Antibiotic-Resistant Superbugs Could Become A Bigger Killer Than Cancer

Authored by Mac Slavo via SHTFplan.com,

Antibiotic resistance is becoming a larger problem in developed parts of the world such as the United States.  The overuse of antibiotics has caused a sort of evolution effect to occur in certain types of bacteria.  They have become much harder to kill with antibiotics, evolving into what’s been dubbed “superbugs.”

The Daily Mail reported that in little more than 30 years, antibiotic-resistance may be more deadly than cancer around the globe.  At least 23,000 people in the US die of an antibiotic-resistant infection each year – and some estimates suggest it’s far more. By 2050, some projections suggest that drug resistance, in general, will claim the lives of 10 million people. That’s more than the 8.2 million that die of cancer worldwide each year.

Superbugs, or bacteria that has mutated and evolved to withstand modern medicine (antibiotics), are a growing threat worldwide. Their ever-increasing numbers are fueled by over-prescription, waste from drug manufacturing plants, antibiotic use in animals, and even international travel.

But don’t expect Big Pharma or the government to reign it in. There’s just too much money in drugs for either entity to care much about it.  We’ll have to take action as a society on our own. The first step you can take is to make sure you understand what an antibiotic is for and what it cannot do. Antibiotics cannot fight viral infections such as the common cold or the flu. Talk with a doctor and get an understanding of what it is you’re fighting. Never take antibiotics for a viral infection.

The symptoms of viral and bacterial infections are often difficult to distinguish from one another, and patients – especially the parents of pediatric patients – hate being told to go home empty-handed.

So doctors began to prescribe ‘harmless’ antibiotics to anyone with symptoms like a runny nose, a fever, and a headache, which could be caused either by a mild bacterial infection or a viral one like the common cold. –Daily Mail

Most doctors are seeing more resistant infections every day, forcing them to resort to more powerful drugs of last resort or simply to lose patients, the Daily Mail reports.

“You can still walk into pharmacies around the world and buy antibiotics, including colistin,” a powerful broad-spectrum drug with dangerous side effects that is sometimes used to treat resistant infections, says Dr. Jason Newland, a Washington University St Louis pediatrician, and antimicrobial stewardship specialist.

“It’s one of the major drivers [of antibiotic resistance], that if you want an antibiotic, you could go to India right now and buy it and use it inappropriately,” said Newland.

The rise of superbugs is not unprecedented, however, it shouldn’t be overlooked either. Keeping yourself healthy through good nutrition and exercise just might be the simple short term answer.  But evaluation of medical and prescription drug procedures should occur as well if any useful correction to this problem is to made.

It’d be a damn shame if this took hold in the Middle East.

Heh, that ‘s funny.
Then again, what most folk don’t realize is how much antibiotics are pumped into the livestock. It makes them fat, it protects against the sordid conditions most are placed in and….it goes into you when you eat the livestock. The object is to keep away from crowds as much as possible. I have a friend who drives a school bus, used to drive a school bus. She quit because she got tired of the little darlings and their constant flow of communicable diseases.

By 2050? Gimme a break!

You can’t extrapolate thirty years into the future. A lot can happen in the next thirty years. This is typical SHTFPlan doom porn.

Check this out, I use it and keep lots of it around.

MANUKA HONEY EFFECTIVE AGAINST ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT MRSA

http://www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/manuka-honey-effective-against-antibiotic-resistant-mrsa

Scientists have been warning of a possible medical catastrophe from an epidemic of antibiotic resistant superbugs. Manuka honey may be a natural and ancient solution to a modern health disaster.

Its not cheap but a few jars stashed could be worth its weight in GOLD…

I have an 82 year old friend, retired Pastor who used it to cure a terrible staff infection.

This and Colloidal Silver are in my prep stash…and I use both to enhance my immune system.

Colloidal silver is a good thing to have around too. Of course letting in hordes of turd worlders both legally and illegally isn’t going to help this situation.

KaD, ILuvCO2,

I swear by Colloidal Silver…plagued with regular upper respiratory chest infections my entire adult life until I discovered it about 4 or 5 years ago…not one since. Not one head cold either and I was usually also good for two of them a year before.

It will also take a Shingles break out and cut the time in half and as well as the pain. I take it internally (under my tongue) as well as dab it directly on the Shingles.

Used it on an infection after a tooth was pulled instead of the anti-biotics prescribed…it worked.

It is amazing, Big Pharma and their bought and paid for FDA downplay it because if widely used it would cost them billions. Many to most MedicalComplex doctors follow tow the Big Pharma line in just perscribing more anti-biotics and don’t even know its actual history or the proven science behind it.

I have posted this before, this is the best book on it out of the three I have and have read.

