I want to take a few pairs of work pants to a seamstress so they can cut out the pockets and sew new faraday cage pockets back in.
I wonder what I need the new pockets made of so it becomes a faraday cage.
A faraday cage would also eliminate signals from leaving and entering my phone as well, correct?

You can buy wallets, bags etc with the ability to block prying eyes as it were. My wallet prevents any scanning of cards with chips or whatever. If you block the phone then you might as well not carry one at all. Or remove the battery and only install it when making a call.
I haven’t seen a phone where you can take the battery out in years. They don’t make them like that anymore(?)
As far as blocking the signal, that’s what I need. I can use the phone when I’m not near anyone.
If you want to do a pocket the only thing I can think of is using fine copper mesh. That would give you flexibility. It would have to have the ability to seal totally. Any ‘cracks’ would defeat the purpose.
Hmm, a ziplock bag wrapped in copper tape or faraday material as shown below?
Is it simply copper that blocks the signal?
So, maybe make the pockets with the fabric shown below and put a copper zipper on the pocket as well?
Wip you can buy special fabric for that, but really just line your pockets with copper foil and call it a day. There’s even copper tape that will work too

Don’t buy any crap,
just take apart an old car battery, they are filled with thin lead plates, you can sew a little fabric around them,
and then create a wallet/case for your phone.
nothing penetrates lead, not even supermans x-ray vision.
this is what you must do, if your gonna keep your electronic leash.
the better approach is to get a simple flip phone, and not use a portable pocket computer, as part of your daily life.
there is no reason for it, nothing at all.

But some anti static mylar bags. They conduct electricity that is why they are anti static. They will work as well as custom pockets. Pockets would be hard to seal. An actual Faraday cage needs to be connected to earth ground, there are long papers on finding a good earth ground. You don’t want to go there.
Try cleaning out a small potato chip bag, Mylar, put the phone in it and fold it shut. Then try calling the the phone to see if it works. Faraday cages can be made of more than copper.
