Staff wearing masks vs. customers

Has anyone else noticed that restaurants are requiring their staff to wear masks and some not?

My wife and I have started going out to restaurants again (we didn’t stop going because we were scared of covid. We stopped going because we weren’t going to play the mask game). Now, if I see any staff with masks on, I ask to see the manager. Then I let him/her know we will not be eating at his/her restaurant because they are dehumanizing and abusing their staff. Then we walk out.

Love it.

I was at a very poplar Amish restaurant and they had a sign on their door that said they staff may not have masks on. We went into each and only one employee and about 10% of the customers had them on. Then too boot, it was a buffet. So everyone was walking around without masks on. It was almost like normal. I went to the manager and thanked them for not making their employees wear masks.

For anyone that thinks it can cause a major outbreak. There was sale going on and there where over 10,000 people at that sale. Tell me where it was. You know, since the “virus” so contagious and deadly. Anyone should be able to find it but look at the numbers.

Just to give you an idea of the amount of people that attend the sale, We had to drive almost an hour to find a hotel to stay at.

Good show! Always speak up to the management regarding service, product, policies at any place open to the public. You will usually learn quickly if the establishment is worth supporting or never going back to.

The newest thing is that if you received the holy jab you can work mask-free. Otherwise, it’s the diaper for you. Stores also state that you need a mask to shop if you haven’t joined the jab cult.

I was surprised the other day when I went to Dollar General a couple of miles away and while they still have the silly sign posted on the door, literally no one was masking. Not even employees.

Most of the fast food restaurants by me (NW Illinois) have their employees wearing masks. The other stores, not so much. Many places have signs stating if you’re vaccinated you don’t have to wear one to enter. Fuck that.

If the Nazis had first required everyone to wear a yellow star, and then offered that those who voluntarily identified themselves as non-jewish(so long as you could prove it) could stop wearing it; would that have made everything okey dokey in the minds of the people who are trying to use “voluntariness” as their way around both HIPAA laws and charges of discrimination?

It is illegal to ask for any of your medical information. Federal Law. Hippa etc. Tell them it’s none of their damn business if you’ve had the death jab. Otherwise say you identify as being vaccinated.

Can you imagine walking into a shrink’s office, and singing a bar of

“You can get anything you want at Alice’s restaurant without wearing a mask”… and walk out?

They might think you’re crazy.

If TWO of you do it, in perfect harmony, they might think ya’s faggots.

But if THREE or more people do it, then…

So we’re gonna sing it out loud, the next time it comes around, on the guitar…
…here it comes…

“That was horrible. If you wanna end war & stuff, ya gotta sing LOUD. With FEELING.”

Our local Publix just put up a sign recommending masking, but most of their employees don’t mask.

Here in Commiefornia Cal-OSHA has decreed that most businesses still require their employees to mask up. It is totally incongruous but typical of government stupidity to have unmasked customers and masked servers, tellers, customers in the same building.
They have announced that they may have updated rules for employees soon.
Just another brick in the wall.

As a bartender/manager of a restaurant, I’d like to say, fuck you – fuck off.

The self righteous ‘speak to the manager’ cunts should just stay home.

Our mask policy is do whatever you want. So if my staff chooses to wear a mask, that’s their business.

I find it fascinating you could not find anywhere during the mask phase to have dinner without a mask? Are you truly that awful of a customer? You didn’t know a single restaurant where you didn’t have to mask? No restaurant could trust you enough?

That seems sad.

Then again, that’s probably the result of berating service industry workers for things they can’t control.

I was going to switch my wife and I from android to iPhone a week ago. I was stopped at the door of the Apple store and told I had to wear a mask. This is, mind you, after Virginia changed to mask only if you’re unvaxed.

I went into the store anyway so I could give the double finger salute and yell as loud as I could, “Apple is a faggot company”, and walked out. My daughter said I’d probably end up on something called tick tock.

True, not everything is politics. Masks are though.

In my state (Virginia), no one is required to wear a mask unless unvaccinated. HIPPA is a thing so, no one can ask. I find it abhorrent that an employer would require some staff to wear the mask and not others.

I went to the gun show yesterday. Not a single staff member with a mask. Police are always in the building also….no mask. I am quite sure the number of vaccinated in VA. is not 98%.

I think we misunderstand each other’s definition of kindness. I believe there are many employees who are sick and tired of their employers forcing them to either mask or vax. Employers in Virginia, if I am correct, have the ability to let their employees choose. If the employer is not letting employees choose, then they are dictators…tyrants. It’s not that hard to understand Star.

My apologies – I could have phrased things better.

In NY, your business could be shut down for non compliance with mask mandates. The State Liquor Authority (SLA) controls licensing for restaurants and bars. They would send around inspectors to check compliance with distancing and mask mandates, food with drinks rules. Were the business found to be in non-compliance, you face fines, forced shutdowns and even suspension/revocation of your liquor license.

Yes, it’s an example of a government institution far exceeding it’s mandate. But that is beyond the scope of most service staff concerns.

In that type of environment, trust is the only means to not force people to wear masks. The only thing we were ever concerned about was being shut down because some asshole didn’t want to pretend to wear a mask, or would report us for someone not wearing a mask.

Balancing mask wearing customers and non mask wearing customers was a tricky endeavor. I’d often have to lock the doors and go curbside only, so no one could see my non mask wearing customers. I have a 96 year old customer that not once wore a mask. What was I gonna do, tell her to drop the walker and put her mask on? Kitchens are absurdly hot, I had a customer force his way into the kitchen, see that we don’t force the cooks to wear masks, and he loudly declared he would never eat there again and stormed out.

After 16 months, I have dozens of these stories, and to be honest I did what I could to accommodate both groups of people. Mask nazis? Play along until we get rid of them. No mask nazis? Lock the doors enjoy dinner. Then again, it’s difficult to do that in non community based restaurants and bars.

Perhaps it wasn’t enough, but your waiter or waitress and even your average manager, simply isn’t the person to fight this battle against. Hell, I’d say your waiter or waitress and average manager was the best way to NOT have to wear a mask.

I texted back that I’d waited this long because I wasn’t masking up. I guess I’ll just keep waiting.

I do respect their rules for their business, but I won’t be patronizing them either.

GnL, ummm I line in N. VA and I have been going to restaurants the entire Covid plandemic. Governor blackface MADE the restaurant employees wear masks. He even had VA statsi making compliance checks. So, the workers had no choice. Customers could be mask less but servers had to be masked. Is that stupid??…of course it is but look at the VA governor. These businesses were trying to SURVIVE! Glad you are so noble but punishing restaurants because VA governor is a totalitarian idiot makes no sense to me. You need to get a clue… to complain to the manager of a privately owned restaurant may get some traction. Complain to a manager of a chain…like Starbucks you are wazzing in the wind! TLate,

We ordered out and only picked up from restaurants that either brought the food to our car or allowed us to come in maskless to pick it up. I found that many restaurants were willing to let me come in unmasked since the food had yet to be paid for. About 2 months ago a restaurant wouldn’t let me pick up without the mask and they wouldn’t bring it to the car. I gave the restaurant the double finger salute and told them they were faggots.
