Back in February, world-famous street artist Banksy posted several new pieces in Gaza, including a giant kitten, to try to draw some attention to the region.
His public work tends to be snatched up pretty quickly by people looking to make some serious cash. They can typically be sold to collectors for hundreds of thousands of dollars. His “Mobile Lovers” piece went for more than half a million dollars last year.
One man in Gaza probably wishes he had been told that before he let an original Banksy go for a measly $175.
Rabie Dardouna, who owned the door and rubble which Banksy adorned with a piece called “Bomb Damage” (above), pawned it off to a man named Belal Khaled for just the value of the metal. His house was destroyed during an Israeli attack last year.
“I did not know that it was this valuable. I heard it can be sold for millions,” Dardouna told The Guardian. “Now I want the door back.”
Khaled claims he only purchased the door to “protect its artistic value” and isn’t looking to make money off the deal.
He added that he might one day consider displaying it in a gallery to “speak about the suffering of Gaza and the agonies of war.”
Oklahoma City police say they received complaints about the man who was said to be bathing at Reno and Mickey Mantle.
Officers reported finding Jorge Arturo Perez, 23, soaking wet and breathing hard in the city fountain.
Perez told the police he was taking a bath in the fountain and was washing his hair with mayonnaise.

Hallmark has pulled one of its gift wrap designs from stores after complaints that the interlocking lines in the pattern resembled swastikas. A woman in California spotted the paper in the Hanukkah section of a Walgreen’s.
“We apologize for the oversight and apologize to anyone who was offended. That obviously was not our intent,” said Hallmark spokeswoman Julie Elliott. “It was an oversight on our part to not notice the intersecting lines that could be seen as a swastika pattern.”
The design, she said, was originally based on the pattern from a Chinese vase.
Presumably this weeping kitty monstrosity is in reference to her American Music Awards performance in November (a performance that some have gone so far as to say was a commentary on her own internet infamy.) All we know is that this would probably qualify as an Ugliest Tattoo regardless of the celebrity subject, but boy does that help!

I got to tell you FF and your contributions have become my first love/hate relationship. I used to love going through them, but after my accident I just keep finding myself cringing at everyone’s misfortune. Like I’ve said before, in some of these (like the one above) I think we’re watching actual end of life experiences for some of these people. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

Did I see this on another thread? If not I watched it, and really enjoyed the music- but the paintings through the seasons of the farm were mesmerizing. I kept scanning all the details while the music played understanding how the artist loved that place completely. It reminds me of the WPA era painting sof Joseph Meert.
