Has any president since said anything close to that?

Saying something means nothing. You have to do what you say.

I agree but words from the president do seem to carry lots of weight. Look at all the crazy talk from Obama. Sure seems like lots of social problems ensued after his words.

Ron Paul was important. If he had been elected, at least he would have had endless time in front of the microphone. He didn’t shy away from what he believed.

Answers please.

All politicians are hot air but Ron Paul may have been the exception rather than the rule.

I was an ardent devotee of his, going door to door to collect $2300-a tidy sum in 1980-for his campaign. The fact that government grew by 30% during his 8 years taught me that government would grow until it bankrupted the country. If he couldn’t stem the tide, no one could and I was correct. His reelection was the last national ballot I ever cast.

To quote another good bullshitter:

It is a wonder that The Malignancy can have such persons acting as frontmen for their production and still get away with it.*

He also gave away California to the democrats when he gave several million illegal aliens the right to vote. The next election it was gone forever with its 55 vote.
I remember thinking how could he have been so damn stupid.
This next election will probably be the last time we have a. Republican in the white house. Hispanics always vote for
socialism . Just look at Mexico or South. America

I call bullshit.

That was probably before Reagan was shot (or fake shot depending on what you believe).

The 1980s had some of the worst ever gun control EVER, or did you forget 1986?

In any event, Bush Sr. ran the show in the 1980s, even if *all pretend Presidents have kissed Kennedy rings from 1945 to 2019* present day (and they have and still do.)

Every last one of them owns property on Martha’s Vineyard.

It seems there is a policy of keeping pretender ex-Presidents on a short leash.

Reagan said a lot of the right things, but unfortunately his actions were usually the opposite of what he said, sort of a lot like Trump.

Wow, can you imagine in 2019 a conservative going on a late night talk show and having a sincere conversation with the host?

No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth! ~ Ronald Reagan

Government is still the problem, but probably in a different way than Reagan meant. Government refuses to prosecute health insurance companies and healthcare providers for conspiring to issue fake invoices for ten times the actual cost (the cost that insurers agree to pay). Government insures student loans that inflate college costs. Government runs the FAFSA financial aid system that tries to extract as much middle class wealth as possible. Government maintains the legal structure that allows drug companies to charge $x in Canada or Europe and $5x for the same product in the US. Government also prohibits people from buying drugs in Canada and reselling them in the US. Government sucks up almost a trillion dollars a year for “defense” thirty years after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Son of Fidel, via Maggie, when Pierre was preoccupied with diplomatic exercises of a more boring variety. I feel bad for Bob P. and FM. But, we have our own Al Jolson imitators from their haunting pasts, too, so, there’s that. Mammy!
In that photo, though, Socks is taking advice from a 16 year old actress on how to bullshit a whole bunch of idiots and guilt trip them into giving up their freedoms and their money,
before she jumps on a jet and flies somewhere else in the world to lecture adults about how they are polluting up her future. She’s an angry little elf. But, I doubt that China or India are on her itinerary, with her handlers, because the people in those countries have much bigger problems than that. Sweden, are you listening?
