This Post Actually Wrote Itself

We were coming home from the doctors office this morning when this song came up on the playlist.  The two of us just marveled at how prescient the lyrics are.

Everybody knows.  Every body knows.

But of course, not everybody knows and that is the problem.  The only thing that everybody actually knows is that they are entitled to their opinion.  And they are as long as that opinion conforms to certain standards.  Those standards are set by other people.  People from San Francisco, or people from Washington or people from Paris or Moscow.  Of course, we can all have opinions about every decision that they make, but let’s face it.  We really don’t know.

The only thing we really know is that …

But we can never see what is behind the locked door where the guards with guns protect the people who do know.  The press, yappy little dogs with big tits, sit outside the room and wait for someone to tell them what they are supposed to be yapping about.  We, several layers of manure down from the sunlight, only get the lies that are sprinkled on the manure at the top of the heap, the press.  Then it seeps like rainwater through shit down to us where we wonder at the inconsistency.  How could it possibly have any consistency?  Even if they knew what they were doing in that locked room with guards, and that is almost surely not the case, we can never know for sure why they did what they did, and when they did it.

It sure is frustrating.

But everybody knows.  Well not everybody, and certainly not us.  That is what makes this one of the great songs of our times.

No; when you know the lie is a lie, you don’t listen. You look around you, and believe what you see. ‘Economy’s booming? Meh… It’s better than when Obummer was in office, but unless you’re playing the Wall St Casino, it hasn’t changed much. There are more cars on the freeway, which means more people are working. They’re also traveling farther to find that work. The housing market? There are some houses going up, but not like they were before the crash. That’s good for where I live, unless you’re in construction. The houses were going up so fast that the roads couldn’t handle the traffic of the new residents! Illegal immigration? NO ONE is doing ANYTHING about illegal immigration. This was, is, and will be the hot-button issue that comes up at every election, where millions of illegals will illegally vote for the people who illegally let them infest our neighborhoods. That is, of course, until the candidates get what they want and throw those people under the bus as well.

…Look around you. See what’s going on outside the world of CNN and Fox news. Respond accordingly…

I think I told you once that my Aunt Martha’s son lived in Australia for many years. He now is retired in Prescott, AZ, where my aunt grows flowers in the courtyard at a nursing home.

They made a little sign for it… “Martha’s Garden”… in her own calligraphy style, of course.

I would put up an image, but that would invite the pack to denigrate me. I’ll skip it this time and enjoy the music.

I ordered the Leonard Cohen Classics for piano at Shivelbine’s in Cape Girardeau the other day when I was hoping to photograph the breaking of the wall. Haha… even a businessman like yourself grasps leverage.

Maybe ass-backwards. The origins of the whole brouhaha was Rob trolling Maggie. When confronted, he went Billy mode. You can look up Billy. His tactics are a textbook case, shifting the blame, playing the victim, deliberately misunderstanding the intent of a comment. It is exasperating and intentionally so. Young girls fight like that. The nature of their arguments devolve into: that’s nice, oh well, whatever…

In any case, it becomes a grappling contest where each contestant attempts to get a strategic hold on the other. In this case, nobody wants to offer any information that can prove usable to the other and there is no debate at all, just name calling and fighting over who started what.

I’m not pure or completely innocent but tell me when I have really honestly wanted to kick somebody off the site? I argued with Yokes and teased him but eventually I let on that I don’t wish him any harm. Billy really got under my skin but later we got along well and I even missed him when he quit.

Here’s the thing, Wipper. No matter how much you might hold against an ex-wife, in the end she is more important to you than anybody else because she takes with her your past, she is a witness to the most intimate parts of your life. It is a great loss. The same occurs here when a monkey leaves. Got that?

The day my grandpa died – they don’t wait in Mexico, you die one day, you are buried the next – an old man approached and lamented to nobody in particular, now I’m the only one left. He meant that the last remaining old man (100 years old) had died and he took with him the last hope for him that life might go on for a bit longer.

We are old fucks here, quite a bit of us. We seek comfort in each other’s company and we are afraid to lose one because the next one might be our self.

That was a great response. I did make it clear how I felt about the trolling and language being used. It takes away from the site. These things tend to start and end quickly, thank God. Hopefully wounds, if there are any, will be licked and all will return stronger. I’ve made it clear how I feel about Maggie also. I love her quirky style.

I didn’t like it when LLPOH did it to Mygirl either. I’m not trying to pull anyone into this, btw. I think it’s disgusting. I have 2 daughters, a mother, a wife, 2 sisters, a granddaughter etc etc. I stood up for you Maggie. I just want HR to continue to share his thoughts without all the garbage. Just ignore those who troll. I find it to be a simple solution. I lost my cool at someone on TBP only once. I will refrain from doing it again. It isn’t worth it to me. I don’t know if there is any history between you and HR that I am unaware of but maybe don’t feed the trolls?

Despite the fact that I’ve fed trolls, chosen unwisely and been deceived, my world is exactly as I perceive it to be. Everyone knows plenty of people whose perceptions of the world aren’t entirely ‘accurate’ or ‘realistic’. So what? What we know doesn’t change their world at all.

Nobody can say for certain that another’s experience of this world isn’t exactly what they perceive it to be. Everyone experiences the same instant slightly differently, and perceives it uniquely.
