Sorry, I don’t know exactly where this comment can go but today in Leftymostville (Santa Cruz) it
was announced that the public is invited to work the fields, stack compost, harvest, “fun for the entire family” on the local “Homeless Garden Project” to celebrate Cesar Chavez day. They are a partially city funded, big developer not using the land for now sponsored, homeless freebie work farm that sells everything downtown in a farmers market. Not sure how many graduates they have, socialism in action, and really is the best of the best we have here in that they work anyway.
But, it sure is weird that only in Santa Cruz the homeless get someone else to do their work, while celebrating a great man who was dedicated to UNION farm workers (and his thugs kinda beat the tar out of illegal farm workers).
In other news, the city council approved making Santa Cruz an officially sanctioned Homeless RV Park and Campground opening up the first of many planned city parcels to homeless camping in the neighborhoods, the first a parking lot of a park, at least conveniently located next to the police station. It seems they have to spend the 10 million dollars they got declaring a state of emergency or they have to give the money back, and the NGO’s on the take have already claimed it, including religious groups now working for the government (the constitution doesn’t get a lot of read here, but here there are Das Capital Facebook reading groups that use community centers for a good read now and then ,so far the satanic groups haven’t gotten in on the gravy train yet). In other news the county admitted they spent (actually conned defrauded? Medi-cal out of) 26 million dollars to take care of TEN injection infections junkie homeless cases (out of 51 million total like them), and the city says it can’t enforce criminal law (camping in public) unless 100% of the homeless have shelter.
It is openly discussed that the public must be “educated and conditioned” to accept homeless in every neighborhood, start small with pilot programs, get them used to it.
Oh well, never mind, you probably didn’t need to hear that anyway.
