Trump is leaving his options open to call a national emergency to build the wall if no deal is reached. He also said he would look at border technology including drones. Furthermore, the wall won’t be a “medieval” wall but will be a “see-through steel” “smart wall” built in “preidentified strategic areas” with features like see-through visibility.
“If we don’t get a fair deal from Congress, the government will either shut down on Feb. 15 again, or I will use the emergency powers…to address this emergency. We will have great security,” Trump said.

He threw in his hat to run as president “for the people,” then gave his acceptance speech “for the people” and now, I think, he is waiting “for the people” to stir up enough outrage at the liberals that public opinion will cry out to convict the criminals and make America great again.
Though he seems to “have the goods,” he also is waiting for the public to rally and make his job easier, in not needing to use his presidential powers to “lock her up,” or “build the wall.” But according to the last election and the fact that the media continues to support and encourage the “witch hunt” unabated, it appears there will not be a tsunami of Americans who will champion the presidents agenda and without the groundswell of support, the president’s option will be to either go off the charts and assert his power through martial law, or just finish out his term (if he can) and go quietly into the night. I think he knows by going for broke, the result could be the tearing apart of the country with the infighting that will result from the sharp division of the American people.
I base all this on his tweets that show he has the evidence to confidently call out each dirt bag, but to date, he isn’t going for any jugular veins just yet. Is he waiting for his popularity to jump higher? If the country remains evenly divided, will he go rouge? Or maybe just throw in the towel and give in, seeing that a majority of “the people” really don’t care.
