August, 1946: The citizens of Athens, Tennessee stage an armed revolt against their corrupt local government. People had long been outraged by the local Democratic machine, headed by Boss E.H. Crump, which maintained power through graft and electoral fraud, and used the local sheriff’s department as a tool of oppression and brutality. The machine also kept tight control over the region’s newspapers and its grasp extended to every part of local government: said one veteran returning from WWII, “You couldn’t even get hired as a schoolteacher without their okay, or any other job.” The sheriff’s department routinely rousted returning G.I.s and hit them with trumped up fees and fines to steal as much of their pay as possible.
Receiving no help from the federal government – The Department of Justice had investigated election fraud in 1940, 1942, and 1944, but had failed to take any effective action – tensions grew until the August 1946 election, when a group of G.I.s put forward their own slate of candidates in an attempt to overthrow the Crump machine once and for all. They were met on Election day by false arrests, vote fraud, and voter intimidation. Things finally came to a head when an elderly black farmer was turned away from the polls, and subsequently beaten by a policeman with brass knuckles when he and the veteran assigned as a poll watcher objected. The farmer tried to escape, but was shot in the back and killed.
The people had had enough. A group of veterans and other citizens gathered together and, still desperate for a government solution, telegraphed the Governor of Tennessee and the US Attorney General pleading for help. But when no response came, and they learned that the sheriff had sent armed deputies to the polling places, the citizens decided that a show of force was necessary. A small group of men broke into the National Guard Armory and stole 60 rifles and a couple of tommyguns, armed the crowd, and went on the march.
By then, word had spread that the sheriff’s deputies had seized the ballot boxes and taken them to the local jail. Using the military tactics that they had learned in WWII, the vets quickly developed a battle plan and laid siege to the jail. They knew that they had to take control of the ballots before the Crump machine could arrange for reinforcements, and before they could complete any plans for vote manipulation. Several hundred armed citizens surrounded the jail and traded gunfire with the sheriff and his deputies. The fighting continued through the night, with small arms fire and even dynamite, but by 3:30 AM the deputies were beaten and finally surrendered.
With their surrender, the ballot boxes were recovered; the G.I. candidates had defeated the Crump machine candidates by a 3:1 margin.

I agree with you. Those folks sure know what’s going on and don’t say anything publicly, but they sure talk in private and it would amaze you how many have a pistol nearby when they go out in public. We are the true Americans and believe in law and order, the rule of law, minding your own business. We work and have families. It is easy to say, “Well, pick up your AR-15 and start shooting them!” Far tougher to do if it means not merely your death but misery for your friends and family. Care to spend some time in a Federal prison? Our enemies are professional thugs and human garbage. They do not worry about breaking the law and they are protected by Democrat mayors, governors, judges, and a swarm of “civil rights” attorneys. The time is coming when decent, law-abiding people will decide that the risks of doing nothing outweigh the risks of action. That day may come early next year. When it does, and people know they can act in mass, things will change rapidly and it will be ugly. In the meantime, lone wolves will probably start to strike. Keep your powder dry. You strike when the iron is hot, and it is getting there.

Nobody should preach violence or encourage it. Unfortunately, by stealing this election, all Democrats (and especially those who can be counted as activists) have decided to turn themselves into military targets. That was their decision. Let me explain. In Latin America, guerrilla and terrorist organizations usually designate their enemies as “military targets”, regardless of their personal status. That is to say, any person supporting the “government” (which by definition Communists regard as illegitimate) becomes a lawful object of military action. What this means in practice is the assassination of journalists, mayors, government agents, politicians, wealthy persons supporting the regime, etc.
I fully expect the current situation to spiral down into mass violence. I don’t want it and wish it could have been avoided but the leftists have made their choice. I hope they find the bed they made comfortable.
It will probably start with some stupid action by the Biden Administration a la Ruby Ridge or Waco. This time, however, the response will not be from isolated, unstable fanatics. It will come from the totally alienated half of this country that knows perfectly well that Donald Trump won this election.
Trump supporters are the heart and soul of our nation. The Democrats are a collection of losers, perverts, disloyal foreigners, and ethnic malcontents, all presided over by the usual suspects. This electoral farce will finally force the “normies” to face facts: This is no longer their country and if they want it back they will have to fight.
Once half of this country views the Federal government as illegitimate, all bets are off.
Decent Americans have, up until now, refrained from acts of violence towards the traitors who have brought us to the edge of the abyss. I have a feeling that their restraint is near an end.
Funny thing about insurgencies. Once they start to grow, the “authorities” find it more and more difficult to fight them and eventually the insurgents can act with near impunity, knowing their military “actions” will never really be investigated. The police are too busy looking out for their own necks. Sure, the rebels take losses, but these are rarely fatal to the movement unless – get this! – unless the population supporting them turns on them.
One gunman shooting down an obnoxious journalist on the street may quickly be caught, as all of the resources of the city, state, and Federal government can be brought to bear to “solve the crime”. When there are 100 such actions across the country in a single day, well, the “victims” become mere statistics (a hat tip to Joe Stalin).
It will take Americans time to absorb what has happened and to face up to the ugly truth that we are ruled by a regime run by the enemies of the American people. But they will eventually face up to it. When they do they will begin to study the successful guerrilla and terrorist groups and increase their own chances of survival geometrically.
Engaging in a bit of day-dreaming, I have always respected the IRA for its professionalism and a thorough study of that organization’s history is in order. IRA rules: An operation is not a success unless you accomplish your objective and suffer no losses yourself. The Italian terrorists were also highly professional.
It goes without saying that these organizations, should they appear, will adopt the cell system whereby no more than five people act together and their ties to the larger organization are limited to their leader, who is in contact with the next level, and so on. The Communist terrorist groups have always used the system and it works pretty well.
I know that quite a few folks say they are not interested in politics and certainly want nothing to do with joining any movement to recapture our country. I have some bad news for you. Unless you are planning on permanently leaving the country, this war is coming to you, like it or not. There will be no neutrals. As for the leftists who brought this on, good luck. You will need it.
