A collaboration of: “The Classic Music Mafia”
nkit, Austrian Peter, and Steve C.
A Birthday Greeting from AP. – Today is special for Steve C because it’s his 69th Birthday and I offer every good wish for a very Happy Birthday; taking this opportunity to thank him for all his wonderful work on our behalf to bring TBPers joy and pleasure in these worrying times. – Peter
Every Sunday morning we present selections for our TBP family to enjoy.
We present symphonies, ensembles, quartets, octets, etc.
Not all of our music is strictly ‘classical’. We may stray a little, but we strive to make all of our selections ‘classy’.
We offer tips on proper ‘symphony etiquette’ and even some selections that are a bit light-hearted and fun aimed at a younger audience. Those pieces will be so designated, and might be a good way to introduce kids to a world of music that they might not have been exposed to or think of as old and ‘stuffy’.
A full symphony will run as long as it will. We don’t want to cut a symphony short. However, we also include some shorter pieces that we try to keep under fifteen minutes in length. You can sample each and hopefully find one or more that pleases you.
We hope that you enjoy our Sunday selections.

Gold and Silver
Today, we will play the music of Franz Lehar 4/30/1870 – 10/24/1948.
He was a Hungarian composer known mainly for his operettas.
The first piece is titled “Gold and Silver” from “Springtime in Vienna.”
This is Vladimir Fedosejev conducting the Wiener Symphoniker.
Zigeunerliebe Walzer
Next is Lehar’s “Zigeunerliebe Walzer.”
A very beautiful waltz.
Lippen Schweigen
Next, Andre Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra play “Lippen Schweigen” from Franz Lehar’s most famous operetta titled “The Merry Widow.”
Die Lustige Witwe
We’ll close this out with another beautiful Lehar waltz.
This is “Die Lustige Witwe” (Euregio-

I hope you enjoy our selections today.
As always, have a great Sunday.

Heaven help us…
Happy Birthday Steve!
Thanks Svarga.
I hope that you are enjoying this week’s selections…
After the piano, my favorite instrument is the violin. I live the sound. Have been self teaching it for awhile and this was the first song I learned. I’m sure most will remember where it came from. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Thanks Muscledawg. That was very nice.
We’ll use it in about six weeks and credit you for it.
In the meantime check out the violin player in this week’s feature as well as in nkit’s Zigeunerliebe Walzer.
We have seen some *fascinating* clips of the Yamaha horn factories.
This review of the VERY old, quite famous, Bosendorfer Piano factory is fascinating also.
The necessarily quite complex composition of the instrument manufacturing is noteworthy.
HELP PLEASE, Sirs, from you European traveled gentlemen.
The Godess performing a famous piece, but where is the beautiful location?
The timing at sunset, with the camera work makes for a memorable addition to the Godess usual outstanding performance, obviously with the orchestra contribution.

Ursel, I believe that is Munich. Thanks for putting that up. It’s a very lovely piece.
I am soooooo in love!
But don’t tell Khatia she would be jealous.
Happy Birthday, Steve C.
Thank you for playing The Blade Runner Suite.
Beautiful waltzes. It was fun to see the happy audience participate in The Merry Widow selection.
Thank you Leah.
And thanks for your contributions.
They are appreciated…

This Collection is for sure one of the very best, makes a Sunday worth looking forward to!!
Further to Khatia and Yuja…..
Repeating the rule of life as it is so important for mental health.
“A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.” ― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Ursel – I would add to see a beautiful woman to that list, so we knocked out two with Khatia & Yuja.
Happy birthday Steve. I hope it was a wonderful day for you. We sincerely appreciate all the effort you do in bringing us this wonderful music each week.
Thank you TN Patriot.
What a nice treat…
My pleasure, Steve. I know you like the sax so decided you deserved a saxophone birthday while I was listening the the beautiful music you provided us.
Mi-Bémol’s Tchaikovsky waltz was as beautiful as any full orchestra and I was shocked that I did not miss the strings & percussion. Every week I seem to find a piece that blows me away and you did it again.
What a great birthday for this old bearded American hero…..SMC loves the old buzzard…
