Freedom lovers reside in EVERY state. That they are outnumbered come election time doesn’t change that truth, nor does your need to paint napalm with a broad brush. Set aside 15 states where true freedom-lovers can go and be unmolested by the progressive/liberal scum (or the RINOs and other republican freedom-haters), and then speak in 5 years after everyone has had a chance to relocate according to their desires. Just look at a map by county of how Trump did in the last election (not the best indicator, but one that can easily be found). IN EVERY STATE, the majority of counties (other than the urban ones), voted in the majority for Trump. That doesn’t mean there are enough of them to fill a state legislature with freedom lovers. Even New Hampshire, where freedom loving folks are actively trying to set up shop as the “Free State Project,” continues to be dominated by others.
Sorry, I am just tired of folks not recognizing that lots of things keep people living where they are….not the least of which is a lack of truly free states to re-locate to.
MrLiberty- Exactly. As I’ve pointed out before, Trump received almost 4.5 million votes from California in 2016, trailing only Florida and Texas with ~4.6 million each. Makes no sense to throw out the baby with the bath water.
If that baby wishes to jump out of the stagnant bathwater before the divorce, I’m fine with it. Otherwise, it’s better to shun Sodom before all good people end up suffering for their depravity.
There is no Utopia, but there are states where the liberty-leaning/loving outnumber the collectivists. The reason most people stay where they are can generally be relegated to complacency and resistance to change. It’s human nature and not due to some altruistic, higher end; even in Six Sigma they lay out the propensity of 60% of the population to be followers (Don’t Rock the Boat) and 20% to be Stone Agers. The 20% of the populace who are Pioneers have already moved based on the best intelligence at the time.
So, to reiterate: I do NOT want to be part of a nation with Californians. If that means coming up with some perverted House Swap/Eminent Domain program to “assist” each party to relocate before the band-aid is ripped off, so be it. No more compromises.
I think it’s time to break up the states. Let the urban areas become separate states and separate them from the rest.
Won’t work based on a strictly rural/urban dichotomy. Once the ability for a convention of the states faded away, the only semi-peaceful alternative remaining is to set up some form of a switcheroo operation. It’ll never happen, but ideally those who couldn’t afford to relocate right now would be given the opportunity to relocate through some eminent domain/house swap arrangement by the two (or more) provisional governments.
Again, never gonna happen. Urban areas like Memphis, TN and Jackson, MS that are behind enemy lines will have to be cleared and resettled by those in control of the state. And vice versa for the conservative enclaves in California. Door to door, house to house. That’s where we’re headed and it sucks but it is what it is.
Folks are in for a wild ride like Donetsk and Luhansk if they’re unable to relocate NOW. Hell, I’ve been worrying about getting all of my supplies in place before November, and that’s chicken scratch compared to what most folks are staring at.

Agreed. I have always advocated starting with 50 sovereign states, but that should move to 500-5000 quickly. Freedom simply cannot flourish under central power control. California is easily 5 unique states now, but a solid case could be made for 50.
