Where is this? How do I get a religious exemption?
I’m thinking he typed something up, laminated it, and placed a lanyard on it, and wore it around his neck.
A few weeks ago we were visiting friends in SW Florida, Estero, FL to be precise. As I think everyone knows, Ron DeSantis has opened up Florida. My wife and I went into a Total Wine store where they mandate masks. I did not wear one. While looking at some wines a store employee asked me to wear one. I challenged him stating that the governor had the state opened up and there were no mask mandates. He stated that it was corporate policy and they required them. As I started to place a mask on my face a female shopper who was eavesdropping called me “stupid.” I said to her “what did you say to me?”. She then begins getting very loud and starts saying that she is a nurse and she witnesses 100 people dying every day of Covid. She is yelling this at me as she and her cart quickly walk away. As she is leaving I call BS on her remarks but, she is already down another aisle.
So, in typical liberal/progressive fashion she throws a grenade, name calls, and then stomps off refusing to debate actual facts.
What was interesting is that I had about a 10 minute conversation with the employee who was a guy, like me, in his senior years. He thought it was all bull crap too and he thanked me for not making a scene and for complying. (I told him it was under protest — hey, I wanted my wine and liquor!). He then said this country was about to explode and we are near the end!
Go to Barnhardt’s site, she has the forms that you can copy. They’re probably archieved by now. I made some masks out of gauze that can be breathed through easily. No one hassles me because I’m technically wearing a mask which goes to show how easily people are controlled.
The two guys met a store manager who wasn’t stupid, he is in the minority.
I typed before I saw Stucky’s post. He’s got the forms. Copy them and then go get them laminated. As to masks and mandates and Texas. Even though Abbott removed the mandates, most businesses require masks to enter. I wear the mask to go buy groceries because I need to eat. I sure don’t need overpriced furniture or trinkets from China.
Piker! I’m in WA now and the mask nazis are thick as flies and I won’t wear one. No one has even questioned me in the various stores I’m in. I believe the overall consensus is fatigue. In W/M yesterday and I was one of a handful without a mask. I must be sending out some don’t start anything vibes. Back in n AR, the tide has definitely turned as mask wearers are heavily outnumbered.
So are you saying that grocery stores in TX will force you to wear one?

This is great…I’m printing one down ‘if’ I ever get that far along in the discussion…being a slug walking around with my own extended mag salt shaker in the open the vast majority of managers have left me alone.
I also keep my mesh camo sniper scarf in my truck and have gone back and retrieved it once when asked to leave. The jellyhead manager who confronted me was fine with me wearing it, and could plainly see it was just mesh…and I was wearing it under my nose. I don’t think she really wanted to go another round with me.
I think wearing the SAT CONG cap and the COME AND TAKE IT t-shirt helps to.

Not me. I go in without a mask, or I don’t go in. Granted, my locale may be much more conducive to buckin the system….but the way he did it just helps to continue the established “narrative”

I was laughing to myself yesterday. My wife asked what on earth was going on. I explained that I have an idea for a business. What is it asked she.
I told her we should start a Farter for Hire business. We would employ people go around to places like this, for a fee, to crop dust the clientele and employees of these places. I told her for sure there would be demand.
We laughed until we cried. I am still certain there would be a market. Would just have to figure out a delivery mechanism.

A simple chain-wide dissention would eliminate the mask policy in about 2 hours. End of story.
That manager is the epitome of every mid-level management douche bag hack in every corporate corner of Amerika. He toes the company line, has zero fucks to give about anyone but himself while he plays the kind, caring, soft-spoken “voice of reason” manager while he fires anyone for even the smallest infractions all the while quoting company “policy”.
Most American corporate managers are little more than slugs. (Sorry for insulting slugs.)
I’ve had this discussion more than once since I don’t mask for medical reasons.
Usually with small businesses I call ahead to let them know I’m coming. A lot of them are trying hard to just hold on through this and I don’t like walking through the door and giving them a hard time when they’re already stressed to the max. The big corporations can all eat a big bag of dicks.
I’m in the same predicament, since I have a medical condition but no longer have a GP (he retired, leaving me abandoned). I have not been inside a store – any store – in over a year. Is there any card or other document like the one Stucky posted for us Canucks? Any leads?
By law here in canukistan, and here in BC, you can state you have an exemption. You do NOT have to provide proof as its personal medical information which under privacy laws you do not have to reveal or prove you have a medical condition. You don’t even have to ‘prove’ anything to the cops, until now. But if they arrest or serve a fine take it to court.
Yep, understood, but then I’d have to prove it in court. When my previous doctor retired, he didn’t get all the paperwork from the doctor I had before him – who died suddenly. So I have no proof of my condition for the courts, and no GP to get one from, meaning a clinic visit, that I can’t go to, because I struggle to breathe with a mask on! Catch 22 all around. Welcome to socialized medicine in a idiocratic fascist state!
You don’t need a card in BC. They have to take you at your word. I have a doctors note in my wallet though just in case some ‘hero’ with a badge decides to try and kick my ass for not wearing face diaper.
Lackwit Biden has said there will not be a national vaccine passport, but that corporate America will carry their water. Wonder what they will get in return? Subsidy, tax exemption, social justice scores? For sure there will be a carrot or a stick.
Sorry…but I don’t care about the private property rights argument for these businesses now. Their lack of standing up for themselves to the government mandates mean individuals have to do it, and the way to do that is to push back on private businesses. The government thinks they’re so clever by putting businesses in the middle of this charade where they throw our “private property” argument back in our faces. Well, nope, no more. No one is playing by the rules anymore, so private businesses watch out…your cowardice will eventually hurt you.
Are these corporations actually private properties when they are clearly open to the public at large? I’d really like to know the legal answer to this question.
