Is Trump Capturing the ‘Law and Order’ Issue?

Guest Post by Pat Buchanan

Is Trump Capturing the 'Law and Order' Issue?

A prediction: The incidence of murders, rapes, robberies and assaults in urban America, which saw a steep decline in the last three decades, is about to rise again.

Did President Donald Trump launch his Twitter barrage at Elijah Cummings simply because the Baltimore congressman was black?

Was it just a “racist” attack on a member of the Black Caucus?

Or did Trump go after Cummings after a Saturday Fox News report that his district was in far worse condition than the Mexican border area for which Cummings had demagogically berated Border Patrol agents?

Here are Trump’s crucial tweets:

“Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA…

“…the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. (Cummings’) District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.”

The Fox News report that triggered Trump’s tweets featured a Maryland Republican strategist, Kimberly Klacik, whose videos showed piles of trash and abandoned homes in Baltimore. “A lot of people said he (Cummings) hasn’t even been there in a while,” Klacik claimed.

And Trump, it appears, has more ammunition than that.

Baltimore in 2018 was the murder capital of America and ranked second among her most violent major cities. With St. Louis and Detroit, Baltimore is always at or near the top of the list of the most dangerous American cities.

And what has Cummings, in office 28 years, done to alter that awful reputation?

As for the presence of rats and rodents, Baltimore has competitors.

There have lately been news reports of the homeless in LA and San Francisco living on city sidewalks, defecating where they sleep, attracting rodents and vermin, with little or nothing done about it.

Is it racist to call attention to the decline of so many of America’s great cities that have long been under liberal Democratic rule?

Over this weekend, while Trump was tweeting, nine people were shot dead in Chicago and 39 wounded. Sounds like Baghdad or Kabul.

Is this the new normal that Americans must accept?

A prediction: The incidence of murders, rapes, robberies and assaults in urban America, which saw a steep decline in the last three decades, is about to rise again.

Why? Because the attitudes and policies that produced these sinking rates of crime and violence — especially the dramatic increase in the incarceration of criminals in America — are changing.

In 1980, some 500,000 criminals were in federal and state prisons and jails. By 2016, some 2.2 million inmates were in jails and prisons and another 4.5 million convicts were on parole or probation, being monitored.

As violent criminals were taken off the streets and put behind bars for years, crime fell, and most dramatically in cities like New York, where the backing of cops and intolerance of criminals by mayors Rudy Giuliani and Mike Bloomberg was the most pronounced.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans were not victimized by crimes in the last three decades because their would-be perpetrators were behind bars. But today, a campaign is afoot to reduce prison populations and use more progressive methods to deal with crime.

Ex-Vice President Joe Biden, who, as a senator and a chairman of the Judiciary Committee, played a role in taking criminals off the streets, seems almost apologetic about what he and the “law and order” Republicans of those decades accomplished.

And the mindset that put first the right of the innocent to be free from domestic violence is vanishing. A recent video of NYPD cops being doused with pails of water as they made their rounds in Harlem has gone viral. The number of applicants for police training programs is dropping. Verbal assaults on “white racist cops” have taken a toll on police morale.

We seem to be drifting back to the 1960s, when crime began to soar and “law and order” began to surge as a national issue.

That issue helped Barry Goldwater capture the nomination from a Republican establishment that had controlled his party for decades.

In 1966, Hollywood actor Ronald Reagan ran as a law and order candidate for governor and routed the liberal incumbent by a million votes.

In 1968, Richard Nixon ran as the law and order candidate, which helped him to stave off George Wallace and defeat Hubert Humphrey, whose Democratic Party was almost twice the size as the GOP.

In 1988, Democratic nominee Gov. Michael Dukakis’ prospects for the presidency vanished when he indicated he would not impose capital punishment, even on a criminal who had raped and murdered his wife.

Calling out the urban liberals who run most of America’s cities, for their failure to make those cities more livable and safe, might be a winning issue for Trump in 2020.

Is this where Trump is headed? Is it a coincidence that Attorney General Bill Barr just said he will begin imposing the death penalty?

