STOP, Goddammit!!

Guest Post by James the Deplorable Wanderer

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” (George Santayana)

You cannot give in to hysteria – and right now the U. S. government appears to be an arena full of fainting Victorian women, overcome by their greed and fear, falling into fits when the nation can least afford it.

But first, a word (or song) by Jethro Tull:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSUdlUmtg3Q

Can’t you just hear it? “In the shuffling madness of the Coronavirus … come the pack of losers called the US Congress…”

WE’VE SEEN THIS BAD, POORLY-PLANNED MOVIE BEFORE!

911 attacks >>  hysteria >> US Patriot Act (and several since)

Medical bills rising >> hysteria >> PATCA (until recently)

Coronavirus scare  >> hysteria  >> Families First Coronavirus Response Act

In other words, EVENT  >> HYSTERIA  >> BAD LEGISLATIVE NON-SOLUTION

NONE of the previous “solutions” did what they were supposed to: the Patriot Act did not stop terrorism, PATCA caused massive medical bill inflation without making any more resources available, and this latest abomination will KILL NEARLY EVERY SMALL BUSINESS IN AMERICA.

Furthering the pattern, the Patriot Act was passed with little debate, little public review and few objections. PATCA was passed with little debate, no public review and not a single Republican congressional vote (a rare display of spine, but worthy of note in this charade of government). This latest one passed the House 363-40 and a few Senators are opposing it, which is slowing it down. That is praiseworthy, but it needs to DIE.

“But old Nancy, stole the handle, and the train it can’t stop rolling, no way to slow down …”

But that’s EXACTLY what needs to happen. Imagine a day when your house burnt down, your son lands in jail, your daughter turns up pregnant and your wife is threatening to leave you. Not a time to be making big-time life-changing decisions, is it? You need to take a couple of hours to figure out if you have enough fire insurance (late now, but it’s a binary, either you have enough to rebuild or you do not), and if you can get bail for your son (did he do it? Was he framed? Is a plea bargain in the best interest, or should you fight it tooth and nail?). You need to talk to your daughter and find out where her head and heart are at, whether you can help her find a path forward, or what a liveable solution is (if the boy’s last name is Pelosi, perhaps it’s time to consider mayhem). Is your wife really done with you, or just overwhelmed by the fire, jail and unexpected pregnancy, needs some time to recover and rejoin the family challenges? Whatever reality deals you, the moment you are under siege by emotion, fear and changes is not the time to be making life-altering decisions.

Oh, I understand the politicians’ problems: they need to appear resolute, in charge and making progress against the foes (now a virus) that have appeared. Our problem is they cannot solve this one, any more than the three previous crises mentioned above. The first, a bad solution to terrorism gave us the FISA court, wiretap surveillance of all Americans, consolidation of communication control by three-letter agencies, unlimited detention without trial or warrant, and more. The second gave us the healthcare marketplace, endless regulations, a whole new set of IRS forms to comply with, and penalties for non-compliance with mandated insurance coverage, which I still haven’t found in the Constitution. Quite simply, PATCA was unconstitutional in multiple respects, and it too YEARS to get out from under it. This latest travesty is even worse – mandating paid home leave that BUSINESSES WITH LESS THAN 500 WORKERS MUST PROVIDE. But no mention of how they can AFFORD that – so they will go bankrupt.

Speaking of those with a need to appear to be “in charge” and “making progress” … we have the junior senator from Utah suggesting he can buy votes with a little easy cash:

$1,000 to every adult American? Really? Yeah, it might help a little, but wouldn’t this be more an APPEARANCE of assistance rather than the real thing? If you want to REALLY help average Americans, why not give them $10,000? Or a million? Why stop at $1,000, when it isn’t YOUR money anyway? And if printing money was the solution, why are you still collecting income taxes from average Americans? You poser …

But back on subject, If ANYTHING is likely to deteriorate the “general health and welfare: of the average American, THIS BILL is likely to do it. Imagine a quarter-million small businesses go under from this insanity – that’s a lot of people who will now be unemployed, and as long as the requirement remains, probably permanently unemployed. And the products provided from those businesses – sure, restaurants can re-open under new management, maybe, and hotels could come back the same way. But once John’s Widget Manufacturing, Inc. goes down, John may not be able to re-open – after all, the bank took possession of his shop, tooling, stock, and sold it all to the lowest bidder. Can he find the capital to start over? Would he want to? Would he trust any banker to fund him? Where will you get John’s Widget (assuming you need one) if he’s no longer making them?