This is interesting:
THE HISTORY OF COLLOIDAL SILVER

Colloidal silver has been around a long time. It was used extensively in the 20th century until antibiotics became popular and relegated the use of silver in general to relative obscurity. Colloidal silver wasn’t patentable; drugs were. Profits were made in selling a patented product. And some silver compounds had side effects if used improperly. They could cause argyria, a cosmetic skin condition which could cause the skin to turn a blue/gray color.

With the present day problems of bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics, colloidal silver is making a resurgence in popularity and use. One of the reasons for the renewed interest is the fact that bacteria and viruses are not resistant to contact with silver. Colloidal silver may be the magic bullet for mankind if antibiotics are no longer useful. Colloidal silver was used to cure and/or treat many diseases before being replaced with antibiotics.

What was thought to be the end of infectious diseases was accomplished in the 1940’s. With the advent of penicillin, they were thought to be a problem of the past. How wrong they were!

It turned out that many bacteria were able to breed new and more powerful strains that were resistant to the “new” antibiotics over time. By the 1990’s it was obvious that antibiotics were not going to take care of our infectious diseases. Some diseases which were becoming resistant were various strains of Pneumococcus, Tuberculosis and Gonorrhea to mention a few.

40,000 to 50,000 Americans will die from Streptococcus pneumoniae each year. And it’s not the drug resistant strain that’s doing the killing. It’s the regular strain. What’s going to happen when the drug resistant strain hits us? It will be worse than you can imagine. This disease can manifest in many ways. It can cause middle ear infection in children besides causing death in older persons. It’s responsible for half the visits to pediatricians each year. It is the major cause of middle ear infections in children. It’s also a major cause of death in older persons.

Staphylococcus aureus is another disease that is taking over the hospitals in America. There are many strains and some are drug resistant to almost all antibiotics. There is apparently only one antibiotic left that works, Vancomycin. When that one quits working, what will be left to the doctor’s arsenal? Not much. Another strong antibiotic is Methycillin. Staph is now becoming resistant to it and is called MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureas).

One of the real problems has been that patients ask for and sometimes get antibiotics when they aren’t called for, such as for the common cold and other viral infections. This has led to the proliferation of these drug resistant strains of bacteria. Viruses don’t respond to antibiotics, so prescribing them is futile and should not be done, but it is used by too many doctors. Sometimes to pacify patients, sometimes to second guess the problem. It’s called the “shotgun” approach. Throw whatever you’ve got at the problem and maybe you’ll hit the target. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn’t. We can blame the problem on too much use of antibiotics when they are not called for.

Drug resistant strains of these, and other bacteria are becoming more commonplace. It is only a matter of time until we have diseases we cannot control.

Colloidal silver is the drug that may be our best bet for surviving these terrible diseases. It is so powerful that bacteria, viruses and even some fungi cannot live in contact with colloidal silver over 6 minutes.

Silver has been used for healing for centuries. The Greeks and Romans kept liquids in silver jars. During the plagues in Europe, many royal families escaped disease because they ate off silver plates and used silver utensils. It was used by the American pioneers to keep water and milk from spoiling or becoming contaminated. It is used by NASA to purify water in the space shuttle. Russia also uses it in their space shuttle. It is used by some airlines to purify water on flights. Thin silver foil is still used in India and China to wrap portions of food in. The food and silver wrap are eaten together. Silver is used in most of the burn centers in the U.S. and has been used to prevent blindness in newborn infant’s eyes for many years.

Thanks Aug, I appreciate that.

Here are three small bottles of what is considered probably the top brand. I’m getting ready to start making it. It’s not difficult or expensive.

CS is huge in the Prepper Community for obvious reasons.

1. For Kids:

2. For Adults:

3. For Pets:

I also have used what is below for a bad tic bite (red and swollen) that got infected (on my balls no less…yikes) and it cured it in less than a week completely. Once again I avoided getting pumped full of anti-biotics at the VA:

Last but not least here is what the soap can do for you.

Colloidal Silver Soap Use:
http://colloidalsilveruse.com/5/colloidal-silver-soap-use/

As a serious Prepper I have all the various types and brands stashed but making it is the way to go over the long run. I’ve done heavy research on CS and used it on myself…it is one way to go around the medical complex that works on a host of bad bacteria, viruses and fungus.

When TSHTF just around the 4th corner this type of Prep will be life saving for those who get ready now and their families and friends.

I’m making sure I have more than enough to share.

Just another reason to have rigorous inspections including visas, shot records, and medical spot checks processing for EVERYONE entering the country. Illegal aliens are known to be bringing in diseases that had been eradicated in America just 50 years ago; Tuberculosis, Measles, and Scarlet Fever among them.

