Vaping Illnesses Nationwide Lead To Hysteria, Deflection From Cigarette Harms

Originally Posted at FMShooter – Authored by Jon Hall

E-cigarettes and vaping have been long toted as an alternative to nicotine-laden cigarettes. However, with a spate of vaping-related illnesses occurring across the United States, many are calling into question the safety of using vapes.

On September 10, a Kansas resident was the sixth person to die of an unknown respiratory illness related to vaping. Public health officials are also investigating 450 cases of lung illnesses across 33 states.

Many of the illnesses had to do with vaping products, including illegal cannabis products containing vitamin E acetate, an oil made from vitamin E that can be dangerous if inhaled. Officials are urging the public to stay away from THC oils which are typically purchased from the black market and made without supervision or guidelines.

On Wednesday, the Trump administration said it plans to ban the sale of non-tobacco-flavored e-cigarettes in response to the illnesses.

The Trump Administration is making it clear that we intend to clear the market of flavored e-cigarettes to reverse the deeply concerning epidemic of youth e-cigarette use that is impacting children, families, schools and communities. We will not stand idly by as these products become an on-ramp to combustible cigarettes or nicotine addiction for a generation of youth.

President Trump has also promised “strong rules and regulations”. The American Vaping Association stated it was disappointed in the administration’s decision, claiming that the decision was taken in heed from “anti-vaping activists”, like former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The Association detailed that such a ban as proposed by Trump would remove “life-changing options” from the market that several millions of American adults have used to quit smoking.

Notably, last week, Michigan became the first state to prohibit sales of most flavored e-cigarettes to stop the underage vaping epidemic and praised the Trump administration’s plan, labeling it “a bold step”.

Shockingly, a CNN headline has said a teen who vaped for more than a year and a half now has lungs in similarity to a 70-year old

With these regulations in mind, targeting flavors of vaping juice does seem a little asinine when you consider all of the illnesses seem to be stemming from illegal THC oil. There is much to be said from the panic encapsulating both public officials and citizens when only 6 have died relating to the illnesses. Nationwide, there are many more pressing issues to be addressed – perhaps an issue like cigarettes, which cause 480,000 deaths annually.

Apparently, the death machine of nicotine cigarettes is too profitable to those at the top to be stopped. Anything for a dollar, as has been evident (and will be again and again) when it comes to U.S. affairs.

I have read various articles on this. “Many” of the products contained illegal THC oil, “many did not” say some of the articles. Yeah, because your sick minor child is going to cop to vaping THC oil or boot leg nicotine liquid.
I vape, have for 2-3 years. ZERO problems. Nothing caught on fire, no illness, nothing.
The problem comes up when you have unskilled people building their own mods and don’t understand how ohms work and those blow up or catch fire.
The other part is the black market liquid vendors. Most likely comes from China, which we all know does not hesitate to put toxic shit in any consumable product. Lead pain on children’s toys? Check. Melamine in dog food? Check. Lead-lined barrels for honey shipment? Check.
I personally purchase products that are sourced 100% USA organic flavorings and organic nicotine, and the base is vegetable glycerin, not propelyne glycol, although I know many users who do use PPG with no problems.
The astounding amount of hubris and stupidity that is being tossed around right now, when cigars, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, and alcohol are all LEGAL, and still attained by minors, is astounding.
Kids are dumb, kids do dumb shit, we all did.
Keep them out of grandma’s percocets and forget the vaping shit. Jesus what a bunch of idiots.

In the late 60’s, I used to smoke the peach and cherry, Tiparillo’s. It looks like they are still made:

Oh, by the way: Only niggers smoke the menthol.

Quick, let’s legalize marijuana. Everyone knows it’s just as harmless as the vapes and nicotine Deathstix.

I will lay odds that many of the ailing are taking allergy medicines, or any of the growing list of pharmaceuticals that come with “upper respiratory infection” that is NEVER diagnosed let alone “treated” (by discontinuing the medication”). I know a dozen people this “side effect” has popped up for and every single one has never had their doctor read the damn warnings and stop treating their “sudden onset emphysema,” ” copd, ” “adult onset asthma” or chronic bronchitis with this class of now over the counter decongestants.
This ridiculous ban/law, (kids already breaking law) is also destroying the dreams, and life savings, of thousands of American families whom pursued vaping as an occupation. Do-gooders did the same thing with prohibition, drugs and sex.
Just like with Reagan’s kids alcoholism and drug abuse fueling the fear needed for the driving restrictions under guise of drinking and drug war (and dramatic reduction of civil liberties), this is ushering in a new level of government control and the jackboots needed to enforce it.
No, no, it’s for the children, polar bears, herd immunity, no, really.

It truly no longer matters as the vast majority believe the for-profit/control propaganda, fear-mongering, savior-needed lies.
Once again, our American middle class will take the hit, the jackboots will continue stomping our families and futures into the ground on the basis of “for the greater good.”
Screw ’em all.
What a free life in this land of regulation, distraction, materialism and illusion.

First they came for the cigarettes,
Then the Tide Pods,
Now Vapes
and Real Meat…

But wait, There’s Moar!

Now did you read the news today
They say the danger’s gone away
But I can see the fire’s still alight
There burning into the night.

There’s too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round

Can’t you see
This is a land of confusion.

First they came for the cigarettes, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a cigarette
Then the Tide Pods, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Tide Pod
Now Vapes and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Vape
and Real Meat…and I did not speak out
Because I was not Real Meat.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

A lot of good theories proposed in the comments,
however, there is one thing that is never really brought up:

When you see how some of these foolish users create such huge clouds of “smoke” or vapor, you can probably understand how the body is going to react.

A normal cigarette smoker never fills his lungs to capacity, and then follows his next exhale with another huge inhale, nor do pot smokers.

It is not normal behavior, these folks are like glue sniffers, abusing a product to get a quick high, and also damaging their lungs in the process.

idiots.

Banning legitimate eliquids: Do you wanna see more bootleg black market eliquid? Because that’s how you get more bootleg black market eliquid.

5 year vape here. Zero problems. Infact , things got better, lost my cough and can jog upstairs without passing out.
As far as I can tell, all the deaths were THC related, something about vitamin “e”.
This is a distraction.

Aren’t most of their supposed ‘vaping related injuries’ from battery malfunctions burning people?

Also, around 100 babies a year die from complications arising from being circumcised – the media isn’t screaming we need to stop that. But somehow, 6 deaths that *might* be related to vaping is some sort of a critical public health emergency?

The author misses the point completely. Vaping products must be declared illegal in order to pave the way for the burgeoning legal cannabis product industry whose investors include Wall Street heavy hitters who have already donated millions to federal and state lawmakers.
