Actual experience tells a different story. Restaurants that are opening are finding business to be significantly better than “experts” projected. Who would have ever guessed that “experts” would miss a projection?

I also expect churches to be quite full once the First Amendment “right” to the free expression of religion is restored to the people.

Went out to a chain “Italian” restaurant on Saturday, just to support them (they make a good 4-cheese ziti as well). The restaurant was a bit of a farse, with tables and chairs piled into one section so the remaining tables were kept 12 feet apart at least. Oh well. Good to be back eating like “normal” folks. Waiting anxiously for the local Mexican place to open. They at least have been serving 64oz margaritas to go in big cups while all this has been going on. Nothing like a potent open container for the road.

We went to a Mexican restaurant Sunday night to celebrate Mother’s Day with 2 of the daughters. They brought out food in to go aluminum plates, drinks in styrofoam cups and only had cheap plastic ware, but we were waited on and did not have to cook or clean up. It was great and almost made me feel free again.

Pubs and bars will struggle in restricted areas like KCmo where you have to stand or sit 6 feet apart.

A 10-10-10 rule applies. 10 people or 10% of your total public square feet are all that is allowed inside including staff. The staff wears masks all the time. I guess you can take your mask off while you eat and drink. Silliest thing I have ever heard. You won’t catch me in any of those places. Not because I’m afraid of catching something, but because it just doesn’t sound like fun.

Oh, the other 10 in that 10-10-10 rule…if it’s not a restaurant, you can only be inside the business for 10 minutes, then they must report you to the local health authoritieeeeees. Your name, phone number and address must be turned over. I kid you not.

Hopefully the breweries and wineries outside of the restricted area will be more fun. We shall see.

Mary Christine,
I lived at 37th and Walnut when in school-UMKC. Some of those Westport bars weren’t 10 feet wide in the 80s. Good memories…..

Because some statist lackey says, “it’s safe now” (probably the same one that said cower in place), people will go out?? WTF

Why not just say “Mother May I”, then wait for the globalitists response.

What a load of agitprop.

I could not give two shits if there is any sort of recovery or not.

I celebrate the death of the pre-March 13th world and hope it never comes back.

Some of the guys I work with won’t go out to restaurants since they open back up but will go thru fast food drive thru, Wal-Mart, and the grocery store. When I ask them what the difference is they can’t give me an answer,of course they’ve bought into the lie

Made me chuckle. I’m a rural in a South American fly-over village that is still requiring 14-day quarantine for non-locals who are coming from areas outside our valley. We have restaurants, all still closed, but that’s about all of the above that we have. The haircut folks now come to one’s house, but they’re both booked well into next week, so I guess I can go hippy for a while. I’m in the green group (nptaa), don’t wear the mask and neither does my walking companion, who is also the local pharmacist and is still selling them, but in ever-decreasing volume. She doesn’t wear one in the pharmacy, doesn’t wear gloves and has a refreshingly cynical attitude about the whole business. This morning at the general store, the butcher (long-time acquaintance) looked at me, muttered the Spanish equivalent of “fug this” and pulled the mask off in spite of rules to the contrary. The owner (a long-time friend) explained that the local gov insists that all employees wear them, or he wouldn’t bother. “Inspectors” come in to check. Our mayor is asking for trouble with this crap and may find himself out of a job if he takes it too seriously; he has been warned.Resistance is growing here in Mayburrito R.F.D.
