There’s no way any re-opening at any time doesn’t cause a new outbreak of cases. The virus will not be eliminated utterly by any current lockdown. So, the virus will still exist … somewhere … in someone … when the lockdown ends. Those UNinfected who have been in lockdown are a pristine environment for renewed spread.
This does NOT mean that lockdown must continue indefinitely. Instead, it means that lockdown was not only a stupid and totally pointless thing to begin with; it is actually counter-productive and ENSURES re-commencement of epidemic spread all over again because prime virus real estate has been kept pure and untouched and ripe for spread. This will, in turn, ensure rampant new — totally unnecessary — death among vulnerable sub-populations (those who are both sick AND elderly).
In other words, herd immunity has been (intentionally?) neutralized.
This WILL happen because it must.
Whether it will be reported at all (much less hyped to mass-panic) remains to be seen. Deaths from infectious disease, or any other cause, can be ignored by media and government — just like the nearly 80,000 who died of flu two years ago.
