It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. Please consider contributing an amount commensurate to the value that you receive from this site and community, or even by becoming a sustaining supporter through periodic contributions. Bill Gates is not a “bad” man. Bill Gates is an Evil man.

I really disliked The Deer Hunter minus the outcome of this particular scene.

For some reason my mother took me to see The Deer Hunter when I was 15 (my parents also took me to see The Last Detail when I was 9 – yeah, messed up). It was playing on the biggest screen in the area and I walked out of the movie a bit messed up for sure. I have been anti-war ever since (not that I ever gave it much thought before that). I own it, taped it a while ago on Turner Classic Movies (so fully uncut), but simply cannot watch it again. I know my wife will not want to sit through it, so it means watching it alone. Deeply disturbing movie all around. A well-made movie, but deeply disturbing.
