The estimates range as high as $6Trillion. Since there is a giant “hide the money” shell game going on, it is truly hard to determine just how much money went where. Especially when you add in all the “lost” money.
I was there working as a maintenance contractor in 2011, both headlines are misleading. I dislike Obama, but troop reductions/ base closures didn’t really start until 2nd half 2012, and accelerated in 2013. The Trump headline in my opinion misleads; we will never walk away from Bagram and Khandahar. More of the same unfortunately.