One more thing – I found out about this provision by reading an article by Bruce Wilds in the Advancing Time blog, reprinted in ZeroHedge. WHAT ELSE IS HIDING IN THIS BILL? LET THE AMERICAN PEOPLE GIVE FEEDBACK ON ITS PROVISIONS.

Another common feature is the lack of debate, the lack of deliberation. Nancy Pelosi and the Treasury Secretary knocked this deal together, Nancy rushed it through the House and the Senate is thinking about it. Do you really trust Nancy Pelosi to make a deal with your best interests in mind? After the Patriot Act, after the PATCA nightmare (“We have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it” – how did THAT turn out for the American people?) and THREE YEARS trying to impeach a President who did nothing wrong – how can the Senate approve this fraud? Our entire economy and small business infrastructure could COLLAPSE due to this – we cannot afford any more Patriot Acts, PATCAs or this trash.

The Senate should take a hard, cold look at this – and refuse ALL of it. America could more quickly recover from a Yellowstone earthquake than it could this detritus, and having America attacked economically by its own Congress is worse than an attack from abroad.

It will not be forgotten, who foisted this on us. It will not be forgiven, either – and if it hits America like a ton of bricks on a Ford Escort, there will be no where to run, no where to hide, EVER. It will be that bad, and that unforgiveable.

“We can feel the grifters scraping, cash paying for their cow, but old Nancy, stole the handle, and the nightmare keeps on rolling, no way to slow down … no way to slow down …”. It must STOP, NOW, goddammit, and not start again. We must learn from our previous screwings, and NOT TRUST this bill, conceived in greed, executed in haste, and repented for … forever?

Having small businesses go belly up is part of the plan. The plan is working as expected. Corporations with access to the Feds faucet are going to buy up everything with free currency. It’s what happened early last century and it’s happening again.

Once all business is run by some distant corporation, gov’t will allow them to bypass the Constitution just as Facebook and the rest can bypass the 1st Amendment. The Constitution still exists, but is rendered mute because of the corporate middleman controlled by the banksters and the deep state.

They are doing this right in front of our eyes and people can’t seem to see it for what it is. It is outright theft fully supported and encouraged by the Fed Gov and the people that own it.

This is why I feel that corporations have to be strictly regulated. It seems no matter what we impose the rules are circumvented or ignored. I guess it is up to the people to put a nail in the coffins of these don’s.

And who exactly is going to do the regulating? Could it be the same type of folks regulating the banks, big pharms, starting unnecessary wars, etc. Those people? Regulating allows for wiggle room – it allows for a wink and a nod – it allows for regulatory capture – it allows for lobbying.

You have it backwards. Corporation are needed to pool money for a product or service. They should be restricted (not regulated) to only spending their funds directly on their product or service and as disbursements to stock holders. All other activities will get the corporation dissolved and the stockholders funds confiscated. That would make management sit up and take notice and would give the stockholders a reason to watch what’s going on since their money is on the line.

We have regulations now and they aren’t worth a shit.

OK, OK, SAO. Let the free market take over. The problem is I don’t see this free market you speak of. Now if you were to say lets dissolve the alphabet soup agencies that tend to control the free market, then how would you suggest we get this done? I don’t like regulation either but, you have offered NO solutions to the issue. What do you honestly suggest will work? Your turn.

There is no free market. There is none possible as long as the Fed Gov exists and exercises it’s monopolistic control over 300 million people and everything they do.

It is the lack of competition in what is essentially a command and control economy led around by monetary and fiscal policy that the Fed Gov and their partners in crime control.

There is only one possible solution to this problem and that is the dissolution of the Fed Gov and a return to 50 governments with 50 different ideas on how to proceed and allow time to discover winners and losers. The only voting that counts is done with the feet.

As long as there’s a Fed Gov, nothing gets solved as there is no competition of ideas because none are wanted. They have the control and wealth they want and they like it that way. It needs to be taken away from them via secession or any other means possible, hopefully with no to minimum carnage.

I realize that’s not a satisfying answer, but it is the only one I can think of. Trying to tinker around the edges means dealing with experts on subversion and the people are the amateurs. No amount of Constitutional Conventions, protests, letter writing (begging), controlled elections is ever going to change anything of substance.

