These people think they’re going to avoid the virus. That’s so cute. A few will, but 70% will get it – eventually. Just try not to be old or fat. The overall mortality rate still looks like about 1% any way you cut it – once you adjust for the time lag between diagnosis (including official and imputed) and death. Antivirals might knock that down a little bit.
Whenever I see two numbers together, infected and deaths, I get a 5-6% death rate. Otto would blame my common core math teacher. Uncola would point to underlying causes and HF would say la vie.
The tests for infections are unreliable. It says so right on the CDC web site. Garbage in, garbage out.

I avoid town now. My wife told me it would be best if I don’t go to the grocery store. Apparently the aisles are now set up like an IKEA. It is a retail marketers dream. So to shop there is only one way thru store. Its up and down every aisle. There even are arrows on the floor to show correct direction and security enforcing a social distance.
If one person has the temerity to stop and browse, the whole fucking conga line grinds to a halt!

Same with me. Any trip to the store now just involves me sitting in the driver seat waiting for my wife. I refuse to take part in whatever completely useless “safety measures” the store has decided to use that day, and my wife is glad that she won’t get embarrassed by my behavior in the store too.
I had to scramble up onto my second story roof the other day to do some chimney repair before the next big rain was due to arrive. I told my wife that I’m pretty sure my chances of dying from falling off the roof were way higher than my chances of dying from Covid. She wasn’t amused.
Where did I comment on this very scenario? I really should get posting rights so I can check my previous comments. I said the Chinks wanted the US to curtail American liberties to bring it more in line with Chinese practices. We’re getting there.

I’ve figured out how to CRUSH this virus:
1) Every American has a thermometer shoved up their ass
2) All of the thermometers are connected to the NSA data center in Utah.
3) Anyone who has the virus gets locked into their home for a month.
4) FEMA pays to have Papa Johns delivered every day. (It’s not good pizza, but tough.)
5) For the 1% who croak, the family has to put ’em in a plastic bag out by the curb.
6) We pick up the bodies after a month.
Pandemic over. Good thing nobody can sneak into the country and start the infections all over again.

Yes..this is in the final analysis a pandemic of fear. Prolonged fear and anxiety are the greatest of immune suppressors. Separation and social isolation are others. We need to rise up within ourselves and overthrow these divisive and clearly totalitarian measures to control us. Fear not for we have nothing to fear but fear itself.