Cause and effect. Just how stupid do people have to be not to see correlations? It is one of the key attributes of humans – the ability to forecast future events based on examining historical ones. Ie. I will not prod bulls with sticks, given what happened to Igor when he did it. Without that ability to correlate, man would never have climbed down from the trees.

That the many large city populaces are unable to correlate decades of Democratic rule with steady decline from affluence to utter shitholeness signifies that people are devolving. People are becoming domesticated. The free-roaming humans that are left are going to have to do battle with the domesticated and with those that control the herds. There is no way around it.

I think a lot of White folks see the correlation you speak of but are scared shitless to say or do anything about it. I was based in Baltimore for 8yrs in my former life. Starting in ’88. I never saw anything like this. I walked all over town, especially around the Inner Harbor and never felt threatened in any way. How things have changed! I wouldn’t go there under any circumstances nowadays. Baltimore’s problem is not rats(4legged), it’s negroes and Trump should go one step further and call ’em out. It’s the same shit everywhere they are in this world. The battle is indeed coming, probably sooner than later. We should immediately cut out all forms of welfare. Laquanda and Shitavious have threatened to come to YT’s neighborhood and kill us and steal all of our stuff. Fine, have at it! Best git ‘er done now while we are armed and dangerous. I wish I could say that this is simply a rant generated by an old fool, but I don’t think so. Keep yer powder dry, my friends and prepare for what’s coming. Indeed, there is no way around it.

“…unable to correlate decades of Democratic rule with steady decline…”

TBH, even the word “Democratic” is an obfuscation. The correlation is not a matter of party politics; it’s racial. Negroes are innately incapable of maintaining any semblance of Western civilization, and to pretend otherwise harms both Whites and Blacks, though it benefits jews.

In a homogeneous White society without jews, the particiualr system of government does not matter so much. Good White men can make even a bad system work reasonably well IMO.

The only thing that would have helped is the Bob Grant mandatory sterilization of 1970.

Its 50 years on and public housing has turned to section 8. And the shame of food stamps has been relaced by EBT cards.

As Bob wold say on his radio program. We must have mandatory sterilization!

Here’s a tale, a story with some parallels.

Belle Isle is a small island in the middle of the Detroit River, flanked by Detroit to the north, and Windsor, Ontario, CANADA to the south.
Over the last 50-60 years, it has changed, from good, to bad, and back to good again.
In the 50’s and before, it was a safe place, beautiful, and enjoyed by all races. Whites, blacks, Chinese, even the early arrivals of Christians from Iraq (Chaldeans), plus Lebanese, and any number and variety of different ethnicities.
When blacks started rising in power during the uprising in the 60’s and 70’s, the decay of Belle Isle started, much like Detroit.
Jerome Cavanaugh was an early Dem mayor, white, who embraced the civil Rights movement.
Along came Coleman Young, a black mayor, with pull, who like Obama would later do, did more to stoke racial divide than any good, in assisting the black man’s plight.
Regarding Belle Isle, it became a mess, infested with the type of black culture that destroyed neighborhoods.
Young bitched, when they started charging a small fee, to get onto the island via a bridge from Jefferson Street, east of downtown Detroit.
The goal was to gather funds to try and clean up the island, since the City’s maintenance crews couldn’t stem the tide of trash, litter, and aesthetic degradation.
Young cited the $3 entry fee as too expensive for black senior citizens on fixed income.
He advocated freebies.
Imagine that.
A parallel was blacks gaining mass employment in all levels of city government.
Widespread corruption, red tape, and waste followed, and became a cancer.
Belle Isle had a small zoo at one time (ironic), a small golf course, a casino; currently still has a Coast Guard station, a beautiful fountain at the West end, multiple picnic areas, a beach, multiple small ponds and water activity areas, a yacht club…
Many nice amenities.
Huge freighters pass by, traversing the Great Lakes for commercial purposes.
Ditto, for recreational boats of all sizes. U.S., and Canadian.
Thousands flock there, during July fireworks, August hydroplane boat races on the river, or just weekend family reunion picnics, with gorgeous views of Canada and Detroit skylines on sunny days. Deer live there. Nature.
In the winter, ice skating on the ponds and canals.
Baseball diamonds. Volleyball, horseshoe pits, gazebos, a water slide park. Off road bike trails.