If one could organize a nationwide work stoppage with a demand that the Fed Gov dissolve itself, that may cause governors to grow a pair and start secession moves. World opinion would be on the peoples side and any attempt at force to suppress would present bad optics.

As the economy is going to roll over anyway soon, it would be the perfect time for people to use their unemployed free time to tell the Fed Gov to fuck off and keep repeating it till it’s heard.

oldtimer, free markets above law of the jungle caloric free markets are ordered by man. It is an enforced standing agreement among men who share a social norms of cooperation called culture. It takes a patriarchy. All that is great socially requires a patriarchy. Patriarchy requires a good amount of bigotry. That’s how. Western men refuse to be patriarchs anymore, and can’t if they wanted to. Instead we have the police and daddy government. Christians value the lowest human life as the highest. Failure is inevitable.

One of the things I’ve been repeating for years on TBP is…one day a person will have only 3 choices. 1) work for government or 2) work for a corporation or 3) be a free shitter.

There is no freedom without economic freedom.

The only positive reaction to bad government laws I have seen in my lifetime occurred in ’94 when the House flipped for the fist time in 40 years over the attempt at Hillarycare & “assault” weapons ban and the massive turnover after 0bamacare. EVERY senator who voted for 0bamacare and was from a conservative leaning state either retired in the face of defeat or lost their next election.

Most House members are almost guaranteed of re-election due to gerrymandering.

Back from the grocery store/restaurant run.
Restaurant are just about all done now, only one cook at one restaurant left for any take out meals they are still allowed to sell.

Back of the grocery store is about 2/3rd’s full and not being topped off. Three different delivery guys were there while I was, one dropping off dairy products- says the load was twice normal, one from a bakery, he said they were only sending out 1/2 to 1/3 loads from the factory and cited lack of raw product, so the big bakeries seem to be suffering the same supply line interruption. Everyone was talking about it, every last person. Beer guy also said loads were smaller this week because of supply issues. Big holes in produce, like potatoes and onions. Almost all of the meat section was empty although the butchers were cutting up meat as fast as they could. Still some seafood available, no more packaged meats like hot dogs, bacon, sausages, etc.

For the first time it looks to me that we may actually be just a few days away from the food running out. And we’re nowhere in terms of demand, I can’t imagine what it must be like in the cities.

When I got home there were two teenagers in van with a dog crate that wanted to buy a couple of piglets. Another guy is coming by later for ten and tomorrow some lesbian farmers from Vermont are coming for another half dozen and after that we’re down to the brood sows, a half dozen feeders and two small litters that won’t be ready for another month and I have a dozen customers on a list for those. Never seen anything like this from the homesteader set. Seems like the panic is everywhere.

Seems to me the writer isn’t taking his own advice. The wife leaves, the son is in jail and the daughter pregnant and the writer ends by saying there will be no forgiving? This may only be the end of the beginning and best not to jack one in the chamber just yet. His recommendation is to give yourself time to clear your head and look at plan B, and then he dumps his anger and ends with threats. He might talk the talk, but he just unloaded a whole clip at a noise in the dark.

I wrote this in a mild rage, and I thank Jim for getting it posted for me. The part about “not making decisions in a rage” was being applied to legislators, who above all should know better.
Even if I get in a rage, I wait and calm down before actually making any life-changing decisions. Reality is rarely so hyper-paced that a decision that large HAS to be made today, unless a natural disaster is roaring down the river at you. This pandemic has been seen coming for weeks, yet this stupid bill has to be passed in an hour from reveal?
It looks like they are still trying to beat the kinks out of this bill, but they still are not taking the time to think it through. The small business coalition got their attention, but who else is being vicitimized that hasn’t seen it coming yet? Does anyone remember “we will publish all bills FIVE DAYS before voting on them? Even older people might remember first, second, third readings of bills days or weeks apart before voting on them; crap like the Patriot Act, ObamaDon’tCare and this nightmare are the REASON for three readings spaced days or weeks apart; time to get the word out, think about the ramifications and amend accordingly. Nowadays taking days or weeks between readings is rarely done anywhere larger than a small town, and we have suffered for it.
We need to go back to careful, reasoned consideration of country-wide legislation BEFORE we end up with FISA courts, healthcare marketplaces – or worse things. Legislate in haste, repent … forever?

