THE NARRATIVE

Guest Post by Hardscrabble Farmer

Human beings have specific hungers and desires that drive them. When they are unable to satisfy those drives one way they will necessarily fulfill them another. If one is dying of thirst for example and all that is available is urine or seawater, people will attempt to satisfy that thirst by drinking those liquids regardless of the long term consequences.

Americans made several miscalculations in their social development over the past half century or more. By turning away from God and the concept of a higher power, and by association, judgement, we found ourselves looking to fill that void with whatever most closely resembled God’s judgement as well as His love. The only alternative was the greater power of the State and it’s divine scripture, The Narrative.

The problem with this, much like choosing to consume saltwater, is that the consequences of making that substitution in error was pathological. A state and it’s narratives change over time for reasons of political expediency and changing demographics. They aren’t rooted in truth or absolutes, but on compromises and temporal necessities. What one day was considered the law of the land could change in a matter of years to become anathema. Most normal organisms adapt themselves to their environment quite well, but to radically alter those environments in short time spans causes a great deal of stress, often leading to a mal-adaptation and systemic failure.

That’s what we’re seeing. The armies of the obese are people eating foods that offer no nutrition and so their hunger tells them that they are starving and they continue to feed it increasingly larger amounts of non-nutritive feed. People starving for truth and judgement living in a world without God seek either to silence the conscience through drugs, sex, and alcohol, or search for an equivalent morality to replace Him, often the values system promoted by TPTB- anti-racism, feminism, open borders, etc.

The people advocating a race neutral world are every bit as much Puritans as those first colonists that inhabited our shores. It is a belief in a system that offers no evidence, that must be accepted as an article of faith and adhered to despite the fact that no evidence for it’s existence exists beyond the The Narrative itself- a modern form of scriptural truth.

Those who promote it know full well that there is no satisfaction, no nourishment to be found in the belief, but that the human desire to believe is so strong, absent something authentic- like God- they will feed upon it as if it were what their souls longed for. They have become spiritually corpulent on an empty diet of platitudes and fiction.

Don’t forget all narratives are not chronological. Some have been written, rewritten and plagiarized since Word One.

Fortunately, the Author and Finisher is not restricted by a timeline.

I’m guessing this was a response to another comment which got elevated? If it wasn’t, I apologize for thinking it began as if answering someone else. If I followed the logic I would look for a post about obesity and processed foods to verify.

I’m not gonna do that. I’ll just pull out a comment and leave it at that.

Boundaries. They are good things to give to herd animals and children. Otherwise, they will begin to mingle.

It was a comment, but on what I disremember. My point was that we have hunger- driving needs- for a purpose, to fill a void within us. Some of those hungers satisfy the physical in order to keep the body alive and fit, others which feed the soul, has it’s own needs. Simply filling those hungers with whatever is available doesn’t satisfy which leads to pathological outcomes. You cannot rid the human experience from those things it craves, but you can pervert the forms which satisfy. Remember the stories about the Haitians eating mud pies after the earthquake? America is suffering from a spiritual holomodor, a man-made mass starvation of our souls and all that’s being offered is a man-made morality mud pie.

I thought it deserved a stand alone post, and I see Mr. Quinn did. Kudos, again. Wise words.

An alignment toward an all powerful Universe Creator and the Natural Laws He established brings an individual into harmony with this power, resulting in a happy, purposeful life.

Spectator sports, addictions, and The Church Of Global Warming have become a substitute for this harmonious God alignment. Thus the chaos of the satanic circus we see as life in the year 2019.

P.S. They are closing 518 just east of town on Monday. We will be ” Under The Dome “for the next year at least.

All my best artifact hunting sites run along the 518 line up to Blawenburg. Hook a left there heading out to Carrier Clinic and they run all along the base of Sourland Mountain. There’s a huge quarry site for argillite up at the top of Indian Castle.

Yup. When I was more spry I would hike out to that quarry and jump around on the rock pile at the end of the trail. Arthritis and a trick knee put a stop to that. Hope your recovery is moving along.

Thanks for the clarification, HSF. We be doing lots of work on a place where no work was done for fifty years except a few horses and cows and feral hogs. Mountain lions and coyotes, but not the clever or wily kind. The mangy, loathsome diseased predators which are found in the shadows here, just as they are found scavenging in urban jungles. The industrious fellow over the hillside has killed more than 100 of them in the past 3 years. Well, he and his wife and three children have killed them. Incredibly resilient folks. Glad to know them. And you.

Oh, and I’m glad I AM and God showed up… if the Holy Ghost would just pop on and comment on the narrative your propose, He could probably tie the plot points up nicely.

Here to the east of you in Appalachia coyotes appeared unexpectedly several years ago. They wiped out the woodchuck population in short order. They also thinned down the exploding white tail deer herds. A doe with two fawns often lost one to the new predators. These were large, healthy critters with thick, glossy coats, well fed. I hear them howling in the evening but there are still plenty of deer and the ‘chucks are beginning to reappear. People took up hunting and snaring coyotes, for sport and to protect their sheep, so their numbers have been kept in check. We have for now something of a balance between predator and prey.

Do you have the pests showing up from Texas and Oklahoma? I’m talking about armadillos, coyote…not you and your relatives!

I thought we were far enough north to stop seeing them, but I still see one or two here and there. How about you? Have they infiltrated your neck of the woods?

Death by armadillo!

