I have said this here in the past. Back in the early 70’s a Colonel with MI told a group of us that. “Someday everything you do will be electronically tracked. ” At that time we wondered what the hell was this guy talking about. I never forgot it though….

Same with me.
I have an older Samsung running 4.4.4. No tracking, diagnostic sharing is OFF, and no hint of any new stuff on my Gargle settings.

It’s there. Waiting for the hack/fix to remove it.

It wasn’t too long ago we thought the Chinese & North Koreans were the only ones tracking individual citizens. Then 9/11 and The Patriot Act got the ball rolling. Now this.

Many will fall for anything in the name of Safety.

So, I hope everyone who now realizes that your smart phone is nothing more than an electronic leash.
I hope you will get rid of it.
go buy a flip phone, with a removable battery.

if you can’t remove your smart phone battery, then it is always spying on you, no matter what state you think it is in.

smart phones are the tool used to enslave you, harvest your information, and plant evidence on you.

If we all got rid of our smart phones, the tech oligopoly that is canceling your way of life, will wither and die.

I do not think it is possible.

I’m pretty sure all phones must have a data plan.

I have it too on my Galaxy S8. As bad as this is, keep in mind what it really is. The reason it says “install or finish setting up a participating app” is that the Google/Apple piece that was stealth installed is the API. You still need a separate application to actually do the monitoring/reporting/tracking. As long as you don’t install a tracking app, you *should* be OK. Google/Apple announced this a month ago BTW, but it took the twitter mob to get this on TBP. LOL.

That said, this stealth install stinks to high heaven. It also is very putrid in that you can’t opt out until you install a tracking app. Wtf.

This does smell, and I’ll be tracking the hacking community closely. I’m sure they’ll come up with a way to purge this from our devices.

Covid 19 tracker API is gone.

It IS possible to disable the Gurgle APK and the still have the phone work with some minor inconveniences, like checking email via an open browser in lieu of the hub, and memorizing passwords.

iPhones are like that. I won’t use one.
The last iPhone ended up as iTrash when I threw it against a nearby wall in a fit of rage. The wife gave me one she got in a cheap trade when someone upgraded. I took it as a temp replacement then found out how much I despised it.
In 2006, the wife gave me an older iPod, one that looked like a white USB stick. I saved over 10hrs. of assorted personal and shared music on it and found everything was inaccessible because not all the songs were iTunes verified purchases … many were modified MP3 or MP4 files. No way was I going to download 10+ hours of music for a fee from those vampires. The iPod went in the trash, too.
To hell with Apple, their slave updates, and fees.

Relax little girls.

This rumor that started about Apple and Google secretly installing a COVID tracking app on people’s phones is FALSE
If you have an iPhone go to Settings > Privacy > Health
If you have an Android phone go to Settings > Google

It’s NOT a tracking app

If you click on it, it would ask you to “install or finish setting up an app”. But for this to work, YOU have to download an app from your public health authority first.

What does it mean?
The notifications were to allow Android and iOS update their application programming interface (API) to put in the framework for application developers to use the notification function.

The notifications do not track your location.

if they do start tracking location data, it wouldn’t be hard to really jam them up… upon finding that you may have been “exposed”, merely take your phone with you & go to a Walmart, and, after you’re done take the battery out, then repeat at Home Depot, hopefully some kind of government building, or anywhere else you’d find a crowd. It won’t take too many people doing that before they’d have to close a lot of places or even whole towns and cities because everyone is showing as being possibly “exposed”

I haven’t seen a phone you can take the battery out of in 10 years…Well, maybe my father-in-law’s but I think that is from the 90’s.

Most new phones do not allow battery removal, and some old ones that do have an internal backup battery for the clock / processor which can also allow access by certain alphabets using ultrasonics (which overcome the Faraday bags used by counter intel aware people).

The social distancing was introduced partly to fine tune the tracking tech (approx 50cm clear space, preferably 1 metre or more is required) currently being rolled out prior to 5G taking it to the next level.

Once 5G is rolled out, anything ‘Smart’ – camera, watch, sports wrist band, electric metre, Tv, microwave, washing machine, garage door, you name it, will track you and monitor you. Smart metres enable sub 1cm picture resolution to be obtained of the INSIDE a persons home – using just simple software to decode the signal.

Take a look at the resolution obtained from Playstation and XBox active laser / eye systems and imagine that obtained everywhere inside a home – that is the potential of the smart-meter.

Most people are clueless of how invasive smart tech is and how much info the alphabets can monitor peoples intimate interactions using it.

Belicoso,

Do you know what kind of site you’re on? Everything is a conspiracy and if you don’t believe that, then you must be one of ((them)).

Seriously, do you think, apple and google can’t do whatever they want with your phone? That’s why I’m making a faraday pocket. It’s what the cool kids are doing.

LOL, Android is a big fat tracking system – everywhere you go, to sub 1 metre accuracy (social distance comes into play for network guys here), is stored and transmitted to the bots at ‘Google’. Masses of info can be obtained, processed, compressed, and stored very easily these days.

Even old phones without Android can give rough triangulation positions (quite accurate if stationary, not so much if moving) simply through the regular signal ‘pings’ every phone makes to the nearest cell tower at regualr intervals.

There is additional tech in every smart cell phone that allows the camera and microphone to be activated and the memory accessed (by Google and partner agencies such as Alphabet Intel) without notification. This is not new.

Using ultrasonics to communicate with a device through the microphone can even overcome a Faraday Bag, and has proven popular with intel and alphabet agencies (hence the reason certain groups do not allow phones into meetings), but shhhhh, the lowly population are not supposed to know that.

Just wait until Mr Musk activates his new satellite network – every ‘Smart’ device then becomes an Orwellian spy device linked to the hive and processed through data centres such as the one through which a river flows (for cooling).

Turn off all the location services, and get a good Faraday pouch/case/whatever to hold the phone. Nothing you can do about leaving a trail with the cell towers. If you use a cell phone, the towers have a record.