Now, cut to the present, and about 5 years ago, much to the objection of Detroit’s black career whiners, Belle Isle was made a State controlled park, like many northern Michigan State Parks.
Effect:
Clean up efforts and monies, plus a huge State Police presence, to cut down on the thuggery of the past.
Previously, whites wouldn’t dream of visiting on hot Summer nights, if they cared for their safety.
This isn’t a pitch for tourism invitations.
Law and Order works.
It enforces compliance with civil behaviors and courtesy for the common good.
Currently, I would have no worries, driving down from suburbia with my family and friends to visit Belle Isle.
It’s a beehive of outdoor activities and nature lovers, athletes, and mixed races of decent people.
Runners, walkers, cyclists, kayakers, swimmers, fishermen, sight seers, picnickers.
Last point.
The fountain, a sweet addition to this jewel among the rubble, was donated 100 years ago.
By a white man.
Detroit currently has a white Demo mayor, and he’s made good progress trying to improve the city services.
Businessmen have helped.
The outlying neighborhoods still have too much blight, thugs, murder, and lazy blacks without pride or work ethics.
So, it still can be called a shithole.
But if you’re ever in the area, take a small group of friends, and go visit the Riverfront and Belle Isle.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
If not interested, well, that’s ok, too.
Carry on.

Training an animal requires discipline. Without training the animal is wild, unruly, dangerous and destructive. Raising children requires discipline. Without training the child is wild, unruly, dangerous and destructive. The same can be said for any group of people. If someone misbehaves and is punished, they think twice about misbehaving again.
Ghetto blacks suffer no consequences for their antisocial behaviour, the media and the establishment reward said behaviour which is why many areas where the ghetto blacks abound are dangerous shitholes and will remain so. Throwing money at the shitholes is a waste and the politicians are there pandering because they can make wads of money under the table via graft and corruption.

For law abiding folks desiring safety from criminals running amok in society.
We can bring up the ‘Yeah, but…’ about rogue cops killing and intimidating innocents, which is an acknowledged problem to be eliminated. Ditto, for LEOs impeding freedoms.
But by and large, security is needed, the rule of law, even in recognition of all its many flaws, or you get blood in the streets. Widespread.
No place to try and live, with our family and friends, in peace.

All good comments but you all missed the boat on the main problem. It’s IQ . Until we face that nothing will change. Blacks have an average IQ of 80 to 85 based on what I have learned. White people have an average IQ of 98 to 104. There is enough white people of higher Intelligence to pull whites up. With blacks that talented 10% is not enough to pull blacks up. The population is the mean .That is why blacks destroy everything they touch. They are basically stupid. White people could spend another 25 trillion dollars on Blacks and it would not ” rise ” them up. No matter what the liberals progressives Democrats come up with it it will always fail. Nothing is going to work with blacks. Affirmative action is nothing but another scam. Giving blacks positions they can’t perform or deserve. All these set asides just make the racial hostility even worse. Most white people know the truth but are to scared to say it because the government still protects black people and the Jewish controlled media is always on the side of Blacks. The elite used black people as a weapon to keep white people in line so to speak. They know us white people are the only ones standing in their way of getting a one world government which is the goal. The only solution that I can see is Secession . White people must separate from this abomination in Washington and separate from blacks . Separation and Secession is our only hope. The problem is they are not going to allow us to leave . White people are the tax base . They need us to keep this debt money system going. So thus here we are.

Libs wonder why incarceration rates have risen while crime rates have plummeted. They think it’s racism and the influence of the “prison-Industrial complex”. It never occurs to them that rising incarceration rates might be why crime has fallen. Jared Kushner is one of those liberals. We can hope that the Kushner-Trump effort to release long-imprisoned felons won’t bite us in the ass.

