The new CA governor just cancelled the High Speed rail project from San Francisco to L.A.

The original estimated cost was $40 Billion. Current estimate to complete the project $100 Billion. Hardy har har.

This astronomical amount for a mere 350 miles of rail.

The trip would take 3.5 hours. That’s a little faster than 100mph. That’s high speed???

So, that mule faced Puerto Rican skank really ought to take a look at that before she envisions tens of thousands of miles of high speed rail criss-crossing ‘Murika. Then again, for her it’s just a matter of printing more money …. ‘Murika has plenty of cotton.

Google says L.A. to San Fran is 390 miles in 6 hours, or 65 mph. There are 40 Million people left in California so the cost of that high speed rail line would be $2,500 per Californian. Sapling.com says a California family of five on Welfare gets $1,000 in cash per month. Since it would take about 10 years to build the railroad, California would only need $250 per year or $21 per month per Californian. Welfare could absorb the cost to build a better rail line and save millions of illegal maggots, faggots and spaced out fruitcakes precious minutes of travel time.

stucky,
i was about to post the same thing–
our then governor, now senator, rick scott was given so much hell because he turned down the fed $ to build the rail here in fla–he believed that the rail would be a boondoggle & that after the federal $ ran out,the state would be on the hook for many billions–many uncomplimentary things were said about him by obama, the democrats, and even many republicans–
the $ that would have gone to us went to california to go along w/what they were already allocated–
unbelievable how much $ has already been squandered on this monstrosity–

speaking of ocasio & her green deal, sen markey of massachusetts is the senate sponsor–
i usually detest mitch mcconnell but he is about to do something very smart–
he is allegedly going to call for a senate vote on markey’s bill, and the dems are going crazy because they know how bad it will look for them to have to vote either yes or no on the new green deal–

Looks as tho there may be a competition between Musk and AOC to see who can get us there faster.

Greyhound is efficient; but Amtrak is not and is dirty, government will have to be removed to make rail work.
