THIS DAY IN HISTORY – Religious founder Joseph Smith killed by mob – 1844

Via History.com

Joseph Smith, the founder and leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (more commonly known as Mormonism), is murdered along with his brother Hyrum when a mob breaks into a jail where they are being held in Carthage, Illinois.

Born in Vermont in 1805, Smith claimed in 1823 that he had been visited by a Christian angel named Moroni who spoke to him of an ancient Hebrew text that had been lost for 1,500 years. The holy text, supposedly engraved on gold plates by a Native American historian in the fourth century, related the story of Israelite peoples who had lived in America in ancient times. During the next six years, Smith dictated an English translation of this text to his wife and other scribes, and in 1830 The Book of Mormon was published. In the same year, Smith founded the Church of Christ–later known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints–in Fayette Township.

The religion rapidly gained converts, and Smith set up communities in Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois. However, the Christian sect was also heavily criticized for its unorthodox practices, such as polygamy. In 1844, Smith announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States. Although he did not have great enough appeal to win, the idea of Smith as president increased anti-Mormon sentiment.

A group of dissenting Latter-day Saints began publishing a newspaper that was highly critical of the practice of polygamy and of Smith’s leadership; Smith had the press destroyed. The ensuing threat of violence prompted Smith to call out a militia in the town of Nauvoo, Illinois. He was charged with treason and conspiracy by Illinois authorities and imprisoned with his brother Hyrum in the Carthage city jail. On June 27, 1844, a mob stormed in and murdered the brothers.

Two years later, Smith’s successor, Brigham Young, led an exodus of persecuted Latter-day Saints from Nauvoo along the western wagon trails in search of religious and political freedom. In July 1847, the 148 initial pioneers reached Utah’s Valley of the Great Salt Lake. Upon viewing the valley, Young declared, “This is the place,” and the pioneers began preparations for the tens of thousands of migrants who would follow them to settle there.

No, just going on a reading and prayer spree.

The teachings of the prophets have been vindicated over and over and over.

Ezra Taft Benson, Beware of Pride (1989); https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/1989/04/beware-of-pride?lang=eng

The massive protestant coalition that tired to de-person and bury the Mormons and exclude them from service in the U.S. Government have since buried themselves in failure, faggotry, apostasy, and irrelevance. The Latter Day Saints = The last man standing.

Sorry buddy, I could have worded that better. It was a feeble attempt at humor. It’s what happens when I don’t think about what I’m writing before I hit the send button.

Are the prophets and saints among you most proud of the 1857 slaughter of over 120 men, women, and children of a wagon train at Mountain Meadows on their way to California?

Tell us that wonderful story of Mormon deceit and brutality.

Or does the Mormon word have no record of that fact?

Any man that wants more than one nagging wife has a problem. I read that Book of Mormon and looked deep into my heart and decided it was a bunch of BS. It wasn’t a hard decision either. I drove for a company out of SLC and its a nice place. Lots of good looking Mormon women. The large office staff at the trucking company looked like something from an Aryan nation commercial, lots of clean-cut very white college-aged kids working there.
When you picture the Rocky mountains and snow, SLC looks like what I would have imagined, even more so than Denver. I kind of like SLC its better than most cities I have been to.

Yah, you had to read the entire Book of Mormon to decide it was a bunch of BS? It only took me one page to determine it was utter Bull Shit! As for SLC … it’s a conglomeration of over-populated cities that stretch for over 100 miles, south to north, along the most infested and cluttered freeway system (and always under construction 365/24/7) I’ve ever experienced. I cannot image having to live in that swarming Hell-Hole Bee Hive. The best thing I can say about SLC is watching it disappear in the rear-view mirror. Me also thinks that Smith was a deluded mental case… either insane, a drug addict, or both. He should have kept his mouth shut about his wet-dream encounter with Maroni. He would have lived a longer life.

Strange. I found it to be the word of God, but based off your speech it sounds like you’ve let the devil whisper one too many lies into your heart.

“Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.“

1844 was a significant year. Many things started back then. There is a lecture from Walter Veith. 1844 I don’t go along with every teaching of the SDA, but the chickens are coming to roast these days.

Two cents.
I never met a Mormon I disliked.
Lots of Mormons don’t believe in Joseph Smith.
Teddy Roosevelt left them alone with polygamy as they were far enough from the east coast and were his best defense against the injun.
God seems to have granted them the ability to make a lot of money.
I wonder if they still own 20000 head of steer in South Florida.
When I used to ski Solitaire near there the Californians were beginning to diminish SLC by moving in.

You’re correct–Lot’s of Mormons don’t believe in Joseph Smith.

But if they want to stay in good standing with the LDS crutch–they keep their mouths shut in order to keep their jobs, their families and so forth–such is the incredible pressure on those people trapped in this crazy cult.

Secretly there’s quite a few of the LDS General Authorities who know that the whole thing is a shame as well.

The Reformed LDS Church leaders some years ago dropped all requirements that you ‘believe in Joe Smith as a prophet,’ and also dropped all belief in the Book of Mormon. They also changed their name to, “The Body Of Christ.”

There are about a dozen LDS-ish spinoff churches still in operation… and a few very, very small cliques as well.

After Joe got shot down like a rabid dog the LDS Crutch split into several factions–with Joe’s wife and Sidney Ridgon going off on their own to continue the scam.

Read this book to get the true scoop on the LDS Crutch…

We heard the story told first hand by a young couple who had done the unthinkable: they left the Mormon Church. But, it is not the same as waving Goodbye and walking out the door. There is a lengthy shaming that goes on, including an appearance before a tribunal type of hearing. Yes, jobs, family, reputation are all at risk when a Mormon decides they no longer want to anymore be a part of the cult.

There is a lengthy process to leave the LDS crutch if you go the official way that is–you have to apply, send in letters of resignation–and all along the way they are pressuring you to stay and ‘pray about it.’

Most people who decide to leave, just up and leave, and this is much easier if you reside outside of the Mormon Belt (Utah up through Idaho, parts of Wyoming, etc.). You just stop showing up. Stop participating, and then blend in with the rest of normal society.

It’s much more difficult if you live in the Mormon Belt and if you have deep social connections and work connections there–you will lose it all very fast. Even then, many people just up and leave–and then leave the Mormon Belt to start over, to start completely new lives with new jobs and new friends.

This is happening mainly with young people who move out of the Mormon Belt going east or west, and with young married couples who want a fresh start.

The LDS crutch is a deep, deep-cult, with membership programs that keep you involved, working and busy 7 days a week with bullshit meetings, organizations, jobs (non-paying) and tasks… all with downloadable approved manuals just like the communist party. And this is the reason why so many people are leaving–they are just mentally tired of all the bullshit. It is a non-stop propaganda program.

The LDS crutch is bleeding members–yet they still keep them on the books to keep the appearance of number up, when in fact they are rapidly declining.

Mountain Meadow Massacre
Joseph also led the local Masonic Temple where he incorporated Masonic rituals into the Mormon church.
He was a Kabbalist and Gnostic.
DNA proves that indigenous people of America are not Hebrew descendants as told in the Book of Mormon.

A couple months after he was inducted into Masonry in the Navoo Lodge in March 1842–Joe Smith came up with a whole new set of temple rites and rituals which are today known as the “Endowment ritual/s.” These he copies completely from the Masonic rituals–down to the funny aprons, hats, hand-shakes (ie: ‘sure sign of the nail’) and so forth.

Here’s an undercover, hidden camera video of the endowment ceremony within a Mormon temple (newest version with the hot blonde (who is a swinger BTW) who play Eve)…

Making the ‘Sure sign of the nail’ though the veil…

As for Bring ’em Young–he was a piker compared to Joesph Smith.

This lech actually stood upon the docks at the Navoo landing looking for hot, young ass as new arrivals/converts disembarked from the river boats. He would literally take them out of the crowds and have a personal revelation from god–and then bed them. He married quite a few women in this manner and had over 30 wives stashed away from his main wife Emma.