A great video short I have posted before that discusses exactly this attempt by most of us at some point and time in this materialistic consumer driven CULTure, to fill that hole with fleeting things….believing we are alone when in fact we were made in His image and the only reason we feel alone is because our sin has separated part of us from Him, luckily the Holy Spirit is available to Comfort us if we only set our pride aside and ask for help.

Beautifully written, and true. At one time, gaining knowledge was considered a good because it allowed us to contemplate the divine more fully. Now, knowledge has but one end, to gain power and dominate Nature. We have seen the results of man’s attempt to re-make this world in his own image, without any referent to things above him, and without gratitude. And despite the rise of obesity, insanity, dysphorias of all stripes, ugliness, and world weariness, even among the young, we are told by our Handlers that this is Good. Progressive. It is remarkable, but it seems to be the case that it is much easier to redefine ugliness as beauty, than it is to create something beautiful in the first place.

Both Spengler and Yockey touched on the difference between creation and utility- the term ‘technics’- to describe the outcome of every culture that reaches it’s zenith based on it’s technological superiority. They forget why things are created, for example a knife, and instead search for a use that is focused solely on the utile. Soon they begin to perceive it as merely a technic, a tool for imposing the will of The State upon it’s populations; look at England and their current perception of knives.

When a culture is healthy and flourishing men create because they are imbued with the spirit of their time and place to bring something new into the world because they are curious, they flow within the river of a common destiny that flows with the service of purpose. They are, quite literally, tapping into the Divine. Invention at that level is more than anything else a discovery of what should be rather than what can we do with it.

As the culture begins to fail, as it’s primacy is in it’s decline- and most empires are in decline even as they reach the peak of their power, they simply cannot recognize it-those inventions and creations, everything from music and art to science and communications become subordinate to the elites quest to accrue or remain in power. The knife made for cutting meat for the table become swords meant for beheading troublesome dissenters. A communications network previously designed to bring people closer together becomes an instrument of the surveillance state used to spy on people and drive a wedge between them. Nothing that had it’s roots in the flourishing of that culture is left unused in order to hollow it out and necrotize the body politic.

And that’s where we are today. Every positive, beautiful, original and important discovery, invention, creation or artwork has been used as it was intended, but that every one of them is forced into service of the dysgenic and corrupted culture which allowed it’s birth.

You are channeling GKC, Hardscrabble…..

“The sceptic ultimately undermines democracy (1) because he can see no significance in death and such things of a literal equality; (2) because he introduces different first principles, making debate impossible: and debate is the life of democracy; (3) because the fading of the images of sacred persons leaves a man too prone to be a respecter of earthly persons; (4) because there will be more, not less, respect for human rights if they can be treated as divine rights.” – G. K. Chesterton, Illustrated London News, Jan. 13, 1912

It’s also why he fears death – hence the rise in technocracy & the quest for immorality through his own creations. Think ‘young blood’ transfusions, neural lace & brain chip implants. At last, he will ‘be as god’ – maybe the 1st lie ever heard by mankind.

“every bit as much Puritans” who believed that the New World should be a ‘sanctified’ ‘Shinning City on a Hill’.

The State also is a jealous god.

Romans Chap.1

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, spiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful…

Back up just a little…

Romans 1:18-21 KJB… “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”

All I can say is… boom! Nailed it.

I am reminded of “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” by Jonathan Edwards.

“O sinner! Consider the fearful danger you are in: it is a great furnace of wrath, a wide and bottomless pit, full of the fire of wrath, that you are held over in the hand of that God, whose wrath is provoked and incensed as much against you, as against many of the damned in hell. You hang by a slender thread, with the flames of divine wrath flashing about it, and ready every moment to singe it, and burn it asunder; and you have no interest in any Mediator, and nothing to lay hold of to save yourself, nothing to keep off the flames of wrath, nothing of your own, nothing that you ever have done, nothing that you can do, to induce God to spare you one moment.”

I suspect that this sermon is as appropriate today as it was then. I have no idea why I was reminded of this sermon but for your exeptional essays. Your inner Jonathan Edwards is being projected knowingly or unknowingly. Something makes me believe that it is knowingly. Thank you for writing!

EXCELLENT musings as usual sir.
Hope the ankle is almost repaired in full.
The current around the clock 24 / 7 entertainment industry is always reaching for new product on the gadgets to keep the ignorant masses hooked. I cringed at the new phony reality series to be cranked out, men and women locked on an island to see who gets to copulate with who. The Stupidly overpaid athletes, many really very talented of course, made instant multi millionaires from the revenue of stadium seat sales, and big time sharing from adverts selling beer, flavored sugar water and potato chips.

Martin Armstrong has some fresh stats of interest on this subject, and the pendulum looks to be swinging.

I hear ya HSF. After 15 years of auto shop management I was officially on the way out. I had replaced God with stress and my coping was booze. Swelled up to 387 lbs. Could not do my job could not walk up stairs. Last year around this time I had reached the bottom. I had not felt HIS PRESENCE in a long time.

You see what I found out is that when you walk with GOD and suddenly he is no longer felt, you need to see who moved. It was not GOD that moved. It was me. With so much stress and so much pain in my life I had no time for HIM.

The other thing I found out is that GOD will return IF YOU ASK HIM. He actually promises this to us.

In one year I have gone from 387 to 265. I can exercise and I can FEEL HIS PRESENCE!

I FEEL GREAT.
