The Griswold quote is plainly false. Or, at least, if better ideas are weapons, they’re mostly ineffectual against bad ideas that have taken hold in the public mind.

The Wilson quote is true, but I’d say that the U.S. (& the world) is dividing into two camps:
1) the unavoidably paranoid; and,
2) the hopelessly naive.
