I always thought it odd that Orwell promoted the very essence, a form of government, the so-called “Democratic Socialism”, that would be a superlative vehicle to fulfill the tenants of 1984.

Was Orwell’s 1984 a critique or an acclamation?

1984 was a “How-to” document, it would seem.

And we know liberals are liars. They have to lie .Most people (white people) would not be stupid enough to believe or go along with their worthless ideas if they know the truth.

Which “IT” are you claiming, George?

Because the boot-stomping thing only applies to some of the folks, while the Big Brother oversight applies to most folks, but the complete elimination of man’s ability to perceive what is obvious and rational is quite a feat, I admit.

Is the banality of evil simply that no one ever stops it?

I guess someone disagrees about the banality of evil. Perhaps the stupidest thing about evil is not that no one prevents it, but that no one recognizes it until it is too late?

I never “got” the whole banality of evil concept and thought it a decent question too.

Orwell had a pretty good idea of what Big Brother wanted to know about his subjects, he just had no idea of how much technology would be able to give him and how freely the people would give up that information.

He was an insider as was A. Huxley. See Fabian Society.
