The mayor and chief of police are also responsible, but it doesn’t stop there. I was looking for an Cessna Cardinal to buy 15 years ago, a sheriff deputy had one for sale. I drove to his house.
He had two airplanes parked in his hanger, and the one outside for sale. He lived in a 3,000 sq foot house with an additional pole barn and pool, his house was located adjacent to a private airport where the streets were the taxiways to get to the runway.
Maybe he dealt in airplanes? I didn’t buy it, he made me feel uncomfortable and the plane was a piece of shit.

I talked about this yesterday (amongst my friends) and said this sorta of shit, arresting the mom, was going to turn this whole thing hot and soon. Our police are better than those of third world dictatorships; they’re not typically corrupt or evil. But in one sense they’re the same; they will obey their superiors and enforce whatever dictates the superior specifies, regardless of whether it’s lawful. The edict to stay out of parks was against our Constitution; doesn’t matter to the president/prime minister, the governor/premier, the mayor, or the cops. They break the law in forbidding us to go to a park and in arresting us for it. It’ll be interesting to see what the courts do with these cases.

A newly hired Meridian cop makes about $45k. A lieutenant makes about $100k. I expect the Chief of Police is letting the mayor have it, since the cop was in a no-win situation when confronted with someone who didn’t care about a trespassing arrest, and also looks like half the moms in Meridian, which is a VERY family-oriented town. The mayor is rather circumspect, saying “I think we all have something to learn from this.” Sounds like the start of a backpedal.
