50 Actual College Courses That Prove That America’s Universities Are Training Students To Become Socialists

Authored by Michael Snyder via The End of The American Dream blog,

What in the world are they teaching to our young people?  As you go through the list of college course titles below, I am sure that many of you will be completely shocked.  Most parents assume that they are sending their children to college to get prepared for their future careers, but the truth is that a lot of our major colleges and universities have become little more than indoctrination centers for progressive thought.  Our college students are literally being systematically trained to be socialists, and it is working.

According to a brand new Harris Poll that was just released, 37.2 percent of all Americans “prefer living in a socialist country”.  But for Millennials and Generation Z combined, that figure is 49.6 percent.  That means that essentially half of our young adults want to be socialists, and that has enormous implications for the future of our society.

So how did this happen?

Well, the truth is that it really isn’t a mystery.  Progressives have a stranglehold on higher education in the United States, and they are training future generations of leaders to think just like them.

Young America’s Foundation has just released their yearly report on the craziest college courses in America, and I pulled some examples out of that report that demonstrate how bad things have gotten.

This system of “higher education” has produced Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and millions of young radical leftists just like her.

And even though she has only been in Congress for a little more than two months, AOC is already one of the most popular politicians in America.

Unfortunately, she is tremendously disgusted with capitalism.  In fact, according to NBC News she just told a large crowd that capitalism “cannot be redeemed”…

She dismissed concern about the government taking over corporations, which she said she doesn’t favor, by saying “corporations have already taken over our government.”

Instead, she said, her view of democratic socialism emphasizes making everything, politics and the economy, more democratic. And she said capitalism — which she defined as an ideology of “putting profit above of everything else in society” — “cannot be redeemed.”

Is this where our country is headed?

Is there any hope that we can return to the values that this nation was founded upon?

We better hope so, because those values helped us to become the greatest nation on the entire planet.  I really like how Trish Regan made this point in her recent piece

America is losing its way amid this socialism madness. The new alt-left’s mob-like insanity is spinning a lie– a lie that capitalism is bad and that capitalists are bad.

Capitalism has made us what and who we are as an economyand as a nation.

Alexander Hamilton said during the founding years of our great republic:

“True liberty, by protecting the exertions and talents of industry, and securing to them their justly acquired fruits, tends more powerfully than any other cause to augment the mass of national wealth and to produce the mischiefs of opulence.” – Alexander Hamilton, “Defense of the Funding System,” July 1795, in Papers of Alexander Hamilton, Vol. 19, p. 32.

I very much agree with her.  As a nation, we are definitely losing our way.

Hopefully we can find our way back, because the path that we are currently on doesn’t lead anywhere good.

This is what you get when you let parasites in your midst.
This is the end result of WW2, making the world safe for communism.
This is what you get after allowing The Frankfort School marxists into the universities.

These degree-granting bastions of academic excellence often cost tens of thousands of dollars a year to be matriculated and study such progressive course offerings.

This might prove that a prerequisite to getting so educated takes a fucking idiot.

That one doesn’t sound so bad, assuming there are visual aids to help in the understanding.

Apprenticeship, apprenticeship, apprenticeship. Quit wasting your fucking time and money in Western colleges and find a specialist in a critical skill.

Gee, when I went to college, the first year classes were Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, English and PE (which included running, and drown proofing – not swimming).
I saw one formal protest the entire time, some Iranians protested (during the hostage crisis) for about 30 minutes. They either caught abuse by other students, or went back to studying afterwards.

Why is everyone so surprised at the leftward tilt of Gen Z? The Democrats and their make believe opposition Republicans have been pushing socialism since at least FDR. Hell, I knew that when I was 18 and that was 60 years ago. Since my generation dropped the ball somebody else must fix the mess we have made.

I only had time to look at a couple of the courses cited, and they don’t necessarily advocate socialism. Like a World War II historian reading Mein Kampf does not make her a fascist, It would be difficult for any historian to understand 20th & 21st century world politics without understanding Marxism.

“University of Florida: POT 4053 Great Political Thinkers: Machiavelli to Marx
Studies selected political theorists from Machiavelli to Marx. Emphasizes the ideas of authority and freedom, obligation and consent in the writing of Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, etc. Liberalism, conservatism, utilitarianism and idealism.”

“University of Minnesota: CSCL 3405—Marx for Today This course provides students with an introduction to Marxist theory, with particular attention to its relevance for the contemporary world. The course will focus on Marx’s writings themselves as well as a range of applications and case studies as they relate to gender, race, ethnicity, and social inequality. Among the many topics to be considered include topics like modes of production, labor, profit and surplus value, slavery and race, gender and domestic labor, finance capital and crisis, and environmental sustainability. Students will be required to take two exams, in addition to completing a final paper. It is a discussion-based course, and active participation, close reading, and analytical writing will be expected.”

It’s not capitalism that needs to be the target, but corporatism. Socialism is not the answer. Get the corporations out of politics. We are not represented, they are.

Wha????? They left out the University of California Santa Cruz? The only University with the History of Consciousness major? Angela Davis Huey Newton and all the rest of the gang?

Course Samplings:
The Radical Right, A Symptom Of Capitalism
Making The Refugee Century: Non-Citizens And Modernity
Queerness And Race
Radical Political Theory
Marxism And Feminism
Feminist Theory And The Law
Critical Race/Ethnic Studies
Marx’s Capital Vol. 1
Black Critical Theory
Rethinking Capitalism
Property And Possession
and on and on. There are about 50 of these courses and that doesn’t count the required courses
in other departments , I forget, something like “Intro to Social Protesting and Activism”.

I don’t think these guys who wrote this article did their homework. I feel left out.

At tonight’s city council meeting they will decide
a) to issue a grant to a radical tenants group headed up by 5 of the most active SJW’ers to provide legal aid to illegal immigrants in their fight against oppressive landlords.
b) Send letter of reprimand about the recent ICE raid.
c) Declare a state of emergency so rule of law can be suspended to allow homeless camping on a variety of city government owned property within 25′ of any residence voiding sanitation laws, environmental laws, coastal commission authority, whatever the people say or think about any of this.

Could they possibly be related? HaHa (not funny) I live in a hell hole of socialism.
