pick up non-recyclable junk like the kind that ends up on the side of the road. LA picks up all this shit because they are a municipal agency, the Waste Management fucks are not.

Yet another example of how Liberal/Progressive policies have degenerated society to a point where these animals can’t even throw their trash out correctly. As this Fourth Turning hurtles toward it’s climax. I find myself thinking more and more. That I will be fighting these people. At 62 I am physically and mentally in better shape than most men half my age. However I do live in reality. I realize the difficulties of living in the field in the upstate NY winters. Not to mention the stresses of a combat environment. It would be easier for me to just be at my BOL and hope that no trouble comes my way,but that to is probably wishful thinking. Then again that is not my nature. If for no other reason than I just don’t like these people,and their twisted version of what they think America should be. I will fight them. Someone has to do it……
I have often worried that such a fight would occur and that I would be a feeble old man unable to react. While I am old I am still in reasonable shape, stamina will of course not be there, but as you say, someone will have to do it……

The free/subsidized housing crowd don’t value anything because they have no clue what it takes to earn a dollar nor create wealth. Any time you see “public housing” or “project” to describe the living location, are you going to be surprised that they are throwing (literal) shit on the sidewalks where they live? I used to work in a building next door to a state “revenue” office. Primarily people came their for car license issues, etc. People used to pull up to our building all the time thinking it was the “tag office” as everyone called it (despite our company name all over the building). I could see the parking lot from my window. One day a couple pulled into a parking space, got out, realized their mistake, but proceeded to change their rug-rat’s diaper and then left it on the ground when they pulled away. I knew exactly where they were headed. I got some gloves on and a large ziplock bag. I got the diaper, drove over to the tag office and went inside with the package. I spotted them right away. In a really loud voice that everyone in the place heard, I said “HEY, the parking lot is not your personal trash can. Don’t leave your kid’s diapers there for others to have to deal with. What kind of disgusting people are you two??” Mom immediately denied anything. To which I said “Don’t even try it. I took a picture of your license plate and you two changing your kid.” I then set the bag next to them and walked out. I’m sure their time with all of the other folks went quite well.
