Back in the day, I took some guitar lessons. The instructor played some early Journey I’d never heard before. It sounded pretty damn good. Never was able to find any of their early music.
FYI.. pestering donkey was not nearly as satisfying

It has to be Page and Plant. Simply because that’s who everyone else copied. Van Halen and Roth, Zeppelin copies. Heart, a Zeppelin cover band from the beginning. Rodger Fisher knew he could pull it off with two ladies up front and nobody would be the wiser. I saw Van Halen open for Black Sabbath in 1978, they certainly weren’t there yet at that time. Saw them a few years later at the Cap Center in DC, fair warning tour, they were as good as good gets. But still paled compared to the original. Roth was fun, but Pant had that voice.

Either Brian Johnson and Angus Young or Don Henley/Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh.

Well,Freddy and Brian of Queen right up there, but,as always loyal to me favorite band would say Anderson and Barre. There was so many good bands who had a leading pair which is why they were good,as many bands that all are tuned into each other.I would say another good choice is the Robinson brothers of the Crowes.
Bon Scott & Angus Young (AC/DC)
AC/DC was my rock and roll awakening.
Since EC is AWOL I will pester you
This has some awesome segue and tempo changes…almost naughty
Ahhhhhoooooooh never in my life uh never in my life ….
Hahaha
I sort of grew up on that shit, but I figured Plant/Page was the obvious choice.

Do not forget the piano players!
They played local proms around here when I was in elementary school. I saw them at Scope auditorium Norfolk VA in 1976.
Damn fine guitars, keyboard and vocals. Anybody can whack a drum
Where is El Coyote?
I am getting worried.

I assume you’re a Journey fan also? Speedwagon and Journey remind me of good times, good times.
Can anyone find Journey’s first album?
I liked them until they went POP, like REO…
Liked Doobies and Black Oak Ark
Do you happen to have any pre pop Journey?

“Look Into The Future”… fantastic rock and roll record.
Tossed between Page/Plant and Townsend/Daltry.
Just sayin’ You’ins…
Steely Dan. Donald Faigen and Walter Becker.
* must break this down between studio artists and duos that actually sound good live on stage.
The 1980s Van Halen sounded like a diesel engine in concert.
Not my personal pick, but a good argument could be made for Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
What about Hall and Oates? Not my pick either, but they had a decent number of hits over the years.
AC/DC and Van Halen are both good choices. I think I would also vote for early Van Halen.
Bono and Edge (u2)
Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads.
Best pair ever.
Robert Plant and Jimmy Page.
Hands down IMHO, but I could also go with Bon Scott and Angus Young 🙂
Worked as a roadie for Van Halen back in 84/85. Roth was a complete asshole, but I’m biased….LOL.
1) Mick and Keith
2) Axl and Slash
Tom Petty and Mike Campbell
Brooks & Dunn ;^)
There are some fine acoustic players too.
Just to add to the mix – Anne and Nancy Wilson of Heart.
