As a White husband who wanted three kids, I ran into three big walls. First, my Fiance lied about also wanting kids; and Second as my wife, she had easy access to many kinds of birth control through her doctors. And third, Reconstruction II (Affirmative Action, Quotas, Diversity, etc) in the 1970s and on made it impossible for her husband to get hired into almost every good job and to get normal promotions once hired. I swear to God that me and most of the White Jones’ had a Hell of a time; we couldn’t afford to keep up with the very fertile and well cared for Black Welfare Maggots; we still pay handsomely for their many economic Privileges when we pay Property, Income and Sales Taxes.
I have few kids and the typical comment I hear is about how I can afford them. I guess money is the number one thing many whites folks think about. Or the inconvenience these gifts from God will cause in their lives. The cost of living is a problem also.
Given who is actually having children, fewer might not be the worst thing.
They myth is more people are needed in America which is the furthest thing from the truth. The fact is there are too many people as it is. “Replacement rate” necessity is a bullshit statistic invented by the state and propagated by media. Like the climate and for differing and similar reasons, populations increase and decrease and even disappear.
Ever notice how the Mayor, City Council, and Zoning Board always-and I mean ALWAYS-tell us how important growth is and that is why they are approving the latest developer’s plan for the new multi-family project, the low income housing project, or whatever else hairbrained project that is being pushed by everyone but the taxpayer? Who is going to then have to pay for the new services, road maintenance, schools, etc?
If you were the ‘massa of a plantation, and you were planning on expanding your reach and your power, you certainly would give a damn about replacement rates to ensure that your supply of slaves was sufficient to get done all that you desired. That pretty much sums up why the local, state, and federal governments are concerned about “replacement rates.”
