But you can’t justify life-long pensions, long summer vacations, guaranteed employment, and a massive, bloated, overpaid bureaucracy, if you actually achieve the goal of educating a child in only 50 hours of quality instruction.
I was so blessed to have gone to a Montessori school for my first years of schooling. Truly their focus was on teaching kids how to learn and then turning them loose without limits (but with guidance where needed). Multiple “grades” were in each classroom, so there was not only the ability to learn at one’s own pace, but the opportunity and requirement to aid others in their learning, thus reinforcing the knowledge through the instruction of others. It truly has made all the difference in my life.
