Israel has come out and stated that it is only weeks away from developing a vaccine against the novel coronavirus, according to its science and technology minister. Meanwhile, the coronavirus has evolved into two major lineages and it is possible to be infected with both, a new study shows.
In 1918, the world was a very different place. Doctors knew viruses existed but had never seen one. There was no testing so people really did not know if they should be quarantined. While the Spanish flu killed 50 million people, the mortality rate was 2.5%. Some say that many died from taking excessive doses of aspirin. Others say the flu actually began in China. However, that flu killed more people in their 20s to 40s. Researchers believe the 1918 flu spared older people because they had some immunity to it.
The theory as to why the elderly were spared was predicated on the idea that decades before, there had been a version of that virus that was not as lethal and spread like the ordinary flu. Therefore, older people living in 1918 may have been exposed to that less lethal version of the flu and developed antibodies. With respect to children, most viral illnesses such as measles and chickenpox are far more deadly in young adults. This may also be the reason the children were spared leaving the most vulnerable being the young adults during the 1918 epidemic.
If this version of the coronavirus subsides with the normal flu season, then a more lethal version could evolve for the 2021/2022 flu season or at least one that spreads faster more like the 1918 Spanish flu. We will not know until the next flu season.

I heard a panel of theologians talking wherein one posited a future scenario where mutated virus kept infecting/re-infecting/killing and no cure could be found. Then, along comes a man who has a ‘natural’ immunity to it, and almost god-like figure. Scientists quickly make a cure for it using his blood…which comes from his body….and all you had to do in order to live, was to partake of the unholy communion by way of a vaccine shot….

Been out kickin rocks………ran into Bldg/codes director (retired local electrician I could tell a few stories about) and he came up to me with a cold, sticking out his hand. I grabbed it firm, and pulled him a little closer and said “after this 911, you gov boys might have to start watchin your backs”.

My third grade teacher said that vaccines provoke your body to make antibodies which remain in your system ever after.
Vaccines don’t improve on the original immunity system, they buff it up. I wonder if you know, infants have their mother’s immunity but lose it when they turn 1 year old. That is why they begin with the colds and diarrhea.
Amoebic dysentery is endemic in the Juarez water system and is the cause of many infant and child deaths there. Those of us who survived the diarrhea have an immunity to that drinking water.
There are some things that immigrants do that we never think of. They buy purified water. They put premium gas in their little clunkers. They refuse to flush toilet paper. These are all learned responses to their old environment.

It’s all well and good about the immigrants/interlopers/illegals…..but the idea was for them to assimilate to our ways. To become part of the melting pot and strive together as Americans to make better lives than from where they came…..not bring old habits with them.
I only had to read the insert (which takes a microscope nowadays) on one flu vaccination to shy me away, and with no doubt, the industry (read that Bill Gates) pumps out one for everything…..medical blackmail when you consider the creators/destroyers of said ailments/remedies are the same peeps.

gcp….I had to look it up to see. I’ve seen parts maybe, but it’s online so I’ll find a little time and check it out. I’ve had trouble staying in focus trying to read that book, and trailed off on about video 12 or so…
I saw your comment about the store…..I think we are in for the beginning. No one has a single clue; and the way the gov is treating the elderly in the rest homes (for their health and well being) is kin to those who serve time-shut up in their little rooms. I just go around back and holler thru her window each day.

It is crazy everywhere… I’m still at work for now but for how long who knows. Boss just locked us in the building and closed the gates. He is forcing any customers to phone ahead with steel orders. I guess we are just supposed to hurl it over the gate and into parking lot for pick up..

Good news though is Trudope hasn’t closed border to you Yanks! I’d wait till first of May here in my part of Province. Lobster season opens and fisherman will be practically giving them away. Two, three dollars a pound max! Couple hundred bucks later and whatta Lobster boil that could be had!
I could eat me some lobsters RiNS….stay put and wait for the feast. I heard today that schools may be closed for the rest of the school year, some parents may take up drinking staying home with the kids til this fall. You are actually lucky to be in NS.

Flea, I categorized you as an apocalyptic futurist. I am a paranoid conspiracist. We overlap on a few things. I was wondering why a military that takes time to innoculate troops before deployment would now send troops to Europe without masks or gloves. Do they have the confidence that they won’t get infected or have they already been immunized?

I’m not up on that anymore but if the stuff I read is even 1/4 true our vets are loaded up with all sorts of evil stuff. When I got my overseas shots in 65 I got a 103 temp and put in sick bay for two days. Same thing again when I came home before going to nam. Same thing again when I was leaving nam and had to get up to date on shots. Didn’t happen to most other guys who were mostly city slickers. I don’t know what it means, if anything.
