Watch: American Students Support Socialism… But Not When It Comes To Their GPAs

Authored by Cabot Phillips via Campus Reform,

With far left candidates and policies on the rise in America, it’s no surprise that for the first time ever, more young people say they’d prefer to live in a socialist country over a capitalist one.

Whether it’s free healthcare, free college tuition, or universal basic income, students around America increasingly support higher taxes on the wealthy in order to pay for these progressive policies.  But would they support similar policies if they had skin in the game?

To find out, Campus Reform‘s Cabot Phillips went to Florida International University in Miami to test the waters on a “Socialist GPA” policy in which students with higher GPAs would be forced to “spread the wealth” and give some of their GPA points to students with lower GPAs.

Despite the overwhelming number of students who initially said they’d support socialist policies, few agreed to go along with such a plan.

“I’m all for helping, but I wouldn’t give some of my points… I’ve lost a lot of sleep so I don’t know if that would be fair,” one student said…

…while another answered no because “I like, study all day for my grades.”

Yet another student, after expressing her support for socialism in America conceded, “I guess it would be kind of hypocritical for me to say no.”

Another student, trying to justify his refusal to abide by such a policy, said, “you study for your grades, and they reflect how much time you’re studying.”

What did the rest of the students have to say when asked why it was any different when it came to spreading the financial wealth?

Another good tactic might be to approach them with the idea of taking student loan money from the person being interviewed and distributing it to other students, while leaving the person being interviewed with the debt to pay off.

This doesn’t address a myriad of things that make our system unbalanced or fraudulent. Those closer to the money spigot get 90% of the rewards. Much ill gotten. Ask if their willing to give blowjobs for better grades.

That’s not fair Balls. Anyone who is willing to give blowjobs is going to get better grades…regardless of the sex of the people involved in the transaction. How bad do you want those better grades?

My point was to show that some get more by doing less. Or by circumventing the system as it is supposed to work.

And THAT is my fundamental problem with the approach of the GOP in presenting ANYTHING to the masses. They seem UNWILLING to acknowledge the crony capitalism that drives the system (mostly because they are, themselves, benefiting), and so when they talk about “prosperity” and “capitalism,” their arguments ring hollow to the masses, who watch crony capitalism rule the day. Additionally, they don’t vote in support of freedom, liberty, free markets, etc. but vote for more crony capitalism.

The ‘pubs are different in that they understand there is only so much of the good stuff to go around and they demand to get theirs first, by which time the well is dry.

Typical socialists; generous with other people’s assets. “Sure give everyone a big slice, as long as you don’t gore my ox.” Astounding how they use the precise same logic as a conservative would to dismiss the idea of giving some of their GPA to less industrious colleagues. “Give it away? I worked hard for this while he did nothing! No way!” Then when that’s pointed out to them they stutter then mumble something about how it’s not the same.

The young & dumb buying into the socialism/communion is a sick, scary trend. Portends not so good for the future.

Much like progtard Swedes, who are all for allowing the wave of invaders in, interviewed on camera,
until they’re asked to accept one, or a family of 4 muslims into their own home, immediately.
Then, the hemming and hawing with illegitimate excuses. NIMBY all of a sudden.
Lofty ideals on the moral high ground, but very shallow conviction of personal sacrifice to manifest it.
And even if a few did decide to have the courage of their convictions, those who refuse to go along, and see danger in that, should not be made to bear some of that load. You take ’em. I’d rather not.
Likewise, I’ll keep what I worked for (GPA), and refuse to give mandated portions away to slacker leeches.

Hypocrisy seems to be the coin of the leftist realm. I wonder how often AOC rides the subway outside her office door? Oh, that’s right, we just found out…. never.
-Al Gore flying commercial?
-Armed guards for any politician who demands “sensible gun reform”?
-High fences and heavy security at their residence?
-etc……Hmmmmmm………….

Don’t confuse this clowns with logic. Expect that their answers would be the same if all of their hard work resulted in a great income. I would absolutely favor RAISING the voting age to 25 just so that some of this rampant stupidity could be beaten out of them with a nice 9-5 for a few years.

I vote for age 31; you know, what Uncle Joe keeps telling the little girls he fondles: “don’t date until you are 31”. There must be some truth in that one.