None other than the well known Fascism-leaning PBS reported this:

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/health/diseases-thought-eradicated-reappear-u-s

Additionally, other rare, exotic and murderous bugs and viruses are continually being brought into circulation by ease-of-travel and with kind assistance from “Do-Gooders” from garden spots in Africa and Asia including hemorrhagic fevers Ebola & Marburg, Whooping Cough, and everyone’s all-time favourite: Plague. Yep, Yersinia pestis bacteria riding in style on the wings of airliners from Shithole countries and we are just too welcoming to keep this grave threat out.

While I am certainly interested in the evolution of superbugs and serious diseases in the coming decades, I am actually immediately concerned about real and current health threats that just pass by borders and hygiene controls because it is insensitive to the needs of refugees, migrants, illegal aliens.

SCREW THAT & SCREW THEM.

Build the cordon sanitaire to keep these diseases and the carriers OUTSIDE of the county. The health of The Public demands it.

The writer’s second sentence is not entirely accurate. The real problem is not ‘overuse’, but rather gross ‘misuse’. Early on, when a doctor prescribed an antibiotic, he/she did not stress to the patient that it was vital he/she take the entire sequence of prescribed medication. This is because completing the whole set of medication would have killed off All, or Almost All of the invading bacteria. But most patients, including myself, as a young person, had a tendency of halting the procedure when the symptoms disappeared. This allowed far more of the bugs to survive, and create others that mutated to the point where they were immune to that particular antibiotic.

By the time the medical profession realized that patient’s failure to completely follow through was a huge problem, the antibiotic was losing its potency. The chickens had left the coop, and were continually producing more immune ones. Eventually, more antibiotics had to be developed so as to kill off the ones immune to previous antibiotics.

If I remember correctly, I had read this in Nature years ago as a graduate student.

I read The Killers Within: The Deadly Rise Of Drug-Resistant Bacteria in the 90s. As a key subject antibiotic use is discussed in this nonfiction science book, but so is the marketing of antibacterial products such as antibacterial soap. At a minimum, I was not able to discourage others from using antibacterial soap, nor was I able to convince them to read the book for themselves.

It would be great if people around me knew how their immune system works. Often when co-workers become sick, they start drinking OJ or ask their physicians for prescriptions. What they do not realize is an immune system needs all bioavailable nutrients DAILY, and before hand, to defend against infections.

For this purpose, I prefer bee pollen granules (bioavailable nutrients), maintaining hydration and washing my hands consistently with regular or handcrafted soap. My co-workers consider OTC vitamins as their go to. And they politely smile at me when I say OTC vitamins and many over-priced vitamins contain rock minerals and I have read our bodies require bioavailable nutrients from plants and animals, not rock-based products. It has been my hope a few would at least look the information up, because I do not want them to needlessly suffer. They have not.

I once read cadavers of beekeepers in Europe had excellent cardiovascular systems, etc.

For the OTC vitamins above, I should have written synthetic vitamins/mineral combo.

Super bugs have been created by us – probably not deliberately – much to the disappointment of the conspiracy theorists – but we did create the super bugs in our ignorance (deliberate or not).

So lets avoid confusion, a super bug is simply a normal bug that has become stronger and therefore more capable of surviving antibiotics or what have you. Strangely enough, no one seemed to ask why are the normal bugs getting stronger (super bugs) ? Even though we claim to be authoritative in the realms of evolution, no body seemed to consider the link between super bugs and our ridiculous use of “anti bac soaps, etc).

Now, consider how we use vaccinations. We introduce a small amount of disease and let the body fight it. The precise same process has been used to fight disease using antibiotics. Because people did not follow the medical advice and complete the course of tablets, and because antibiotics became available on the internet and therefore no longer issued under the correct circumstances, within the space of less than 100 years, our antibiotics are almost useless to the newer strains of bugs. Silly western human beings.

Nature has a very simple rule regarding survival (this includes bugs and bacteria which are also part of nature), evolve or die. So the bacteria is evolving in direct response to the attack on them by antibiotics. It’s no wonder they are getting stronger. At the same time, because we ingest the antibiotics, we are also weakening our own immune systems! So there is a critical point, probably not too far away, whereby no only do we have strong disease, we also have weaker immune systems! It’s no secret that antibiotics do not “target” the disease, instead, its kills everything which is why you are weaker and more vulnerable when taking them.

If anyone has paid attention, they may have noticed the rise of the +4 week cold or infection. 3 decades ago, a cold lasted 3 days! And a really bad cold lasted 1 week. This will get worse in the countries where the doctors have basically become legalized drug-dealers for the pharmaceutical companies.

Interestingly, in countries where medicines are used to help assist the bodies natural defenses (i.e. strengthen the immune system) rather than attacking the disease directly, do NOT suffer from this problem.
