By pretending to support free markets, libertarian values, etc. while voting for crony capitalism and socialist programs like government monopoly schooling, etc. the Republicans have done more to lay the foundation for support of socialism than any other group in the nation. You simply cannot be in bed with the pharmaceutical cartel, the oil cartel, the insurance cartel, the western medicine cartel, the bigAgra cartel, the auto cartel, and so many others, and ever make a sound, principled case for free markets in opposition to socialism or greater government control of markets (economic fascism). One can be as upset as they want about Bernie, or the fact that so many are embracing his “plans,” but he is simply a product of the failure of others to both correctly explain free markets and to VOTE FOR AND SUPPORT THEM once elected.
