I attended the same church and my daughter was best friends with the woman’s daughter (I forget her title. Right hand person. Glorified secretary) who worked for him until he died in the hospital. Ever wonder why there are so many federal buildings in West Virginia? Especially Social Security buildings? There are a couple windowless SSA buildings that are used to store all the IOU paper work that the US Treasury gives SSA when the working man’s paycheck “contributions” are immediately funneled from SSA to Treasury for Congress to spend (waste) immediately. Of course it is all on the up and up, since Treasury “borrows” that money and gives IOUs in return. You’d think that by now all the loan obligations would be digitized and the buildings torn down-one thumb drive can hold all the information in warehouses full of paper IOUs.
And yes, Senators Byrd and Lyndon Johnson were very good friends. Almost makes one wonder why Lady Bird had that strange name.
There is no need to worry about “excess” SS withholding taxes. Congress will have to start redeeming those little slips of paper this year.
Why can’t we just have a peaceful national divorce. We’ll make statues part of the property settlement afterward. There are plenty of people that are reaching the end of being able to tolerate this bullshit. If a peaceful divorce isn’t possible I fear the alternative.