One will NEVER truly capture the “law and order” issue until one faces the reality that government prosecution of otherwise consensual activities, draws precious resources away from solving and prosecuting REAL crimes involving harm to others and their property. The gullible GOP base just loves the concept of having a cop on every corner and in every school and spy cameras at ever intersection, etc. but cares little that REAL crimes continue to go unsolved while officers spend their time catching adults using drugs or exchanging monies for sexual favors or gambling without the government getting its cut. We already have a police state that has encroached upon our privacy, our private property rights, and our person liberties. Time to start restoring freedom on one hand, so cops (if we are to continue with the government’s monopoly army of occupation), can start going after REAL criminals.

Its not that legalization somehow creates utopia. What it does is allow police to focus on REAL CRIME. Of course criminals will still be criminals even if all drugs are legal. But legal drugs (not burdened by massive taxation and regulation – the kind of freedom I favor), will also be less expensive, thus reducing the need to steal to afford to fund a habit. Utopia is NOT on the table…just proper use of limited police resources.

But how is the guy who smokes a cigarette made from cannabis flowers any different morality wise than a guy who smokes one made from tobacco leaves? Where is the moral difference in the man who buys a lottery ticket hoping to get rich and a guy sitting at a table with his friends playing poker for money? Where is the moral difference between the man who pays for dinner and then has sex with his date and the man who has sex with his “date” and hands her the money instead of the waiter? All of these behaviors are simply behaviors. They have only the morality YOU choose to impose upon them.

Does the rampant corruption of the police department, the court system, the legislature, and countless others destroy the nation more or less than the drugs whose prohibition has led to this corruption? Is the family more destroyed by someone there using drugs, or someone being killed by the local gang over drug territories brought about by the government’s prohibition? Is the individual harmed more by being forced to HIDE his addiction because of the legal implications, or by being able to safely and legally seek treatment for his problems? Sorry, the moral decay you speak of comes from putting the power of moral authority in the hands of inherently criminal folks in government. It comes when others throw people in cages for engaging in behavior THEY despise, while allowing the vices they personally enjoy. Sorry, history is on my side that freedom is a far superior solution to tyranny. Morality can only be truly discovered by being able to exercise FREE CHOICE, not through force or obedience to the law.

Increases in the prison population probably have more to do with the federal government’s “war on drugs” that removing “violent offenders” as Pat suggests. It is true that in places like Austin that never had much of a (visible) homeless problem are now starting to look more like bigger cities such as San Francisco and that’s because their reprobate, Democrat city councils and mayors are deliberately decriminalizing antisocial behavior for the homeless.

There is nothing racist about pointing out the truth, which is that Baltimore is a complete mess. Stupidly, Nancy Pelosi jumped in with both feet to defend Cummings, to which Trump predictably replied, “Oh, yeah Nance, I’m not racist, because your district is a complete dump as well.” How could she not see that coming? In squelching her, Trump again only had to point to the obvious. I don’t know if Trump is being crafty, or he simply got tired of being criticized by complete failures for his performance, but I do know that a hell of a lot more people are talking about conditions in Baltimore today than they are talking about troubles at the border.

titled “USAWC “Civilian Research Project”” ref: pg 15

Major General Sacolick and Brigadier General Grigsby address how viewing this challenge through the lens of the human domain will contribute to answering the Chairman’s question, “the human domain is the totality of the physical, cultural and social environments that influence human behavior to the extent that success of any military operation or campaign depends on the application of unique capabilities that are designed to fight and win population-centric conflicts. It is a critical and complementary concept to the recognized domains of land, air, maritime, space and cyberspace.”

Secession down to the smallest political unit possible but in whatever that form must be voluntary and contractual. You want to join or participate, fine, if not no one forces you. Policing and settling grievances is left to the free market and 3rd party arbitration.
Would it work; don’t know… but I do know the last few hundred years of what humanity has lived under has definitely not and continues to get worse. What does that say about human IQ in general?

democrat politicians are listening to the vocal minority and it will be their undoing.

The cry amongst the white guilt ridden millennial is people of color are incarcerated simply because of their skin color, not the crimes they commit.

So yeah, I also believe violent crime will rise along with more pressure to outlaw personal protection.

There be a storm brewing.

He just needs to set more feral black criminals loose to cause public mayhem, and prosecute more innocent white guys for defending themselves against AntiFA.

It’s hard to understand these Judges. I can’t believe they just let these people out to rape more little girls. What could be more Satanic.