“Emotional moron”? Not hardly, I have three STEM degrees from rational engineering departments in three states. I am not giving up, I am giving what amounts to a last warning: stop this, or pay for it in unpleasant currency.
“We” are whoever sees this latest travesty as part of the event >> hysteria >> bad legislative non-solution pattern. It has happened several times, as I note; but it MUST stop. Not because I noticed it and wrote about it, not because it enriches certain parties at others’ expense: but because we are about to break America, and be unable to glue it back together without blood being part of the glue.
All these “progressive gains” in American society were LOSSES, of structure, strength, and unity. But the progressives still see them as GAINS! You can “gain” gems or ore by mining away the pillars left to support the mine ceiling; every ounce / rock / gram removed from the mine is a gain – right up until the ceiling collapses and kills everyone underneath. THAT is what the progressive “gains” since the 1950s were; sapping away at what kept America sane, safe, whole, resilient.
As of eight tonight, Mitch says the Senate will vote on the House bill, which means he really doesn’t understand it. They say they will pass yet another, larger bill, which will provide low-interest loans to mitigate the effects of THIS bill, such as the mandated paid home leave.
I am reminded of someone trying to repair a leaky sailboat WHILE STILL AT SEA. Send a diver on a rope over the side to tack a piece of sail over the leak; then nail on boards to hold the sail in place. Now that the leaks are reduced enough that the bilge pumps can handle it, stuff more caulk and tar into the seams; repeat until the leaks are reduced to a trickle. Then, head to port and look for a drydock for permanent repairs.
AT SOME POINT the sailboat is more repairs than sound timber; what is called for is total replacement of all failed boards, or start over with a new sailboat. Three bills to mitigate the pain of the coronavirus is two too many in half as much time as required for understanding. And sending checks to the voters was a bad idea when Bush did it, and worse now: the Treasury just held a bond auction with NO BIDDERS; the FED had to buy them all. When a third-world tinpot dictatorship BUYS ITS OWN DEBT we laugh; you might as well put up a sign, “bankrupt but don’t realize it yet”. THIS IS WHERE WE ARE, RIGHT NOW, AND YOU WANT TO SEND CHECKS FOR A GRAND OR MORE TO EVERY ADULT? What kind of message does that send to the world? What kind of fiscal responsibility does it demonstrate? Where does the Constitution authorize a brain-dead Congress to appropriate money to reduce the economic impact of a pandemic? What kind of economically illiterate Executive Branch asks for it?
Damn, I need a good stiff drink, and still four hours before I get off work. Stop the madness, especially the shuffling madness of the Coronavirus, it’s driven everyone in D.C. mad but not stripped them of power and authority. No amount of crisis spending actually relieves a crisis! It just defers the pain of this one – and gives it time to grow.

There is no coexistence with this shit. Why would you even want it? Let them hold position until the time is right to go on offense over and over? It’s not our system. You have no sense of brother vs. hostile. Of the nature of this life. You say little semantically when you speak voluminously. You have no pith. You don’t want the pith. There is no alternative pith.

I have emotional attachments to my wife and children, some to siblings, and that’s about it. You are making assumptions without data, and projecting your fears and doubts on me. They don’t stick; I am ready to defend myself and my family, and OPSEC prevents any further details.
Just because I want to avoid unnecessary death does not imply I will avoid inflicting NECESSARY death, when the time comes. I suspect a wide clear zone will result from this emergency, where homogeneous communities have cleaned the invaders from the area, never to be allowed to return. My own city has far too many invaders of color, brought in by for-profit NGOs that think they are immune to retaliation. Their enlightenment will be complete, and very, very brief. Better luck in the next life, they screwed up their own chances in this one. But then again, on a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero, so no worries.

One of the best articles I have seen during this whole deplorable hoax. I am not generally one to incite violence, but this time? Yep. It would do some good, if only to make them (the politicians) disperse.

James TDW- I’m glad to see someone is actually mad about the shameful activity of the criminal cartel foisted on the American people/world. This is nothing short of a culling in motion. How many small businesses will survive, how many people will survive? It won’t be a virus that offs our citizens. Honestly, it chaps my ass that people joke about this situation, there should be no joking and quipping as this is most serious.

I have asked many times HOW IS IT that the government can print unlimited money, yet they still need to take their pound of flesh from the taxpayers, so why not give everyone a years wages to ride out the manufactured global collapse?

I read that private jet carriers are shoving their foot up some elite’s arses and leaving them stranded in the mayhem….GOOD ON THEM. One could only hope that karma bites those bastards like the hounds of hell.
